Excellent functions at the expense.Newegg support! thanks. + Two eggs for that. I had two concerns. şThe speakers produced continous noises.. no, it wasnt the over temp alarm... disabled onboard sound, installed a PCI sound card. Nonetheless noisy. Š The oem software program by no means really worked.Gigabyte support average at ideal. Occasionally things just don't work i guess.. Acquiring an additional MB from newegg.

This board gives fantastic options for expandability considering it's only around 100 clams. X6 compatibility, six internal SATA, 2 SATA six, two external SATA, USB 3.. I've loaded in two WD Blacks, 1 WD Green and an older Seagate. I'd put in additional, but I lack the drive space. I dropped in 4 sticks of Corsair XMS DDR3 for a total of 8 gigs and its operating flawlessly. BIOS is a bit diverse than I am utilised to with ASUS boards but not so poor that I can't READ and figure issues out. Also liked the barebones nature. I don't need far more screws, IDE or floppy cables. Thanks for that! Hmmm, well with a cheap board you ought to expect some problems will arise.Correct out of the box I noticed the infamous loose Northbridge heatsink. I remedied this with a pair of washers from an old water block mounting kit and some new thermal grease. Tight as you can get it now and no wobble, but still...why should I do that? The non-normal board size (read, you can't attach the edge of the board to mounting points) makes for some nerve racking flex when installing the 24 pin power and the last stick of RAM (had to do it in the case to get around the water line). Not becoming able to boot to an IDE CD drive. I don't know if this is a motherboard BIOS setting(I checked and every thing was set to IDE), a issue with the IDE port, or an problem with the DVD drive (worked fine in my last construct). I went and bought a LG SATA DVD drive for ม from yet another retailer and was finally in a position to boot and install W7 x64.Going to purchase the MOSFET heatsink to make positive I don't fry the board For the cost and the configuration options this is a superior get. Reading the reviews here and at other web-sites I decided the risks were worth it.I program to OC with the board so I will absolutely be obtaining the Enzotech heatsink.AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8GhzGigabyte GA-870a-UD3eVGA 9800GT1x640 GB WD Caviar Black1x1 TB WD Caviar Black1x2 TB WD Caviar Green1x250 GB Seagate

Very Flexible and stable motherboard... will use it on future builds. only one, and it is not the motherboard fault, but newegg failed to report the extra power want, it needs 2x4 power connectors to the mother in addition to the 24 pin connector.

It's an OK board. Has SATA three connections. Runs an AMD 1090t and any other 6 core AMD processor Cons are so numerous, I don't know were to start. No 1600 mhz support(becoming the new normal). Onboard sound is terrible. The board flexs like crazy when installing ram or anything else on to it. Loose NB heatsink. It feels inexpensive in each way. It works, just don't get your hopes up about performing any overclocking with the 1090t!!! Any try will cause bsods crash dumping nightmares. If your seeking for a beginner board, you identified it, otherwise go with the 890 boards for a little additional cash.

Amazing board for the cost. The physical features of the board are outstanding, as are the software capabilities you get. It looks great as properly. For some cause when I run the ET6 software I get crackling and popping in my speakers and my headset (tried a usb and regular jack form.) When the software is closed it's fine. Not sufficient to knock an egg off although.

No Issues with dual boot technique (XP 32bit and Win 7 64bit)Each systems installed with out a hitch. Non-Common ATX (good factor I had some old plastic stubs for support on inside edge of board)Only 2 SATA cables Motherboards are coming with IDE ports, floppy ports, printer ports, USB ports and no cables to use them. I guess they want to make an extra 3 bucks.

