Onboard gpu to backup a video card that might die out on you! Spacious, with ample area for 2 dual slot cards. All the connections are in pretty effortless spots to get as well, even in the Antec 900 case with the power provide on the bottom. Can get to the SATA ports even with a sasquatch 5870 hulking more than them. Sufficient space for memory as long as your cpu cooler is set up suitable. I stuck a Scythe Muguen Rev. 2 in there with the fan on bottom blowing air up to the top rated and there was sufficient area for the memory. Only came with 2 sata cables. Wish there was a heatsink on the capacitors next to the cpu, but this is meant to be a reduced end mobo, so one particular only gets so much. Also does not come with all the added usb brackets, optical, and other stuff. Doesn't bother me, don't will need it..........but just to throw it out there so people know! 13 hours and counting on Prime 95 with 4gb A-Data 1600mhz, AMD 955 Quad BE ʃ.eight stock voltage, Corsair 750 psu, Sapphire stock 5870, 2 WD Blue 500gb in Raid , Antec 900 case. So far the mobo temp (think it reads the Northbridge possibly?) is averaging 51C with Everest Ultimate Edition monitor and SpeedFan 4.42.

6. gb/s sata ports, USB three.. Overclocking my AMD Phenom II x4 965 BE quickly from three.four to three.9ǚ.. Drivers all installed with no problem. Couldn't get the right timings out of some Patriot Sector five memory I bought to go with this. Tried to set it in BIOS, and nevertheless it wasn't functioning adequately. Replaced with GSkill equivalent and now every little thing is fine, so it could have just been the RAM. Would get again. Attributes for price ratio is fantastic. Installed Win 7 64bit Ultimate with no concern. Running like a champ.Make positive to get the newest chipset and drivers from Gigabyte's web page!!!

Lots of ports, still has the floppy drive hook up. Had concerns installing Windows 7. Item says it supports Windows 7, nonetheless Windows 7 kept freezing at "Expanding Files %." I search a quantity of forums, listed every single productive repair, and tried just about every one particular of them with no achievement. I changed BIOS settings, installed BIOS upgrades, attempted many different driver disks, and so forth. Ultimately soon after two days of functioning on it, I replaced the motherboard (all other components stayed the identical) and Windows installed in 20 minutes. Wonderful all round and great high quality, specifically when on sale! Picked it up for only 84 ahead of Xmas with a rebate.**Its futurerpoof with USB three. and SATA III, this is essential as difficult drives get more rapidly and saturate SATA II1. Many connections, each for PCI and SATA.2. Very good onboard graphics. Handles almost everything I require my HTPC to do.three. Unlocked the extra cores on my AMD x3 445four. Looks quite inside my clear sided NZXT case :) Not large cons at all, just noting these for persons who it may well influence.1. Crossfire ONLY functions with onboard graphics if you purchase a Specific card (one of the 5*** series cards I think). You can nonetheless do cross fire with two other ATI cards dedicated cards, but to do hybrid crossfire with the onboard you have to get the One card that they specify. Appear it up if this is significant to you. This goes for ALL 880 boards I believe.2. This does consume a lot more energy than the mATX version of this board (ㅇ watts with the very same HW). For some individuals this could swing a selection to ditch additional PCI for additional energy efficiency, but nothing at all wrong with this board in certain! Just noting this in common. All round Im really happy with this board. I am working with it for my HTPC/Server and am running Ubuntu linux. The install went perfectly, but I had issues with sleep/suspend/hibernate for Ubuntu. It would just wouldn't go to sleep.Following two weeks of frustration, I figured out it was the USB 3.; other boards with USB 3. have the similar troubles, these just wont go to sleep properly and wake the system back up, even with nothing at all plugged in. This may well be the issue for Win 7 as nicely, but I am unsure about this. In any case, there is a fix! I wrote up a page on TomsHadware to save persons the time of searching on-line for it.To search for it, its referred to as "Getting Sleep, Suspend, or Hibernate to Operate With USB three. Boards!" by Ansemx324. If you have queries on how to repair the problem just comment there and Ill be glad to aid.

