Sturdy. Layout is properly thought. Enough expansion selections. Good capabilities (USB3., Firewire, etc.). Low-cost. Computer software is flawless, OC possibilities are sweet and straightforward. Outstanding selection for price range/midrange systems. Don't know no matter if this was since of the case chosen, though: Not enough to penalize, but nonetheless a nuisance, is that the two leading USB ports (two of 4 readily available) ended up quite close to the top rated of the connections cutout on the situation. You can nonetheless connect regular usb cables, but bulkier connectors might be a challenge. I read all the reviews on this a single (good and undesirable) and nevertheless decided to give it a attempt; outcome: FLAWLESS. I paired this MB with a COOLER MASTER GX Series RS650-ACAAE3-US 650W energy provide (another exceptional item, btw), set up and connected all the other components, and it started correctly the extremely initially time. NO CYCLING Troubles. BIOS choices are great and it actually 'suggested' to switch the SATA controller to AHCI correct away for the storage devices on initially boot. Other components:i3-560ǞGB DDR3-1333/WD GREEN 750GB 7200rpm/PowerColor ATi HD5770/Win7HP x64.Software program possibilities are wonderful. OC solution is a breeze. Extremely proposed for cost-effective speedy setup systems.Operating Starcraft II, Crysis and additional on HP settings.

Great feature set for a sensible value with granular overclocking capability. Good for a Budget mid-range setup. I purchased three of these for new builds at the organization I function for and had planned to use them for all future upgrades. One of them had repeated BSOD's, when I switched the motherboard with a single of the others anything worked fine. I RMA'd it to newegg and received a replacement. The new one randomly resets itself. I have tested and switched the memory, hard drive and PSU and am now out of Newegg's return window. Of the two P55-USB3's that I purchased 1 had related BSOD difficulties and had to be RMA'd but is working fine now. This failure rate is unacceptable and I plan to switch all organization purchases to ASUS for the future. I do use the EasyTune6 to manage the fan speeds and monitor temps on setting this up but do not want them available to users… only the higher temp beep is explained to caution users.I also set the internal graphics clock in "advanced frequency settings" in Gigabyte MIT Bios Screen to 788 (from stock 733) and upped the BLCK slightly to 164 (from the 160 XMP setting provided) to get three.60 Ghz on the stock Intel cooler supplied with the I3 proc. No cons! Why spend more than the 贄 for a next gen Clarksdale (I3 530) when even a 񘈨 higher finish proc clocks less than this setup. Why not use the memory voltage head room supplied by low voltage 1.three volt memory that can be raised stable by manufacturer determined XMP settings currently on chip? While I have not tested above the DDR3 1640 in this setup, this can be clocked higher by raising the blk setting beyond 164 and loosening the memory timings to CAS 8 or CAS 9 (still greater than the competing 1.65 V memory of other mfgs. By using larger blk settings (above 160) and loosening the memory timings, larger overclocks are incredibly feasible with this setup ྶ is the max multiplier for the I3 on this board, so the greater blk setting needs the memory to be able to get as higher as DDR3 2200, the limit of the Motherboard). All are limited by the CPU cooler and situation temp situations and an aftermarket cooler and a lot more case fans are then proposed to address the thermal limitations. My setup makes use of the stock Intel proc fan/sink and only a single 120mm case fan in a mid ATX tower configuration. Straightforward is greatest!

The setup on this motherboard is good. USB 3... maxes at 16gb of memory.. place of sata slots for me finally isn't blocked by my video card.. and substantially for pros about this mobo! In conclusion, GET IT! I would definitely do organization with gigabyte yet again! Video doesn't work if you are going to run an i-5 quad.. So you are obligated to get a GPU if you want to run these two collectively.

