EVGA P55 SLI 132-LF-E655-KR LGA1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard
Comment:
This board had most of the features I wanted without having too high a price tag tag. I was a bit skeptical about buying a MoBo with the EVGA name on it but this appears to be a fairly solid offering. A lot of case fan ports on the board also so didn't have to resort to molex power. Power/reset/clear cmos buttons on the board and CPU temp indicator too. One point to look out for is the I/O shield not getting all the metal knock outs removed. I popped it in without having looking at it closely and got the MoBo in and started assembling just before I realized this. Had to disasseble and get rid of the board to get the darn things out. Which expense me about 20 minutes. Blinking red EVGA logo on the board is intriguing.

ok ill be honest, i dont know alot about boards but what i do know is that anything i put on this board fits wonderful. it also has a digital temp read out for the cpu. its incredibly user friendly. everything is incredibly clearly marked and it'd be kinda challenging to screw factors up my only con is that the manual becoming a small much more descriptive and the swift reference becoming a small bit additional informitive, but thats it. not worth costing it a egg.

It's my initial motherboard so I genuinely can't compare it to something, but I had no significant issues and I am quite happy with my acquire. The back plate didn't have all the holes punched out and I only noticed it right after plugging anything in. Much more my fault than something. The documentation that came with it was pretty lame. Thankfully, I have the internet so it didn't truly influence the create. My ram (g skill 4GBRL) wasn't listed as compatible on the motherboards website, but it was on the ram's. It's presently running slower than listed, 1333 instead of 1600. The xmp profile does raise it, but causes the machine not to boot. I'll solve that problem later. That's also far more my fault than evga's.

Quite amazing motherboard. Plenty expansion slots to fit my need to have and fairly easy to install. LEDs on the board appear actually good inside my Centurion five case. CPU heat LED is awesome to measure temps in the course of peak performance. The installation guide. I know this has been address a couple of times by EVGA themselves, but I believe it needs mentioned again. This was my initial construct, and I tried to install the board straight to the case without the use of the brass screws. NO Where did it state that it had to sit above the actual case. Granted, this could be a difficulty with the case's guide, but the guide for this board is so basic. Just a few photos and some descriptions. Despite the negative guide, I'm nonetheless giving this 5 eggs. Don't be turned off by that, it's nonetheless worth the dollars if you're searching for a excellent 1156 motherboard.

This is a good board. Great install directions, great layout, easy bios upgrade. So far not a glitch Non so far on the item. The companies rebate scheme is a scam. 2 eggs downed for buisness practice in the rebate scheme.Need to apply on the internet and still mail all information. Sales reciept number must be enough. Also scams you into paying Ŭ.00 to get it prosessed in 7 days instead of 10 to 12 weeks. You would believe with all this technologies that 10 - 12 weeks is a scam to get you to spend or forget. If I ever purchase from this corporation once again my desision will not be produced because of a rebate supply.

EVGA's online forums and assistance seriously make acquiring this product straightforward. If you have any questions, require aid or want to understand one thing new, just go to their forums. The SLI interface functions as advertised. I'm running x2 EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX+.The RAID setups are fairly uncomplicated once you find out your way by means of the BIOS. RAID for the win. :)The MB itself has a cool seeking design. The onboard LED lights appear awesome too.All in all, this board performs, it's easy to use, functions as advertised and has a wonderful design. It's not TOO expensive but it's not inexpensive either. Oh, the optical audio outs are a good bonus.I will purchase all my intel boards by means of EVGA. Nada

None I purchased four EVGA motherboards, and 8 EVGA graphic cards. All top of the line at the time. 1 motherboard, and four graphic cards have burned out on me in just more than a year. No overclocking was done. Their return center lost 1 of the cards I sent in with authorization for a replacement, then told me that if I couldn't prove that they had it, it would not be replaced. I will never ever again obtain another EVGA item. I would also recommend to other people to steer clear of this name brand. Manufacturer Response:Hi,Please speak to me directly at jacobf@evga.com so I can provide a resolution. Please reference your Newegg post when the e mail is sent. Thanks,Jacob

Good capabilities, top quality construction, wonderful value. Extensive BIOS for tweaking. SLI-capable, will manage DDR3 2600+ Looks good too if you have a windowed case. Double power cycle if you're unaware of it. This is the very best board I've ever employed, and I've built systems working with pretty much just about every motherboard brand more than the years. POSTED initially time, set memory profile, no problems. Running Core i5 750, G-Skill DDR 1600 4GBRH, EVGA GTX 260, Corsair VX 550. This method is quick on Windows 7.

