Bought these to go in an M4A78 Pro motherboard from Asus and at that time was operating an Athlon 64 4800+ and anything was wonderful at stock. These did/ do not play nicely or even function when paired with a Phenom II cpu and the M4A78 Pro motherboard. Technique fans turn on, drives spin up, no beeps, no display, no post. Ended up costing me at least a months time in researching the concern and when I went out and bought a low-cost value ram from essential for testing purposes the method booted with out a hitch. The cause for 2 eggs is since of incompatability frustration and a lack of response from client support regarding the modules. Gave the added egg because they've worked with an older cpu for practically a year and they'll nevertheless operate effectively as long as I'm not running a Phenom II cpu in the board as well.Oh and yes I flashed the bios, reseated all components, swapped DIMMs out from slot to slot, etc. In the past I've been a die hard Corsair/ Kingston fan and I guess I need to have in no way tried one particular of the contenders searching to make a splash on their beat. Do your investigation if you plan on purchasing these modules. Confident they appear to perform for most folks but there's usually a mixture out there that'll give you fits. I wish they had a configurator like vital to tell you which modules would operate in your program. That just rocks. Manufacturer Response:.Dear BuyerWe are sorry to hear you had such an concern with your memory pacakge. The AMD Phenom II processors do have troubles running DDR2-1066 with older AM2/AM2+ based motherboards, which is why they state the limitation. "Due to AMD CPU limitation, DDR2 1066 is supported by AM2+/AM3 CPU for one DIMM per channel only"Our technical support department is available through e-mail, forum and telephone. Hasn't died on me considering that I got it pretty much 2 years ago (although occasionally I wish it would). That is the reason it has two eggs. I have tried anything to get it to run in 1066 Mhz. I've tried 1 slot, 2 slots yellow, 2 slots black, +CPUNB voltage, +HT voltage, +CPU voltage, greater memory voltage, and 1066 Mhz will not run. Have also tried 4-4-4-12 800 Mhz and it becomes unstable. I will not RMA b/c I want my Pc to do function. It also apparently boots up on my method as 5-five-five-18 as default memory timings (should be five-5-5-15) and I have manually changed it. This RAM is on my Asus M3N72-D's QVL as operating as 1066. This problem is very apparent as numerous other sites and forums reveal a similar issue and not 1 of them posts a definitive remedy. Has G.Skill ever heard of statistical approach manage? Or are they still making use of acceptance sampling? It is either negative high quality design, poor method excellent, or deceptive advertising. I will not be purchasing G.Skill RAM again. Manufacturer Response:.Dear ClientWe are sorry to hear you are having such troubles. Regrettably this is ordinarily not a memory concern. AMD CPUs are not totally capable of DDR2-1066 natively, which is the cause why boosting CPU-NB and HT Voltage is needed. But based on your test results, this certain case may well be a issue with the memory. You must be capable of DDR2-800 4-four-4-12 2.0V with no a difficulty. Please contact our technical support department directly to troubleshoot this difficulty. To confirm what I am saying, test the memory on an Intel platform and you must have no issues.Thank youGSKILL SUPPORTQuality and consumer service are our leading priorities.Tech Support Email: ustech@gskillusa.comRMA Dept E-mail: rma@gskillusa.comG.Skill Forum: http://www.gskill.us/forum/

