Worked good, I had to flash to fix the Vreg reporting problem, but it functions properly, my RAM runs at 1600 with out any issues just enabled the XMP profile. Had to flash it once I got it to repair mis-reported vreg temps, but not a massive deal. I wish they had a much better controller for the SATA three's

This is the ideal motherboard I have ever owned. It has tons of BIOS functions and is Quite stable when overclocking a Core i7 930. I am able to overclock my 930 to four.02Ghz devoid of any work! g10 hours Prime stable and 30 passes on IntelBurn high. I normally use Gigabyte boards and reaching overclocking stability took days/weeks. Endless hours of voltage tweaking are now a point of the past. Just give this infant a tiny juice (vcoreӭ.3v) and youre very good to go!This board shows a lot of possible. 4.02Ghz is just the beginning of our journey!Aesthetically this board is stunning. The gray and black along with the NB heat sink appear extremely sleek and great. The board appears definitely Amazing inside a Corsair Obsidian 800D.General I have no complaints, I Adore THIS BOARD! Its not affordable but you do get what you spend for. High-end boards like this make overclocking a breeze. It is worth it if youre addicted to overclocking. three-way SLI and Crossfire capability....How can you not love this board??!

Uncomplicated BIOS alterations. Great thing, as you'll have set the memory to manufacturer settings and up the voltages based on the CPU. EVGA Support suburb and extremely helpful. Does anything it says it will. You'll be really pleased with this board. I was really frustrated with this board. I'm not a serious overclocker and typically run BIOS in AUTO. Had important stability difficulties until setting memory and CPU voltages and timings. When I got these right, WOW, it flies. Don't let the need to set BIOS parameters sterr you away. Once you get them set correct, you'll be a happy camper.

This board is excellent. Solid overclocking (intel i7 930 " 4.2Ghz easy!), atx, 3x SLI, fantastic looking. lots of connections and decent onboard sata 3 raid controller. Runs a small warm ࿡*C) on the NB, and mosfets. you will defiantly want to install a 40mm chipset fan on the northbridge. it just screwsa into the NB unter the evga logo with some š machine screws.

This board was in a position to deal with my intel core i7 930 at four.4ghz on aircooling, temps got a bit high, but hey thats standard with those kinds of clock speeds.Straightforward to function with and fairly NB does get a bit hot, but you shouldn't be operating your technique at high overclocks on a regular basis, you hardly ever want to push it that far anyways Dummy O.C. feature is nice since it lets you get a good low (day to day) overclock without genuinely worrying about temps, it didn't change my voltage or anything and was easily able to get my core i7 930 to three.two Ghz with no noticeable temp distinction. Straightforward to install. labeling and pin setups simple to access. Board is now failed. Purchased it Oct. 2010 and currently the post code is F3 followed by F6 followed by 62 and it cycles once more after a shutdown. Six months for an expensive board is just too brief. I use it for my organization, now I get to overnight one more board at my expense so I can function. Checked the forums at EVGA and I am not alone with this issue. But, fortunately it hasn't been solved either. I like EVGA for their video cards. I am not positive I would ever try a different motherboard.

Runs stable compared to the older EVGA boards that I've had (the pleasure?) dealt with. Watch out, I had to manually clock the RAM as it would default to the lower settings. Mine along with a friend's does a weird power up sequence. It turns on for a second or two then powers down for two seconds then powers back on a posts. Not actually a con, I've never ever had a board that brought on this just before though. It's a excellent board, but I've had much better. Genuinely absolutely nothing to note that would cause me to knock off an egg as it's bee solid and stable with the i7 930 + 12 GB G.Skill 1600 ripjaw ram.i7 930corsair 850 PSU12 gb GSkill ramati 5870 OCZ Vertex2 60GB SSD2xWD 1.5 TB black

I'm genuinely pleased with this motherboard. The overclock capabilities and the limited lifetime warranty is wonderful. Supports regular audio and hd audio connectors. fantastic quantity of usb ports. Plenty of SATA connections. The eleet tool enables you to view and adjust quite a few motherboard settings although operating. VREG and northbridge are passively cooled. The northbridge cooler is a bit obtrusive, but they both do the job of keeping temps down.If you dont have an air cpu cooler, the vreg does not get significantly additional cooling so monitor it to see if you will need extra cooling there. Make positive you register on the internet to get the restricted warranty, otherwise it is only valid for 30 days.Excellent online community at evga forums to support with your overclocks.

usb 3, sata 6.0gbps the board had troubles outright, wouldn't recognize any ram from two diverse sets, i rmaed the 1st one thinking it may be a bent pin, they sent me a new board and the challenge persists. there is some strange bandwidth choking with my two hd 6850s resulting is random hickups and freezes. a look at forums showed that it is one of those problems that doesnt have a 'sure-fire' fix. I've tried all of the fixes listed from a google search no luck. hopefully my friend will come more than and help fix. i7 970, 2xhd6950, 2x3gb muskin, most directX games have a freezing moment when the engine 1st loads up. games like call of duty black ops freeze when you 1st see a texture... due to the fact the map loaded... this may well be the video card... even with shader warming on.