Onboard video with i3 & i5 only. Won't power up with 750 watt power supply and GTX285. Got this board with an i7 chip and G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB ƒ x 4GB). Connected every thing up like the 8 pin connector to the board with my Thermaltake 750 and it looped 1 sec on, 1 sec off repeatedly; replaced the board with a ASUS P7P55 LX and all my troubles instantaneously went away. Save yourself the headache if you have a video card that calls for two six slot power connectors. Manufacturer Response:Dear Customer,Thank you for your comments. This board installed and configured effortlessly. With just a handful of uncomplicated adjustments to the bios I was in a position to overclock an i3 processor to three.54Ghz with no any BSOD issues. I appreciate all of the usb ports on this, as I have a usb wireless keyboard/mouse, an all-in-one particular card reader, a couple of printers, external hard disk and a microcontroller programmer. Having a lot of SATA connectors on the board is also fantastic, since I have 3 hard drives and a DVD R/W connected that way. Fedora 13 is not that content with devices plugged into the USB three ports. They work, but generate extra error messages in Linux. Setting up the SATA for AHCI is a tiny confusing. Every single time you alter it you have to reset the challenging drive boot priority. This was a good value for me. I mostly use the machine for programming workouts and as a HTPC. It has both a PCI Television card and a Hauppage Television PCI/express card so it can record 3 applications at after, which it does without any problems. I'm running dual monitors working with both the HDMI and DivX connectors. The Intel i3 CPU is performing the operate for the graphics and does fairly nicely. It isn't rapidly adequate for gaming, but it plays back Television programs without any dilemma. 4Gb of memory is additional than adequate for me.

Newegg shipped the product on time. *PCI express slot sits more than CMOS battery so anytime you're trying to reset Bios you need to take away your GPU to do so*SATA controller was Incredibly unreliable*Installing RAID drives is annoying as only two SATA ports support it and you have to load windows repair to load RAID drivers ahead of installing Windows*Constant memory management blue screens and random crashes (My memory is 100% stable immediately after by testing and two sets of sticks)Right after two months the motherboard is finally dead. On-board LAN is no longer functional, Unable to read SATA devices. This factor is now a paperweight and i'm stuck with it as it died just a couple months previous the return policyI kept the machine 100% clean with no overclocking and it didn't last 3 months. Worked initial time (at least soon after I adequately seated the front panel power connector!). This was a "motherboard-ectomy" for an older P4 technique. I upgraded with an i730-540 and 4GB of Kingston memory and chose this board for becoming capable to do HDMI 1080p straight from the i730 as I'm making use of it hooked to my property theater gear. I didn't need to have to do any particular settings for memory, only changed the SATA drives to AHCI - you're prompted for this at 1st boot. Floppy disk connector (if you really require it) is in an awkward location at the bottom of the MB - about as far from the standard FD mounting place as achievable. If you want to use it, get a long, round cable! This mobo has an additional 2x4 power connector for the CPU. Although the directions only specify utilizing this if you're making use of a high-finish CPU, I'm making use of the OCZ Engineering OCZ500MXSP modular 500-watt PS which has the right connector (look for EPS12V) so I plugged that in as effectively.A extended, round cable for the CD drives would also be a excellent bet as it want to run amongst the principal power cable and (in my situation) an Antec case fan in front of the HD bays.

I purchased this board for the reasons you are likely seeking at it now. If it worked, as it appears to do often, then it is likely a very good board to use. I had the power cycling difficulty. I attempted just about every resolution I could. Even so, the genuine issue was the help. I sent in a basic query about the board, and I waited two or 3 days for a response. The response was a canned response, and did not answer my question. I send in a respond to this which was not answered.Since it was not operating with any parts and the answer I got did not result in improvement (in reality, some of the ideas ignored my circumstance absolutely), I returned it (thanks Newegg) and bought an additional board from a different corporation. This board worked fine with the parts I chose correct out of the box. If you do get this board, please make confident you have the ATX12V 2x4 power connector on your PSU, and make confident your RAM runs at the right voltage. If you do not know this voltage (I forgot it, otherwise, I would state it), then do not get this board unless you want to deal with it becoming picky, with documentation not becoming clear about its wants, and poor assistance. MAKE Sure you put the board on risers, not onto the case itself. Splash screen is a bit ugly, but you can turn that off. Place the board on risers when installing! Gigabyte boards are great when they operate. This is initial time ever I've got dead Gigabyte board. - easy CPU installation, the bracket works nicely and doesn't run into other components.- instruction manual provides an superb guide to installing all of the front panel parts. ( got it right on my first try)- Worked perfectly proper from the begin, I had a little problem with the CPU fan not running at first ( turns out the CPU fan cable was in the way).- Lot of tools readily available to OC my brand new CPU - Only one PCi-e slot, but I knew that when I purchased it- Only came with two sata cables... had to obtain further cables for my other peripherals- no real use for USB three. however but hopefully I will use it. I haven't had any sound difficulties as other individuals have been stating. This is my first Computer construct from scratch and this board produced it effortless.

