Though this card runs hot, it is exceptional is every way, shape and form. I originally purchased the Galaxy brand and that thing pooped out soon after 2 days. This EVGA comes with every thing you could want, which includes excellent applications and even a free game Via steam. At present I am not maxing it's potential on a 19" monitor but am saving for a bigger one. none.

Quickly, powerful, and so on. Works as described. A bit pricey, but worth it... The only true gripe I have with it is that it's unable to assistance three monitors at when. I type of assumed considering that it had 2 DVI ports and a mini HDMI that it could have 3 displays operating from one particular card, nevertheless this is not the situation to my expertise. The Mini-HDMI to HDMI Cable is actually a fairly lengthy cable Ɩft?), so unless you require anything longer, don't assume that you'll need to obtain 1. I yet again assumed it was an adapter of some type so I went ahead and bought a cable which turned out to be the similar precise a single that came with it.

Beastly. Adds couple of inches to my e-peen. Heats my house in the winter. Plays COD4 on Very High, 16X AA, 1080p, Ambient Occlusion with more than 250FPS. It's my old favorite.Temp: 53idle : 82load When you play with every thing high. Practically full load. The fan sounds like a heli rotor. It essentially scared me. It is Quite quiet when it's on idle. Verify other thoughts. At present, the game I'm primarily playing is Bad Business two. I purchased this card solely to play BC2 in a larger setting. I applied to use my GTX 260 and it would get about 90FPS on 720p medium settings. No lag, no concerns, very rapid loading occasions. I switched up and loading time went up by 10 seconds. It will LAG, like get 40FPS on 720p with medium settings. That is pathetic. I get greater efficiency with a 3 year old card. Considerably better in fact. I imply naturally it's a beast of a card and I cannot blame it for a horribly ported/coded BC2 game. However, you would assume 500 bucks for a card is adequate to get you some sort of edge. I'm not the most Pro of a personal computer builder/tester/overclocker but I assume it's primarily nVidia's awful drivers. I am very incredibly, really disappointed. My method in a nutshell.i7 930 two.8Ghz12GB 1600Mhz DDR3 Dominators80GB INTEL SSDHAF case, wonderful coolingWindows 7 ultimate 64 bit

Quite nice card, every thing looks fantastic. Dirt 2, Metro 2003, Battlefield BC2, and every little thing else I have played, appear amazing. Really really extremely fast. I am not sure of some persons's claims that it doesn't get extremely warm. I am not certain they are pushing it. Download OC Scanner from EVGA and run the stress test, or superior yet, download furmark. That'll heat it up I don't care what you do unless it water cooled it'll hit 90 or greater. I had to readjust my fans and place a more rapidly fan blowing across the video card, but still it tops at 92 to 93C running furmark. Idles at 42 to 44. Space temp, 73 to 75F. Gosh I adore this card. Wish I could have two, but 1, that's way to much energy and I would have to upgrade my power provide. But not prior to my wife either killing me, or divorcing me and taking my wonderful video card away. :) Utilizes lots and lots of power. I have an i7, and at ilde I use about 210, to 215 watts. But ramp this factor up, by playing metro 2003 and my personal computer starts sucking nearly 500 watts of power. I have an 850 watt energy provide, but my lord, that's a lot of power. Make certain your laptop or computer can handle that a lot power draw. I do really like this card, it's remarkable and it's quickly. I just read about an additional ATI driver issue with Just Bring about 2 that the Catalyst ten.4 drivers make that game unplayable. I am glad I am an nvidia fanboy. I have always disliked ATI, and it's not because of their hardware, they have great hardware. They just try and do to much wizardry with their drivers. I have by no means cared for their drivers since negative drives make wonderful hardware bad. Simple as that. I just wish this card ran a bit cooler. But it is undertaking a lot.

Pretty great card keeps cool even even though it is factory clock. The factor you will enjoy about this card is the reality that it blows every thing away. Plus in the future if you believe you are lagging you can o/c this beast even much more. Only con I would say is that the fan gets actually loud when it gets hot, other than that no concerns for me

Can effortlessly max out any game at 1680x1050. I previously had a BFG GTX295, and this card is way much more effective.Runs fairly cool I guess. Idles at 45C....stays about 70-75C on MW2 and BFBC2. The highest it's gone is 88C on Metro 2033.MW2, BFBC2, Metro 2033(you ought to see how wonderful this game looks maxed in DX11 running at 50-60+ fps). It came with a fan monitoring system on the CD. I can see my GPU temp on my G15 keyboard's screen, which is pretty cool. I am extremely content with this card. waiting for Crysis two to really test this point out. I hope I can manage it with the 480. I just know I'll have to obtain one more card by April. We'll see. I ordered a BFG GTX 295 back in March. It kept freezing and giving constant DirectX errors. So I had to get this card.Newegg is great. Free of charge shipping, cost-free copy of Mafia II with this card, and it got right here in less than 2 days.

Excellent card will run something you throw at it and then some. I started playing Starcraft 2 for the very first time and the thing started to fry soon after 30 min of play the fan was just about on max but it began to fry the gpu the screen went all pixelated and then froze had to force reboot then i tried to play a diverse game but its just all artifacts now so 3d is burnt now all i can do is 2d till i get my advanced RMA Evga created a fantastic card but demands to update the section of the firmware that consists of the fan speed table to levels that are more acceptable this card runs hot and i dont like things that idle at 70c+ and when gaming it should never hit 95c prior to the fan kicks to max. Please rethink the fan speed table in the firmware.

