Does just about every little thing. I genuinely had to reach hard to locate anything incorrect with this MB. I adore just about every thing on it, BUT I have had other boards that do a bit more for much less. A lot of software program to assist tweak your MB. Initially the computer software is slow, it takes forever to load your settings at start-up. Ive never had a laptop or computer as rapid as the one I have now, but with this MB it now takes me twice as lengthy to load windows than it did with my old Pc. No fan controller on the MB. I think just about every very good MB really should have a fan controller. I also dont trust the temperatures that the MB gives me. They seem to low, I would be careful OC your CPU w/ this board. I can run my 1090t at 4./ 1.52v and nevertheless remain under 50C under 100% load. I am operating water cooling but its nonetheless to low. I like the amount of software program it comes with but some of the software dosent function. Ive had older boards w/ far more possibilities and appear more reliable. IDK, acquire it but know thats theres far better corporations out there.

Very first Gigabyte board. I like the stability, fit and finish, & bios. The onboard energy and reset buttons are a nice touch, even if not necessary. It's a very good board so far, haven't had any issues with lock ups or anything. I really like that the sata slots are flush with the board, created my wire management much easier. Does NOT perform with RevoDriveX2 in spite of what OCZ may possibly try and tell you. It cuts the energy to the PCI-X slots before the OS can shut down completely resulting in rampant data corruption. This is not the fault of the motherboard and may well even be fixed with newer bios (I'm flashed to the F5 bios) Trust me on this--do not use it with a RevoDrive. Also, I'd have liked to have more than the four sata cables that came with it. All of these are quite minor complaints and if I had it to do over again, I would still chose this motherboard. heatsinks appear, key word seem, to be solid and make full get in touch with--they appear to be far more than a fashion statement. manual is straightforward to follow and nicely layed out. headers are nicely color coded and uncomplicated to navigate. front audio port header is situated on the back of the board... counter-intutive. featureful board, excellent cost. just got this to replace an msi board whose retention bracket broke... msi delivers much more crossfire possibilities... if i wanted 4 cards... but with the current offerings, i just don't see myself getting to got there. therefore, i went for this board. nicer bios, friendlier navigation for assembly, and pretty much the same offerings. pleased with this option.

Simple to connect every little thing and runs great appropriate out of the box with 1090T Thuban. 6870 XFX Black Edition card fit just fine. Has two USB3 ports that function like a charm. I didn't read the particulars and had to go get a USB mouse since it only has 1 PSǘ port. You can connect a keyboard or mouse, but the other has to be USB. I can't ding the board for my not reading the specs, but I like getting two PSǘ connectors. I appreciated that the bios produced the 1090T feel at home right away with no bios update. Bios recognized and set the timings correctly for the Mushkin memory. I couldn't be happier with the board and it's ease of use.

Tons of capabilities, Overclocking depth & customizable alternatives galore, straightforward pin connection access, everything is labeled & written in an simple to read text. This board also may well have had its pathways mapped out far better than most as it does have a dual LAN interface... especially when it comes to the memory interface. There are 23 various parameters for overclocking/underclocking the mem, not such as the availability to change voltages & the ns response time on every individual slot. The manual also identifies all the individual pin designations for connections, including the SATA connections & in applicable instances also the voltages. Good for Troubleshooting, most people many not appreciate this.Undoubtedly ties in all of your components for much better performance than prior MB styles though keeping a fairly regular profile. If you are interested in squeezing every bit out of your components this is worth looking more than for positive. Unlocked an Athlon II x3 to a Phenom x4 no The EasyTune 6 software program "does not" run on win 7 only Vista & XP. Why it says Win 7 Support on the CD you got me, it won't run. I contacted Gigabyte about an update for this & have not heard anything from them but. You can still update the Bios in Windows via the @Bios program but Overclocking & Bios changes beyond an update still call for the eye straining blue screen if you're running Win7. Go figure...The manual does not give much more information as fare as the bios goes, more like a list of what you see in the blue screen descriptions. I suppose it would be an ok reference if you are in a position to use the ET6 software program. All this capacity to delegate high speed targeted traffic comes with a cost....heat. Runs hotter than expected. My NB is 51°c @idle, SB is 54°c with so small clearance among it & an oversized Graphics Card & this is without overclocking. you could want to appear at a new case or other fans if you are already having concerns about cooling your existing components. This MB raised my CPU temps five-13°c depending on load. Gigabyte made a massive brother to this board..the UD7 that demands a case with a min. of 8 expansion slots, 9+ to make use of totally & they put in a watercooled NB & SB heat sink in addition to the standard. They are near identical boards but I suppose it keeps the price down to leave that out of the UD5 package. All in all this board nonetheless rocks ř eggells" If you want a server level board at desktop cost this is a fantastic board to think about.System installed in is::Antec 750w TruePower SLI/Crossfire Ready PSUGigabyte 890FXA-UD5 MB AMD Athlon II X3 unlocked to a Phenom II X4---WEI-------------7.three2x2gb OCZ 1600mhz ram running at 1333 7-7-7-23---WEI----7.4ATI Radeon HD 5830 1gb 256bit (not overclocked)--WEI--------7.5Segate Barracuda 7200RPM SATA three.0ghz---WEI-------------------five.9

A lot of on-board connectors.Comes with quite a few cables.Heat sink caps on all capacitors.Correct angle SATA ports function good with most cable routing systems. Bios incorrectly reports manually set Cas latency Bios incorrectly reported manually set Cas latency. The CL required to be manually set because the bios did not auto adjust for the elevated voltage (which brings the RAM up to spec) as other boards do. This is a minor concern since there are other implies to verify CL.