Fantastic board, has tons of capabilities and settings, wonderful troubleshooting capabilities such as power and reset buttons on the board itself. CPU temp gauge on the board SATA port placement is a small annoying if you dont have a lot of room between your tough drive and optical bays and the motherboard.

The installation was incredibly straightforward, plugged every thing in, turned on the machine, it went by means of POST and it was smooth sailing from there. The illuminated "E" on the motherboard is a good touch as nicely; its noticeable, but not annoying. I particularly love the Indicator on the motherboard that shows the double digit codes. It makes trouble shooting a hell of a lot less difficult-- good thing I didn't want to use it. What's even a lot more fantastic is that once the Pc is booted and running, the number shown on the display is the CPU temperature. I have a case with a side window so its really handy to be able to see the temperature of the CPU at a glance in no time-- this tool is specially helpful for overclockers who want to keep an eye on their temps at all occasions. The motherboards PWRLED pin connector has 2 pins, even though my case connector for the PWRLED had a three-pin connector (the middle 1 was empty). No dilemma, I just moved the cable on the case connector over to the middle 1 and produced the empty connector hang of the side. This was no critical problem though, I shouldn't even be mentioning it. My develop:G. So far so great. got my i5 750 to 3.0ghz first try and its working wonderful. Fantastic BIOS, uncomplicated to operate with and understandable. lots of capabilitieslooks nicethe LED readout starting to post number that i couldn't discover the manual, then i found out its also a CPU Temp Readout. the "double begin" thing on this motherbaord is a little odd and freaked my out the very first time, ive in no way seen a motherboard do that before. but i guess its typical. Overall excellent motherboard.

The motherboard looks good and has a solid list of attributes. I did not use the SLI or PhysX but so I can\'t comment on the effectiveness of these capabilities. The quickstart guide was quite helpful. When I very first installed all of my components and turned it on it did a "dual boot." Basically the board initializes for about two-three seconds and turns off; about a second later, the board re-initializes and turns on as usual. As far as I could tell this board does that when overclocking features are employed. I'm not confident why it takes place but its only a minor nuisance for me. The board has a built in speaker which beeps a couple occasions depending on how many usb components you have plugged in. My setup had 3 beeps for 2 internal headers and 1 wireless kb/mouse. I'm guessing theres a possibility of considerably a lot more than three beeps. That I have not yet tested.

this MB dose every thing it says to. and i am extremely pleased with it, with on borde reset/power on /cmos rest it makes anything significantly much much easier then befor, and the display on borde is also a great tool when you stuck at start out up or just tring to look for temp with out having anything set up so far. i havnt uncover something that cuse me a difficulty however, but of cures i am not a large fan on overclocking . the only thing happend when i was setting up almost everything is i had a poor tough drive delived to me and spend about 2day tring to uncover what the dilemma is, soon after test out on various PCs in the home and locate out it wouldnt even pass bios on most of the PC i went got a new drive and every little thing worked fine.