looks good, ought to be cool if it's functional. I truly regret for not contemplating those evaluations with lengthy cons listed. Based on my encounter I believe those MB really should have been tested just before sent out and there need to be so quite a few negative ones as the evaluations shows, possibly they were just unlucky. Now I became 1 of them, after receiving everything of my new create. I had a worst journey with a brand new PC. I had just about every cons mentioned in the other reviews except DOA, maybe that's far better then I could save some time on trouble shooting. loose north/south heat-sink, im not confident whether or not it's designed like that or it's a problem, but it doesn't really feel very good when you touch it.three Long beeps, immediately after replace 2 video cards it lastly turned out to be the DDR3 slots, it couldn't afford dual channel.horribly lengthy installation with windows7 64bit, my four years old pc took much less than 30min for it and this one took more than 2 hours on it and it just stunk at the last step of installation without having moving for much more than an hour. I will try to locate a way to fix that DDR slots dilemma otherwise i have to return it. it's seriously disappointing when you had been excited about new PC. Almost killed my X-mas gift to myself. Much more expansion ports than I've ever seen on an entry level board, including a really good Firewire controller. It has holes drilled for a VRM heatsink, which will fit an Enzotech MST-88 perfectly. I'd truly adore to see much more boards with options like this. The oft-debated TMPIN2 does indeed appear to be broken due to the fact it by no means changes, but the temperature of the north bridge heatsink reaches about 50C, so 80 isn't an unreasonable assumption for Tj.It's a skinny ATX board, which isn't unusual in this class, but Gigabyte crammed so quite a few useless extras on they had to expand it out to where standard ATX screw holes will only give you one standoff in the center for the far edge. The board will flex a bit whenever you work with the memory or ATX power connector. What's most obnoxious is that an individual obviously planned to at least give you optional screw holes if you want to mount your own standoffs, but they decided not to roll for two extra drill hits at the last second. I would have liked this board a lot more if it came mechanically secure and with a superior thermal solution. That stuff must be Job Zero, particularly on an "Ultra Durable" board. I have old S series boards from Gigabyte that are additional durable than this nonsense.

Has performed every little thing I've wanted it to up until now. Has USB 3., 6Gbps SATA, decent cost, good overclocking alternatives, and so on. Been rock solid for three months, until trying RAID... I lately tried to upgrade my program from getting an SSD boot drive and a 1TB storage drive to an SSD and 4 1TB drives in a RAID 10 array. I wouldn't mind that the board isn't operating appropriately, except for the truth that Windows can't do RAID 10 through software, and calls for hardware. When I allow RAID in the BIOS and boot, Windows 7 ࿠ bit) chokes on the swirling Windows logo and provides me a blue screen. I've updated my BIOS to the newest version. I've tried booting with the Windows 7 installation CD to come across drivers there, to no avail. I've tried installing the newest RAID drivers from Gigabyte's web page, but the newest version calls for ATi Catalyst Install Manager which DOESN'T INSTALL Correctly (maybe because I have a nVidia card, but I'm doubtful), so the drivers never ever install. If any individual at all (including Gigabyte) can support me, that'd be fantastic. Simple to install, well marked board. BIOS is simple to navigate and make changes, looks like it's straightforward to overclock. Boots fast, works quickly, I love it. The rear I/O panel didn't fairly line up with my case. I'm not positive if this is a function of the board, or my case, so I didn't take any stars off. I got it to work, it just isn't as flush as I'd like.It has a floppy IDE connector, which is handy in case Doc Brown time travels here from 1989 and needs to use a 3.five" floppy... Exceptional cost - high excellent components on board just like with their greater end ones. Supports all AMD Phenom processors, USB3 and 6GB SATA. Award bios with lots of overclocking capability. I have a Phenom II 9560 up to 4GHZ with no voltage alterations. Tons of SATA connectors. Good directions and the board is incredibly nicely marked peripheral identification. Thank you Gigabyte. Good windows based bios upgrade utility. Uncomplicated tune for Windows is quite good for somebody who doesn't want to mess with bios settings. For the income - a very nice board for those who don't want crossfire for gaming. You can only attach two front end USB adapters. Only supports 6 standoffs - could have added a couple far more for stability. Only has 1 PCI-16 slot but I knew that just before I purchased it. I wish Gigabyte offered a board without a built on graphics chip among this board and their high end one. The price differential was just too wonderful. I don't do a lot gaming so this board fit my needs just fine. I had a need for three usb front headers - the board only supplies two. This is not a huge deal - but it would have been nice if they offered 1 much more so I could have utilized all of my front USB ports. (I added a card reader to my front case that necessary one and the case necessary two.) Will have to appear into acquiring a PCI card that supplies an additional 1. I don't know why every person is getting so many troubles with this board. I can only think that some people today don't know what they are doing and are shorting them or something. Mine went in with out a hitch. Hope it stays that way. :) This board provides you a lot of function for incredibly little cost.