They can max out any game with no complications. Looks genuinely nice also! They run super hot. You have to control the fans on your own simply because they cards can get up to 90c and the fans only run at 50%.I bought two of these babies, And a single of them blew up on me a couple of days immediately after purchasing it. :( Kinda sucks but Newegg was wonderful in cross shipping and getting me a new 1! Make shure you have a case that can give sufficient air flow for these. An a huge enough psu.I run them off a AX1200.NewEgg was the ideal! Thanks once more!

The card itself is wonderful. I had two 260's in SLI and I could run crysis on max settings minus antialiasing at about 20-30 fps. With this card I can run max antialiasing and 60 fps. If I use the nvidia manage panel to enchance settings to 32x antialiasing, it nonetheless runs amazingly smooth. Newegg has some type of scam going right here where they wont send you the coupon for the cost-free game. A single you make contact with them they will say it was some kind of error and that they will submit a separate order for it. Then they will say you purchased it prior to the date that the coupon was provided. The trick here is that the only proof you have is that you saw the red text, so Newegg will tell you that you just imagined it. The card itself deserves 5 eggs, but I didn't spend 500 bucks to be riped off the 39.99 that the game is worth. So I gave it 4 eggs. When a item is advertised as a package with one thing else, you rate it based on the complete package.

Initially off, I got the gigabyte version on sale, but this card seems to have the most activity, and what I have to say about heat wants to be read by as quite a few individuals as humanly possible. Now, having gotten that out of the way. . .+ Fastest single GPU on the marketplace.+ You know that as drivers mature, you'll be in a position to get even far more out of your card. I think Metro 2033's performance has currently gone up ຃ or something like that just from driver updates from NVIDIA.+Overclocks like a beast. (Currently at 800񳈰 on air, without overvolting.)+ This card can run any game presently on the industry fully maxed out at a playable framerate. Even with Metro 2033, I get 35 FPS with the overclocking I mentioned ahead of. That's with tessellation on high, advanced physx, DOF, and 4x MSAA. Woohoo! Absolutely nothing genuinely. My case is pretty spacious, so there was no difficulty fitting it in. Make positive you have sufficient power for this baby, specifically if you strategy on overclocking it. I have an 850w Corsair, but you can possibly get away with much less than that with a single card. The fan noise is probably loud, but I don't notice it simply because I use noise-decreasing headphones when I game. If the fan noise is too loud for you, I'd highly recommend carrying out the similar. In my opinion, the rampant worrying about graphics cards running hot is Completely unfounded. My last card was an 8800 GTX, and it generally operated at temps in the 90s. It's been 3 years, and I nevertheless haven't had any complications with running a card at that temperature. And I game A LOT.As lengthy as this card isn't touching any other components in your case, temps in the 90s while gaming is Fully ACCEPTABLE. You are not going to warp your motherboard, or any silly nonsense like that. When EVGA or any other manufacturer says that high-end cards like these are designed to run hot, that is exactly what they mean!So cease unnecessarily fretting about your card overheating, or catching on fire, or melting your computer, and enjoy the awesomeness in gaming that a 480 GTX supplies :)

Destroys all competition! I upgraded from 260s in SLI. Operating very smooth, no complications at all! In games like Lotro/WoW/CoDMW2/BC2 every little thing is wonderful. None. I ran 3dMark Vantage and got 11k GPU 43k CPU with the 260s in SLI. Then I put this negative boy in, and my CPU shot up to 53k, though my GPU sat around 13k. I don't truly know why, it sounds incredibly low since I've seen non-OC'd rigs hit about 23k easy.

-Knocks out almost everything I throw at it-Quickly-DirectX 11-Price/performance ratio compared to GTX 570 or 580 (see other thoughts)-EVGA lifetime warranty as long as you Keep in mind to REGISTER-Appear at the specs, what's not to enjoy-EVGA precision permits for customized fan controls -Size-- big card, wants plenty of space-Heat-- I'd venture to say you could (if you wanted to ruin 400 bucks worth of hardware) cook an egg on it. BUT, EVGA precision lets you set temperature/fan controls so that the fan kicks in when you want it to--at the speed you want it. Which helps a lot throughout game play.-Loud-- fan on high is louder than any of my case fans... but that is why I have headphones My GTX 480Unigine Heaven Benchmark (everything maxed): 36fps3Dmark Vantage: 233483Dmark 2011 : 5381The GTX 580 (from Computer Mag article)Unigine : 36fps3Dmark Vantage: 238883Dmark 2011 : 6105Presently I think the numbers speak for themselves. Although the 580 has 32 more Cuda Cores, runs at higher frequencies, and has much more memory.... the performance practically mirrors the 480. And the 480 hands down beats the 570 in all of those benchmarks as nicely. Benchmarking aside, the 480 and 580 are essentially the same... minor speed enhancements ignored. Save yourself 100 bucks and put it towards a decent processor or an SSD, or even some excellent ram. If you're receiving practically the very same card, why wouldn't you?