EVGA has wonderful tech support, I was in a position to get a number of concerns answered just before I even bought the board. It looks wonderful, has plenty of connectivity, good for overclocking, will boot to PCIe SSD. People today were not happy about the lack of eSATA but just get a case with front or leading eSATA and you're great. (CoolerMaster HAF 932) PSǘ port? Seriously? Passive cooled northbridge?? Actually? Audio header is too close to PCI slot, created it a small tight but nonetheless works. Cons are there but minimal, not enough to even take a star off. Any individual who is acquiring this board Requires to look into a PCIe SSD, speeds are downright precognitive, OCZ RevoDrive is awesome. If you are going to drop 趸 on a board, do oneself a favor and do the identical for your OS drive.

Solid Board. x1 slot does get covered by video card. I moved my card lower to access the x1 slot, but it's definitely created the drives tough to function with. Why is there a metal tab covering the second NIC? I installed the rear plugs face plate with no actually looking at it. It turns out that you have to get rid of the metal tab covering the second NIC port. I installed every thing and realized this later. So i have only 1 NIC available till i tear apart the method for whatever reason. My previous dual NIC boards didn't do this. Maybe this is how EVGA does it, this is my 1st EVGA dual NIC board.

This board as was mentioned even yesterday here (then comments deleted), is getting some VREG temperature problems. Seems that the BIOS update is a 'quick fix' and they are going to enable advanced RMA for the 'complete fix'. Just so you know when ordering this item if you don't like seeing high temps you may possibly have to RMA with EVGA.Not positive what their 'complete fix' consists of. Having to possibly RMA a brand new board.

USB three., SATA III and so far I've had best reliability. The voltage and overclocking capability is specifically what I expected and much more. The E-LEET software is cool n' all but I generally use it strictly for monitoring. When it comes to altering clocks and voltage it's greatest to use the BIOS and that's what I do. When I 1st booted up I went through all of the clock and voltage settings quite cautiously and located that by default the DIMM voltage was automatically being set to 1.7v. I felt this was a bit too high and was able to adjust no difficulty. Just figured I would give a heads up. At times I don't trust the "auto" setting anyway. Several of you know it can be risky for overlocking when particular voltage is set to "auto". I've not had the chance yet to utilize the USB 3. or the SATA III so I can't say considerably about their reliability. Furthermore, I haven't had any troubles with the vreg temp readings but then again I was quick to flash the board shortly immediately after building so I'm confident that did the trick.Core i7 930G.Skill PI Series at 1600MHz Ɩ gigsǙ x 2 gigs)XFX HD5870Samsung F3 1TB

Bla Bla all the stuff people have previously said. Default ethernet settings are beyond logic Basically for the last few months I have been wracking my brain questioning why the hell my LAN speeds had been abysmal. I have been acquiring below three MB/s because I got this PC and it was producing me actually mad.Currently I choose to check the Jumbo Frames and realized it was DISABLED. This is fascinating due to the fact my small file server and zotac HTPC don't even have an choice of becoming disabled. They are 1514(MTU򕒬) by default. If you are having disgusting LAN Speeds you may also have overlooked some thing like this, which need to never ever have happened. This is an example of a device that has TOO quite a few selections. But hey I learned something new.

I don't know if there was anything good about it mainly because we in no way got them to function suitable. But EVGA consumer service did aid us to troubleshoot and there wasn't a very long wait time for our calls to be answered. We bought two of these boards mainly because we had been rebuilding our systems. Neither board worked correct. The 1st 1 in no way got past the FF post error and immediately after spending an entire day troubleshooting and calling EVGA tech support we finally just gave up.The second board gave the exact same FF post error, but with troubleshooting we were able to get it to boot up. But then we had problems acquiring into the bios and it kept saying no keyboard connected. So we would unplug the keyboard, plug it back into the same exact spot and then it would recognize it.It wouldn't recognize any RAM in DIMM slot 1. It failed to boot when the RAMM was actually set to 2000mhz. It forced us to reinstall Windows even although there was already a working copy on the challenging drive which we did not replace. We finally had adequate and gave up on this 1 too. We replaced these with another brand motherboard and had our systems up and operating in less than an hour each and every.