This is a stick to up on a review I submitted just right after I installed the board. The points I liked are the straightforward set up, which includes the OS (Win 7ኜ-bit), the high quality of the board overall, the fact that it accepted all of my components without a hiccup (ATI 5770, Gskill 10666CLD-BRL memory ྰ gigs), Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty sound card, and the fact that the CPU base is situated in a position on the board that enables my major, giant Nexus HOC-9000 cooler to clear the power supply (although the memory cards are tough to get at once the cooler is installed, so you greater put the sticks in before you mount the cooler). I also like the USB three. ports because my memory stick is of that nature. The install went effectively and I didn't have any difficulties with something other than 1) trying to set up RAID configuration, and two) dealing with the utilities and drivers on the supplied install disc. As I reported earlier, I exchanged e-mails attempting to get the BIOS to recognize a RAID configuration, but no luck--so, I've just given up on that. Following my encounter with the drivers on the set up disc, I would say DO NOT Install Anything, Specially THE CHIPSET DRIVER. BSOD was all I got by carrying out this. Going to Gigabyte's internet site and downloading then installing the most recent drivers went smoothly. If you are organizing on performing an ATI Hybrid CrossFireX configuration (as advertised in giant, colorful letters on the box), neglect it unless you have or are going to buy the 5450 card. I was advised by tech help that this is the ONLY card that will work in this configuration (Thanks Gigabyte for informing us of this situation Right after we get the board and discover out that our other cards don't function with this program).

ive built three rigs with this mobo and i really like it, no issues.usb3, sata3, AM3, crossfire. and the onboard video isnt negative, if your not working with it for severe gaming, games like black ops are unplayable with on board. handles 1080p motion pictures fine tho. the sata ports are behind the major pci two. slot, and get quite tricky when a significant videocard is installed, (my 5870 is huge tho) even with the flip down mobo tray, of my Raidmax Smilodon. USB 3, SATA three, onboard DVI/HDMI (nice to know it's there if you need it in an emergency, otherwise disable it in Bios). General a good above typical board that won't break the bank but gives a ton of characteristics to last the subsequent couple years of gaming. Appreciated the back plate and two Sata3 cables and that it came with newest Bios version. Effortless install, nice layout and effectively labeled. Mushkin Silverline 4 x 2GB DDR3 1333 does not like this board. 3 sticks ƖGB) at 1333 works great, but as quickly as you pop that last stick in the bsod's commence. If you use this brand of ram on this mobo lower your ram speed to 1066 if you are getting blue screens operating 8gb Ɣx2GB). Seems to be a hit or miss difficulty with Gigabyte boards utilizing non-qualified memory not wanting to help four dimms at 1333. Analysis MEMORY FOR COMPATIBILITY. Gigabyte presents a .PDF on their website (QVL, Qualified Vendors List) of known compatible ram. If you are experiencing blue screens or random lockups it could incredibly effectively be incompatible ram. At the time of this writing Mushkin wasn't on Gigabyte's qualified ram compatibility list, but most of G.Ability, Corsair, and Kingston had been.

This is a fantastic little board, and I've most likely built a dozen systems on them. This time, I needed a new ESXi server, and this board did the job just fine. All you need to have is a compatible NIC since VMWare doesn't help the Realtek, but outdoors of that, the installation went completely. Could have much more SATA ports. It only has five on board and 1 eSATA (does anybody in fact use eSATA?). I fully grasp this is a "value" board, even though.

Paired this with the Amd 1055T, Essential SSD, 8gigs HyperX, and Windows 7 Ult x64. Paired this up with difficult drives for a homerserver/HTPC. The onboard ATI 4250 performs completely operating 1080P through HDMI out. Had no difficulties setting up, setting up this setup. Dropped it into a Rosewill 4u rackmount case to finish it all up. Beware use of 6gb/s SSD's and raid combos. The bios doesn't enable raid and ahci simultaneous. I had to purchase some by means of raid cards to get the total speed out of my Crucial C300. Only scored 250 mb/s in raid mode vs. 368 mb/s in ahci. I know some Intel chipsets enable ahci in raid mode but this AMD apparently does not. Purchased some low-cost through raid cards to solve my difficulty and so it wasn't a large concern. Like this setup so far. No difficulties setting up a 6core on stock bios. Updated to most up-to-date after setting up Windows. I'm operating 4 raid1 pairs of Hitachi 2tb drives for storage.