Setup quick n straightforward. Tons of OC options n attributes. Combine this with a i7 CPU and makes a killer Pc for gaming, video encoding or something else ya wanna toss at it. Bit pricey, but when you factor in the ability to use a socket 775 HSF that most peeps already have from say a prior develop...the added cost compared to other boards makes it all that much much more attractive. Also this mobo supports both SLI AND CF. I haven't tried the CF setup but, but SLI works just fantastic. (other than the common CF/SLI probs) I'm sure CF would be just as great. I have used a single ATI on the board and no difficulties there. As excellent as the dual socket HSF config...there are a couple probs. If you appear closely at the socket region...you'll see the 775 mounting holes are offset (turned a couple of degrees) from the 1156 holes. The 775 hsf will mount up fine, but if you use something other than the stock cooler, like a bolt thru/backing plate sort, the original backing plate on the mobo protrudes a bit too far to mount up the aftermarket 1. You can not take off the stock plate and replace it with the aftermarket 1. You should cut the mobo tray to enable the added depth of the 2nd mounting plate. Not a major deal, but a thing you possible buyers need to know. I didn't and it kinda got me off guard. Lastly, when you do get the aftermarket hsf mounted..it will be tilted or must say twisted a few degrees (noticeable for sure). It will not have clearance troubles, but it will appear odd. My remedy...I had to grind off the tiny mounting "pins" that kept my Zalman 9700 in alignment so I could spin it to. -1 egg Voodoo Rage F1 Case, Corsair HX620, 2x2 gb GSkill Trident 1600, Raptor X, WD 640AAKS, i7 860 ʄ.0ghz.

Great motherboard, amazing functions, nicely supported, good value * don't obtain this board for SLI, slots are too close.. obtain the F-T-W board.* two x8 slots, when applied for SLI, is a bummer.. wish it wasn't another 贄 to get two x16 slots... SLI won't work at all till I did a bios upgrade (shipped with 9ǟǟ bios) -- would just black-screen and die. Black screen would take place, once again, soon after a reboot, as soon as you logged in. Only recovery was to take away a card.

easy install booted appropriate first time..Quite solid running of windows 7 and xp dual boot...I DO NOT overclock....dont feel necessary at these speeds. I dont want to fry anything. Technical help once you register your board is superb....On the other hand see below. Must configure sata as ide for windows xp install and operating it. You Have to use winxp sp2...So if you have dual boot and want ahci for windows 7 you will have to change sata config in bios. There were issues with motherboard even although it ran nicely....ps2 mouse became non functioning to enter bios but worked in windows. wellness in both bios and with software in windows showed იv as 7.9v...There for minus two eggs for getting to return the board. You have to update bios to get rid of suddenly losing sound which is not documented in their bios updates. Had to RMA the board because of cons listed above...Waiting for one more board which will almost certainly take a week or much more.

Beautifully produced, high attention to detail. Dual BIOS's so you can choose a 2nd BIOS (if a flash fails, you want to keep an older BIOS for some reason). Intelligent layout, CMOS reset buttons on outside of case and inside. MB mounted secondary energy and reset buttons. BIOS has tons of choices for every single objective imaginable. Very easily overclocked with the provided utility. three year warranty if you register the board within 30 days of purchase. Directions are extremely weak; even the instructions on the eVGA site leave a lot to be desired. Though there are quite a few fan headers on the MB, they are tough to manage, even with utilities like Speedfan. Proper now I have not figured out how to slow down my case fans with the supplied utilities or BIOS. If you just want a MB to put in the case and use, this Motherboard is overkill. It's for people who like to tweak and fiddle. If you like to put your motherboard in a case with a window, the style is certainly gorgeous.

no pros so far I have a lifetime warranty EVGA board with two EVGA 8800 GTS cards. The complete method is SLI approved, the case and all. I went with EVGA right after reading the ASUS reviews and regret my option. Tech Support and lifetime warranties are meaningless if they do not stand behind them. To date I have over 30 emails from EVGA on a method that I have not ever been able to use as it is so unstable. They blame my systems difficulties on every little thing but what is the trigger, EVGA. I have replace my Antec blue 650 PSU when they said that was the concern. I now have a Antec TR750 tri-rail. Then it was the memory, so I replaced the 4 gig of OCZ memory. Then they said it was the Bios, so I reset that. Then it was my video cards so to verify them I ran just one and it blue screened. Switched to the other one, blue screens. Ran a recognized to be excellent ATI Radeon, blue screens. So there solution now is not to respond to my support requests. I guess the thought is I will lastly give up. I am just acquiring extremely incredibly mad. I do 3D AutoCAD. The build was not for gaming but for customer presentation. My four year old ASU based system runs like a champ but can only deal with one monitor. The hope was to so run two monitors so clients could see modifications as they had been made without having needing to lean over my desk to see the screen. Sadly EVGA has been a total let down.
