Worked perfectly with the included CD in the email/web surfing box I built for my mom operating XP SP3. Recognized the card with out a restart and picked up the network proper away, even from the other side of the residence and a floor away. The signal is only about 30%, but you don't genuinely discover because the pc's slow anyway. =) The utility on the driver CD seems fine, and it shows a lot more information than the native XP wireless setup. Good Lengthy antenna cord tends to make it straightforward to come across the strongest signal. None however, just installed it yesterday, although. The mounting tab was a little bit off, didn't want to line up with the screw hole in my case, but that's nothing a tiny elbow grease can't repair.

Does what its supposed to. Has excellent range. None. Is in the basement of a large home, the wireless router is upstairs. So it gets the job done for the price tag.

I have always been a little wary of wireless world wide web for desktops and decided to give this a attempt. I'm glad I did due to the fact it operates just wonderful! It is as quick as my wired connection- haven't tried a bunch of comparisons but it maintained stable connections at the identical speed as my wired connection for numerous a number of diverse issues I threw at it. Installing it was also a breeze- pop it in the PCI slot, attach antenna to back, boot, throw in CD and you have quickly wireless internet in about 2 minutes!-Fast-Effortless to install-Affordable-Movable antenna-Operates with Windows 7 64bit -None, other than I may possibly want anything to be wireless from now on If you've thought about wireless, get this. It's only 20 bucks, so what have you got to lose?

Unknown The New Egg description for program needs stated that this would operate with Win ME but it will not also it failed to show that a 1ghz processor was necessary so that was disappointing. I only wish that far more attention would be offered as to program specifications in the item descriptions. Excellent service from New Egg

Really great wireless card. It gets 1.5X the reception compared to quite a few other cards. The software program also performs effectively unlike other dropping signals or low bars. Functions with Windows 7. Low-cost Antenna with string doesn't appear that cool. Also older model which Edimax need to have to revise. I think it doesn't operate with wireless N nor 32bit OS. What is the newer version of this auto. This is a single of a couple of vehicles that operates upstairs on my home becuse the walls and and so on causes most automobiles to drop signal

I have to admit, I wasn't expecting much from this card as low-cost as it was, but wow! This factor operates Wonderful! I live in a 130+ farmhouse with plaster walls and most wireless products have troubles with the thick walls. But not this card! Nada.. zip.. nary a one particular

- Extremely cheap (price not quality).- Installed out of the box, but that may have mainly because I was already wired to my modem. - Not wireless N capable. :( - The antenna cable length is so long that wireless N capabilities shouldn't be needed to get the important signal strength.

Solid, affordable, difficulty free wifi.Far superior to much more pricey usb adapters. Runs natively and out of the box in Linux - Tested: Ubuntu ten.ten, Xubuntu ten.04 Aging b/g wifi normal Not genuinely a con, but make certain you have an available PCI slot... Attention:Minimum System Specifications? This device runs flawlessly in my Mom's vintage Gateway Computer. I built my personal router running pfSense and this card loaded up in FreeBSD no problem and is in access point mode. Lengthy external antenna cable. Wish it would have come with a low profile bracket. Like the Rosewill card. I have a 2u case and it is in there with no a bracket. I'll have to rig some thing up.

Has a Quite lengthy antenna cable that actually stretches half way across my space towards the router, haha. You don't want the computer software it comes with, use your OS'. I would recommend for everyone who needs a low priced PCI wireless card.

It has worked excellently: On both Ubuntu and ArchLinux using NetworkManager it operates without me having to load a single driver (built into the kernel).NetworkManager reports 57% connectivity, whereas my old Linksys WMP54G maxed out at 20% connectivity.Functions with FreeBSD and NetBSD as well, but I don't recall the actions necessary for that None that I can think of. Sticky Tack (or related) must mount the antenna to a window sill/desk rather nicely :)

Low-cost, does its job for standard stuff. I can stream DVD folders and ISOs off this card on my household network very easily. It's a bit lacking for HD MKVs even though. Don't use the CD that comes with it. Google for "EDIMAX EW-7128G drivers" (first link at the time of this writing).

I wanted to make a different review on this card. I originally purchased this card 3 years ago on January 30th, 2007. It handled 3 years of operate in my machine. It's now receiving re-purposed into another machine. I even did gaming on it. It's no Ethernet connection. Played quite a few a lot of games on it more than the past three years. That was an entire floor and two rooms away from the WiFi point. Connection wasn't perfect, but it worked. Do yourself a favor and acquire this card.

It just operates wonderful and the driver supplied plays properly with WIN 7, which is a lot a lot more than I can say for the Cisco/Linksys junk. It did not come with a short metal strip for the retainer. I had ro cut off the lengthy one.

Like the title says. Excellent range (though AP is much less than 50 feet away) No disconnects so far. Good value, affordable performance. None. Installed card, powered machine, Win7 detected card in device manager. I had a thumb drive with the latest drivers from EdiMax (pulled them although I was at function) Installed drivers, OS liked them, rebooted Pc. Connected to my WI-IF, fantastic to go.

-Compatible with 64bit Win 7 as nicely as BackTrack (unix) for all your security testing demands, ie packet injection. -Fantastic range-Have used for 4 years with no difficulty-No disconnect issues that you get with USB adapter dongles-Bought for 3x the present cost so this is a bargain suitable now! -The interface (PCI) is now deemed 'old fashioned' (ie non PCI-E). I had an problem last year acquiring a new motherboard that had space for two PCI cards (this card and my old soundblaster). This can make new builds hard Check to make certain you have a no cost PCI slot and save your self some embarrassment with newegg returns!