USB three., SATA III, Crossfire ready, tons of USB and SATA ports. I Really like being in a position to charge cell phones, iPods and other USB devices making use of the On/Off Charge function of this board - pull your situation USB headers into the white and red USB header on the mobo. It's a fantastic and practical feature. Each the North and South Bridge heatsinks were loose. I removed these to come across that each and every had a thermal pad on the underside of the heatsink. I removed the thermal pad and utilised Arctic Silver Ceramique Thermal Compound, I'm willing to bet that the AS Ceramique will keep the North/South bridges 10C cooler then the thermal pads. I received my rebate. Paid the ũ for faster processing, but it nevertheless took the rebate business over 4 weeks to mail my rebate back to me.Good board for the ๜ I paid for it after rebate and discounts. Extremely statisfied other than the long rebate wait and the thermal pads on the North and South bridges (thermal pads weren't enought to subtract a single egg).

From what I have skilled in my short time utilizing this motherboard, I'd give the features 5 starts, the layout 4 stars and the good quality of workmanship six stars. Tech help. I've been developing computer systems due to the fact ྛ utilizing all sorts of motherboard sizes and brands and have had several occassions to speak to tech support for GENUINE support in solving a problem. This is my initial Gigabyte MB and my initially time in dealing with their "tech assistance" and have identified it incredibly sub-normal. Specifically, I'm attempting to set up a basic RAID O configuration, and so far have been miserably unsuccessful in executing this. The manual is no assistance mainly because it gives numerous scenarios to set RAID, none of them function as I've found for the duration of spending maybe 40 hours trying to invoke distinct ways of doing this. Whenever I have utilized RAID on motherboards in the previous, it was generally a straight forward routine that took seconds--as an alternative of the hours I'm spending now. Underneath "Other thoughts" I'll give you an example of a Gigabyte tech support "suggestion" to recognize RAID with their motherboard . . . . . . Here's the last reply I got from Gigabyte on this subject (after exchanging six e-mail with them, all of them worthless) (if you've read the manual about performing this operation, you'll see there's no partnership to these directions--hook up DVDe to SATA 7 connection very first? Actually?: Raid setting requirements driver help, right here we attached driver, please extract it to a folder on USB flash drive. Make positive SATA tough drives connect to SATA port -1, SATA DVD drive connect to SATA port 7, reset bios to load fail-risk-free defaults and load optimized defaults, alter onchip SATA form to Raid mode below integrated peripherals in bios, alter initial boot device from floppy to CDrom, insert Win7 installation disk, conserve setup exit. Program will restart, on second screen will see option press ctr + F ( not ctrl +G ) go into AMD Raid bios created Raid array, method will continue boots, when message show boot from CD/DVD press any key, at this point press enter important, Win7 setup screen will show. Good board. Works wonderful with Phenom II 1075T None so far This board was not working properly initially. I did a fresh Windows 7 set up and the install went fine. When I began making use of the Pc, it kept crashing and later it wouldn't load OS also. I thought the MB was poor. Later, I tested the RAM with memtest and identified 3 out of four RAM sticks (Avexir 2GB sticks) were bad. I then ordered Kingston Blue sticks and it performs incredibly excellent now.

Excellent board with a lot of alternatives. Sharp searching board with the usual amenities for this price tag range. Paired it with an AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black edition CPU. I was able to unlock the two disabled cores and have a sweet Quad core running at a very stable 3.75 OC. Installed a Radeon HD 5670 video card in hopes of running it in Crossfire with the onboard video but was unsuccessful. My understanding is that is only feasible with earlier generation cards. None I had to order a four pin to eight pin Power Adapter for the LP4 connection as my Power provide was of the 4 pin selection. This board needs an eight pin.

When it was up, it had wonderful characteristics and ran excellent. Was really hunting forward to a new MB and CPU (old was K7 and Sempron 2800+). Was operating a memory test and all of sudden the video went checkerboard with several distinct colors. When I rebooted, there was no beeps, no BIOS Splash screen, nada. Attempted a unique monitor with similar result. Tried only 1 memory stick at time with identical result. Checked energy supply with tester and it checked fantastic. RMA'd the board back to Newegg and will see how rapid they respond. Also (probably incorrectly) RMA'd the CPU Phenom II X6 1075 three.0G due to the fact I didn't have a way to test it.