Enjoy this board! A lot of room to run crossfire two or much more video cards. Plus an Audio Card. Lost of usb 2. and 3. connections and every little thing you would want on a high-finish board. none I would recommend this board if you' re going to build a machine running crossfire. I have been an Asus die hard for years but I have to say Gigabyte is deferentially a force to be reckoned with.

This factor is a super amazing board. Correct now I don't know if there's truly a point to get it now though cause of the 1155 boards out now - way a lot more bang for your buck with an i5 2500k and aftermarket heatsink. None - it does what it was built for and it does it properly. In response to the people today who say that the pci express 16x are too close to every other. Go ahead and repost with a tech level of at least average and then apologize for ignorance. Clearly you can see the space on the board when you purchase it. If you require a lot more then you buy the msi 890fx. You don't buy this, then complain about it. If you're having a challenge with cooling but you want to do 16xቬx, take the shrouds off the cards, disable the built in fans (unplug them), mount two 120mm pwm fans across the leading of the two cards, get a pwm y adapter, plug it into the four pin fan slot and take pleasure in quiet, cool awesomeness. Unless you have vapor-x cards I think that's the ideal way to go here. Otherwise you'll really be able to hear noise coming from the cards, which is unnecessary. Yah, I said it gamers. You shouldn't have to hear noise coming from your laptop or computer although gaming. Although, vapor-x cards, gelid fans, and fan controllers like the scythe kaze can be pricey.

Well built. 6 SATA 6 Connections and two SATA 2 conncetions are a plus. Getting the ability to use an IDE HD and DVD is quite beneficial. Quite stable MB and have not had any issues with setup. Packaging was opened so I was suspect. Installed utilizing the delivered drivers, then updated from Gigabytes web-site. BIOS upgrade is painless. BIOS choices are overwhelming and as usual the manual doesn't support much in figuring out how to tweak the board. Drivers from web site are reasonably existing (within 3 months old).

Great board. Has connections for 8 internal SATA devices, 6 of which are SATA6; wonderful good quality; sturdy and really quickly! Even a great built-in sound audio w/surround sound. Supports big RAID partitions (mine is four TB). None. I had some troubles (unrelated to the hardware) in setting up a big four TB RAID partition. The NewEgg-Gigabyte tech support men and women went above and beyond to solve my difficulty. You can get Gigabyte goods with confidence, realizing that Tech Support is there when you need to have them! Thanks Gigabyte!

Nice color, this was a replacement to my ASrock 890fx Deluxe three board that had important sata troubles. Nice and heafty. 1 of the two LAN ports jump died on me, no notion why, but the other 1 is operating fine, but I'm still going to check into RMA'ing the board. And there is ZERO room to appropriately apply Arctic Silver, per their internet site. You can not turn it in either direction to help disperse the paste, so you must tint the chip. Not a biggy, but an inconvenience. The small header "helper" for all the case plugs is non-existant, and at this price it must be.

Then the system runs like molasses till it is turned off. The RAM came up running quite slow timing values. I manually set them in the BIOS to SPD values and it is operating full speed now. The ESATA connectors on the IO panel are connected to the Jmicron controller. The Jmicron makes it possible for hot swapping with out extra software program. The white SATA connectors on the front of the MB are connected to the Gigabyte controller and also hot swap. Lots of ports ,simple to set up overclocks very easily in bios. Truly Stable !! alot of SATA ports good configuration of identical. Board is laid out truly properly Exactly where really should I commence no rear header bracket for usb,No floppy cable ,are the SATA Cables SATA 6Gb/s or SATA two. Some of the mobo function are not explained real well on how to use them. They included lan teaming on this board which is totally asinine for the general user or even some enthusiast users, I checked into the hardware immediately after I researched the terminology and found out you can use this feature if you have numerous thousand dollars to invest in a ethernet switch or router to support it!! LOL I know I have gigged this invest in a little I like this board I definitely do but again there are some things that could have been far better which includes why didn't they contain a LED post display like on the UD7

This was my initially construct in a extremely lengthy time. All went together extremely nicely. Board has so a lot of BIOS choices, it's nuts. Matched with AMD 1090T and Corsair XMS3 1333 8GB. Still want to get SATA 6. installed with RAID to max performance. Haven't messed with overclocking yet. Waiting to get new CPU fan and Heatsink. Rebate going on until March 31st makes this a great board for the cost. No SLI support. (May switch to an ATI card although). Not a fan of ATI drivers. I utilised this motherboard with an AMD 1100T. Runs fantastic, lots of SATA3 connections. USB powererd even when system off is nice as I charge my Droid on it. I also have a PS3 controller charging dock plugged into it and there is plenty of power to go around. I utilised a Cooler Master Hyper N520 and there is plenty of clearance for RAM with significant heat spreaders such as the G.Skill Ripjaw series. No complaints.

Overall it is a great motherboard by Gigabyte which I will always purchase from. Strayed once and it only resulted in problems. My only dissapointment was that there were 4 sata cables and an ide cable as accessories. user guides and install guides as well.I love the look of the board and like the blue led light built into the clr cmos , power, and reset switches located internally on the board and a proper spot.Glad to know that I got a Revision 3.1 of this board so that it will easily support next gen amd 3+ cpus if I ever have to upgrade.