This is only the second time I ever gave out a 5 egg rating. All I can say is: WOW! Is there some thing this motherboard cant do? Its affordable. I've had it for 4 months and it's in no way crashed, not even once. Overclocking is so straightforward with the bios feature. Color coding enables you to quickly identify SATA2 vs SATA3 ports. Comes with several valuable applications. It is future proof with USB3 and SATA3 functions (for 105$!). I couldnt be happier with this motherboard. Gigabyte did a Amazing job. Bravo! Northbridge tempurate is 81C idle..this is extremely weird...I did my investigation on the net and its entirely typical for this motherboard. The NB heatsink is inadequate in my opinion, its not incredibly solid and its way too hot. But what can you anticipate for a 105$ motherboard..im possibly going to buy a NB heatsink with a fan sometime in the future. My program:Amd X4 phenom II black edition 965gigabyte 870A UD3gskill ripjaws 2x2gig 1600mhznvidia EVGA 8800GT (I will buy an EVGA 470GTX soon)samsung spinpoint F3silverstone olympia 650watt, 54aቨv railantec 300 illusionSuch a amazing system and it was very reasonably priced. It eats Every little thing I throw at it...but I truly need to have to upgrade my video card. Anyways, you CANT GO WRONG with this motherboard, its far better than the other 870 chipset mobos! I did my study ! Now I am so pleased

I utilised this mobo for my first construct. The install into the case was rather painless, and packaging was rather great. I have utilised it with no incident for 4 months now. One major trouble I had whilst building my initial PC was that I had to fight with the BIOS to install the operating method (Windows 7 64bit). What I suggest for any new builder is to install your OS on your tough drive from an already dependable computer. Attempting to install an OS by means of this bios is impossible. What doesn't help this is that there is pretty much no technical support inside the packaging. They could not have given you much less facts about the equipment out of the box. Though the difficulty of installing an OS is a key fault, I blame that on my own ignorance of self teaching myself and inexperience. But I have been making use of this for 4 months, speed is wonderful, and I have no complaints due to the fact the install. This is a good quality board when it gets up and running. If you are a initially time builder, you will in all probability want this board. If you know what you're doing and are seeking for a superior deal, you might want to appear elsewhere.

1) Affordable, 2) SATA, 3) USB 3. Challenging to overclock. Have tried without having good results to get my Phenom II X6 1090t to overclock to 4 Ghz. I have carried out every little thing I can think of to get it stable, and the only thing I can conclude is that this motherboard is not able to handle that sort of OC work.

Runs a Sapphire Radeon 6850 just fine. Clocking RAM up to its rated 1600 effortless in bios. Connectors/pins on mobo effectively laid out and marked. All components came up on initially powerup. Don't suggest for dual graphics card setup due to cycle sharing in between pcix slots...go with a more high priced mobo if that's your aim. However, with the AMD 68xx and Nvidia ATX series GPUs I can't picture the need for dual adapters for two-d gaming. ...but we'll see how the system holds up when I get a 3-d, 1080p monitor sometime subsequent year. I know the Radeon 6850 will hang in, might want to bump ram up to 8gb. I expect the mobo will do just fine.Comes with two sata and 1 ide cable, make positive you have extras if you have much more devices.Newegg bottom line for the rig as spec'd (w some arctic silver compound) was < 轜 following tax and shipping (monitor, keybd & mouse n/i). Nicely built board. Lots of sata and usb ports, which is the main reason I bought it. 2 pci-e slots and crossfire support. Also a lot of options in the bios, the core unlocker is fairly cool if you have a dual or tri core. Sata placements could be a challenge if running 2 big video cards...I only have 1 card correct now, but it looks like a 2nd video card would cover up 4 of the sata ports. They might still be usable, but it would undoubtedly be a tight fit. Also, I had an issue with 1 of my harddrives not showing up and I had to put it in a diverse sata port to make it function. It appears there is a master/slave system which is kind of strange to me mainly because I thought that was only related to IDE drives?