Cool heatshieldLasts 4-five years Lasts 4-5 years I've owned this for more than 4 years. However, my computer is beginning to seriously screw up (hardware related). It will freeze 95% of the time when attempting to boot, and it will even freeze through BIOS. I get answers that my memory may well be the difficulty, but I haven't verified yet. Manufacturer Response:.Dear ConsumerThank you for your G.Skill buy and evaluation. Glad to hear the memory has been operating well for several years. Now that it may have gone defective, fortunately you bought G.Skill and you can attain a new replacement! Basically overlook the RMA procedures on our web site, send the memory in, and we will be in a position to send you new modules that need to solve the difficulty. What you can do is test each stick individually to see which may well be causing the errors. Stable,Very good cost,Rock solid for a workstation (Prime95 and burn in tests went on as long as I wanted with no errors at all!)Never have had an problem with G.Skill in the 60+ machines I maintain. None, works as it need to. I am running these in a workstation where I want stability but with no paying for the brand name :DSide note if you are using/or going to use a Foxconn A7DA-S board, put your timing to 5-5-five-15 and make confident you are at 2.0V (default was 1.8V for me) Also make positive to bump up the memory clock if your cpu can 񡺪Mhz for AM2+)Ran Prime95 and Bit and had no issue at all!

Very good memory. Truly boosted my method's speed. Comes set for 800 instead of 1066, but it was effortless sufficient to fix. Ahead of updating my BIOS, Windows only read this and the 1g stick of ballistix I got as 2.75g. An update to my bios and mainboard drivers fixed everything. Cons? Wish I'd ordered it sooner? Newegg, all the way... They have a superior slogan. And it works.. Once you know, you Newegg.

Function as advertised supplied you have a CPU capable of accessing the 1066mhz memory speeds. An Intel CPU with a native FSB of 800 or much less will not make use of the speed extension. Go with 800speed ddr2 or upgrade your cpu to 1 with a superior FSB if your CPU's native FSB is 800mhz or much less. shall i say one thing like "it doesn't give me a back rub?" pentium e5300 2.6gzh 800mhz FSB allowed access to 667 and 800 speeds. pentium e6500 2.83ghz 1066mhz FSB allowed access to 667, 800, and 1066. Set to 667 I clocked the e5300 to three.13ghz and the memory is running at 800mhz in conjunction. Stable in prime95 12+hrs. set to 800 I clocked the e6500 to 3.41ghz and the memory is operating at 964mhz in conjunction. also stable in prime95 12+ hours.1.85v in both situations

Soon after getting played with the timings and voltages, was able to OC this to almost 1200, but it's been a although, so I don't recall the settings. Reset to stock, and all is operating excellent. Memtest passes two sets of these every single time I have run it to debug something on my method, so I know it ain't the RAM. Rock stable, and helping to keep my pc running smooth. They can get warm, depending on what I'm performing; wish the heat spreaders were a small a lot more beefy, but they are fine as it is. Works at 800 speed? Could not get memory to run at 1066 on Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H with AMD x2 245. Applied several bios settings recommened on G.Skill site, no luck. Runs fine at 800. Wont bother returning as it was for a fast low finish create for a friend and I doubt there would be a lot performance distinction, plus this was pretty low cost. From what I discovered online, it appears that this memory works much better for Intel chipsets rather than AMD. I have had good luck with G.Skill in the past so purchased this without doing a lot investigation initial. This seems to be a lot more of an issue with the AMD chipsets rather than the memory itself. Manufacturer Response:.Dear CustomerThank you for your G.Skill invest in and evaluation. We apologize for the inconvenience. Some of the Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H motherboards could have concerns operating this memory package at DDR2-1066. Currently we are working on a solution. Meanwhile if you would like to use the memory at its potential, set memory timings to tCL four - tRCD four - tRP 4 - tRAS 12 - Command Rate 2T, memory frequency to DDR2-800, and memory voltage to 2.0V. This is only a temporary resolution though we attempt to resolve the issue with Gigabyte and AMD relating to this motherboard. I bought two sticks of this stuff practically two years ago. They've been working wonderful given that then so about a month ago I bought two far more. Haven't had a single difficulty with any of them. none I could get 2 sticks to overclock a little without any problems, but it appears practically impossible to get four sticks to do any quantity of overclocking. I'm using a Gigabyte P35 DS3L motherboard, which is pretty much definitely the difficulty due to the fact I could overclock with 2 sticks just fine. I could have to drop the frequency to 800MHz.
