GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: A bit pricey.

Pros: Has all the latest (SATA 6Gb/s, USB3), and all the oldest (Floppy, LPT, IDE). Solid board.
Comment:
Had this board for a few days, has a ton of features. This is my second Gigabyte board (other is a 790X). Both have stable voltages and over clock well. Nothing but good to say about Gigabyte.

GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: Nothing yet

Pros: Lots of features
Comment:
Knock on wood, but I haven't had any issues with this board at all. As others have mentioned, this is rev 2.0 instead of the latest 2.1 but it doesn't make a huge difference to me. I haven't tried to OC my 1090t yet, so I can't really comment on that.I did install the Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus heatsink without any issues, and there lots of space for it!

Comment:
Put a phenom II 1090T and easily overclocked it to 4.1GHz. built in pwer switch is very handy because you can test it before inserting all those wire from the case. highly recommended!

GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: Bad compatibility with RAM that is supposed to be compatible

Pros: SATA3 and USB3Ability to charge USB devices when the computer is off
Comment:
Installed a Phenom II X6 1090T on this board with a Coolit Eco water cooler and it worked without any issues. I installed 2 sets of G.SKILL F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO and had nothing but issues.

GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: I don't really like the choice of colours... :)

Pros: USB3, SATA3, 3x Power
Comment:
Very solid motherboard. Everything is where it should be. Having USB3.0 and Sata3 isn't exactly anything special but it shows you that this is NOT a skimpy board. Having that 3x power is great for charging things fast (while the PC is on OR off).

GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: None so far

Pros: Lots of featuresGood OC possibilities (BIOS)Nice MOSFET and chipset coolersPCI connection
Comment:
This board offers a lot for the price. There are many useful features, such as On/Off charge. The buttons for Reset and Clear CMOS are well located. There are also a lot of different connections on the I/O Shield, useful for different kind of external hard drives, etc. The only downside is that the BIOS revision on the board does not support the control over the Cool and Quiet feature, which can't be disabled even if the BIOS says so. If you have a Black Edition processor and you want to OC it by increasing the multiplier, there will always be a core stuck at the lowest speed (managed by Cool and Quiet).

GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: RAM too close to socket, sideways SATA, RAM requires a lot of force, outdated version

Pros: Great value, great BIOS, easy overclock
Comment:
Although the version sent to me was not the latest---hardware rev 2.0 with F2 BIOS, despite hardware rev 2.1 and the F4 BIOS having already been released---it worked easily with flawless configuration, and I would definitely buy this exact board again for any other build. Used a Noctua NH-U12P SE2 heatsink, and while it works extremely well, it covers the first two RAM DIMM slots on the board. Also, it takes a fair amount of force to get the RAM in. Stopped me from POSTing for two days before I realized the error. The BIOS is a snap to use. Overclocked a AMD Phenom XII Black Edition to 3.6GHz on all six cores extremely easy. The only BIOS parameters I needed to configure were CPU multiplier, memory speed/voltage and disabling unused features (floppy/serial/parallel), and they were a snap to use.

GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: It isn't $1 cheaper.

Pros: Powerful. Has everything you need.
Comment:
This is a great motherboard no matter how you say it. If I owned a computer shop, and someone asked me for a great motherboard, this is the first one I would show him(assuming he was going AMD). It has very good capabilities.

GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons: None, except the fact that only 2 fans can be controlled by the bios and that only the settings of the CPU fan are adjustable.

Pros: - AMD 890FX chipset- 2 OZ copper PCB- Auto Unlock to enable hidden core.- Smart Dual Lan.- Dual Bios- Tons of overclocking options- 6 x SATA3 ports, 2x SATA2s, and 2 eSATA backpanel ports.- 2x USB 3.0 and 6 rear and 6 onboard USB 2.0 with 3x USB power- 3 way CrossfireX ready- Dolby Home Theater- On/Off charge USB port for your cell phone
Comment:
I've been waiting for the launch of the AMD 890FX chipset since the end of 2009 and when I first saw the models that would be availlable, I was looking at the big brother, the GA-890FXA-UD7. When I realised that this XL-ATX board will not fit in my case (Cosmos S), I started looking at this one. This board has almost everything her big brother has except the extra cooling solution and the fact that the UD7 is 4X CrosffireX ready instead of 3x. I would be suprised if one day I do run a 3x CrosffireX config, so it's pretty obvious that I will never go on a 4x CrossfireX config. The stock cooling is really good the way he is, all temps are pretty low, even under load. This board has everything you need, and has been really well designed. You still have 1 IDE port to plug your old hard drive, and the good old floppy port is still there if you want to plug in one of those old but still sometimes handy floppy drive. Also, they kept 1 PCI expansion slot wich I love because event if there is more and more PCIe expantion cards, the PCI is still not totally out of date. This board is a real candy for overclocking lovers. Tons of bios setting available, Onboard clear CMOS button, onboard reset and power button, dual bios for added safety. Overclocking software are also provided if you like to tweak under Windows. The installation of the board itself was a breeze following the users guide, and Windows 7 x64 intalled without a single issue. This is my new baby, and I think that this love story wont fade before a long time ;-)Way to go Gigabyte, this board is awesome.