Stable. Very good Documintation. Uncomplicated to setup. EVGA support. Runs Cool. Quite Uncomplicated BIOS. None to think of. I had the F7 error as well. It turned out to be my sata II cable was not connected effectively to my challenging drive. As soon as I corrected that, no a lot more difficulties. Maybe not adequate fan connectors. The manual says it has 6, but there are only 5; Ƒ) 4 pin for the cpu and Ɣ) 3 pins. The rear reset button you can\'t press it with your finger. You have to use a pencil. Also it does not have an optical out for sound link other boards in it's cost range if that is crucial to you. But to me those are not adequate to knock it down. For the price of 224.99 on sale it can\'t be beat. For the retail cost I would suggest selecting something else. All the temps are fantastic. Idle cpu temp is 27-29c; Under load it is 67-70c all cores. VREG is at 67c. I extremely reccomend this motherboard. You cannot go wrong.

Nice board. It has several nice functions. I like they put a reset button on the back of the board to have effortless access from outside the case. Went to boot up and I got a black screen. No signal. Checked error lcd and I was acquiring a 7f. 7f can be related to bad bios, poor graphics cards, or bad pci slot.Tried to reset bios. Removed the battery like recommended from EVGA. Tried to reset by the lil red button.Tried a superior card from another technique. Still get the error.Tried in all the slots for PCIE. No luck.Tested EVGA 460's I had in another machine and they worked fin. Was a small sad. GPU is less complicated then MB.Appears like there is lots of room for a large Heatsink. I have had such superior luck with EVGA, in the past, I just put mine on. Must of tested it initial. Save me from having to get rid of paste and attempt not to bend CPU.I saw somebody complaining about video cards covering up HD audio plug. Yes this is true; on the other hand, if you plug it in very first you will be ok. Had a lot of room among the card and plug.Bottom line I am disappointed. I have applied EVGA for years. I have always suggested them. I hope it is a fluke; even though, I am questioning if I should attempt this 1 again or get a distinct MB.I know there are constantly going to be RMA or DOA. I just hate to get them. It would have been a good method. Dang it. Manufacturer Response:Hello,Im sorry to see you are experiencing problems. Incredibly excellent and stable board for overclocking, specifically with a i7 990x Gulftown @ 4.6Ghz. Superior bandwidth and throughput for the north bridge. All in all, 1 of the greatest boards I have ever owned!! The only 2 things I had an issue with had been:a.) The Marvell Sata three. controller needed a firmware update to recognized my Sata three. drive. It also resolved an concern with the Marvell controller freezing during the post.b.) The supplied cables are great.....with the exception that NO Sata three. cables are included. And ahead of you jump to conclusions, I talked with a Senior Engineer at Western Digital, and eVGA, and each have told me that Sata three. is brand new, and is nonetheless in Draft, and not an business normal.....However! So, you will require to obtain a separate Sata three. cable from Newegg, in order to make use of the Sata 3. capability. I bought a Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme cooling heat sink/fan. The stuff they give you, and the thermal compound are more than I ever expected...didn't take considerably to place on the processor(very ultra thin layer!), and it idles at a astonishing 18 degrees Centigrade!! Running full bore, and overclocked to 4.6Ghz, this puppy nonetheless keeps the processor at a cool 40 deg. The heat sinks on the motherboard take a small advantage of this cooling energy (just a small though). Overall, the encounter with the board and the tech support at eVGA make me say, this is a have to acquire!!!

Great layout of SATA ports... lots of fan connectors and items like that. Also the BIOS firmware is very superior, lets you tweak anything. The dummy overclock and auto-voltage adjusting makes overclocking a breeze (though it is quite tame if you do the dummy OC).Also, has high-speed SATA ports! (which the method identifies at SAS) Alright, let's do this.1) Whoever at EVGA decided that a GAMER BOARD really should have a passive cooled northbridge need to be fired. I'd suggest you buy an aftermarket cooler for it unless you want your case to initiate fusion since that NB cooks at 50C while sitting at the BIOSŌ) The CPU energy connector is in a completely terrible spot. As soon as the Mobo with CPU cooler were in my case, it was practically impossible to plug it in, I had roughly an inch of space to work with.three) As mentioned by one more poster, CMOS changes require it to boot twice. This is annoying (at first I believed it was broken) and almost certainly not good for hard drives.4) A passive cooled northbridge? Seriously?five) Only two on-board USB connectors for chassis USB ports.6) The driver disk installs a lot of stuff and I have no idea what any of it was. What the heck is Marvell Magni? Why can't someone make a Tri-SLI motherboard that *doesn't* block all the PCI slots? The only thing that stops me from performing Tri-SLI is the reality that I bought a nice sound card and I *am* going to use it. Replace that tiny PCI slot nobody uses on top with a full-size PCI-E. Bam.