This board installed quickly. The manual was pretty very good; I was able to use it efficiently to comprehend exactly where every little thing plugged in. It came with no hardware. The box was not sealed, so I suspect the hardware was robbed for another box. Thankfully, I had further. Also, the manual is genuinely not for newbies at all. It doesn't have any step-by-step instructions; just tells you exactly where issues are. So far it's a good motherboard. The bios is pretty uncomplicated to follow, but has lots of selections. The utilities are fairly fantastic, but the GOM thing is negative for Windows 7. It wants to check for updates at start off up and UAC comes up each and every time you reboot. It's fairly annoying so I uninstalled it.

Board is nicely marked and effortless to install. As this was the 1st time I buil my own laptop or computer, I took my time and all went nicely. The engineering was excellent and all parts fit with each other exactly as created. None truly. On some other Gigabyte items there had been reviews that mentioned that the pc would start off up and then shut down in an endless cycle. Just before you assume the board is negative, check your connections--particularly the 2x4 12V connector close to the processor assembly. In some instances the board not only wants the primary power supply but also the 2x4 12 volt connector to power up successfully. My pc began then shut down and continued in this fashion till I hooked up the power connector to this slot. After that? Well I am typing this overview on an Ubuntu 10.04 technique.Good product! Looking to upgrade for speed & pciE slots, USB three., multi threading. I get nervous just about every time it restarts, thinking it will be the last. Has as well numerous restarts, or completely shuts down. When it restarts, all fans stops, seems dead, soon after a few seconds, it restarts. When it doesn't restart, have to short pins to clear Cmos, for restart. I have in no way owned a board that absolutely dies on restart. On optimal performance setting in bios, when booting into XP32, seems @ the graphics driver load, it shuts down and will not restart, till Cmos is cleared. Have to default back to fail-safe. After I effectively get in windows, it will from time to time restart unexpectedly, how to depend on a MB that does this. Also, does not see USB keyboard on startup, have to use PS2 keyboard for delete crucial to get into bios, as other people have knowledgeable, then USB keyboard functions. Late model board that does not see USB ??. I will pray when I do the bios upgrade. Not impressed with Gigabyte on this 1. This board has F6 version bios, most recent is F7. Big worry of random restart on bios upgrade. Using Kingston KHX1600C9D3K2ǚG HyperX 4 GB Kit 1600 MHz DDR3 Memory. 2 kits = 8 gigs. I7-870 CPU. 550 watt PS 8 pin to MB. HD5570 pciE video card. Why no USB keyboard to get into bios, why is this MB so sensitive to restarts, as other individuals have complained about random restarts, what is triggering it. I have reseated memory, wiggled & giggled all connectors. Yes, I have 8 pin power to CPU MB. A few a lot more random restarts, RMA. Of all the boards I have purchased, different brands, this MB has given me the "I don't want another one". PS often bios will see the sata drive, occasionally it wont, additional fuel for the couple of eggs, yes, wiggled these cables too. The board is what I was searching for, wished it was working as intended.

Quite a few alternatives in the menu. Wide variety of characteristics offering a wide configuration style. RAID is only supported on SATA2 five & 6. SATA2 -four do not assistance RAID. Some BIOS features suggest capability, but function no enabled. Installing W7 Pro on RAID volume was slow, hung numerous occasions, and never loaded on final install. Tends to make the 'RAID' feature of this board questionable. CTRL+G not obtainable unless SATA2 5ǜ have HDD connected. Can not use two digital video outputs at the very same time. Only supports one particular analog and 1 digital. I had no complications installing W7 Pro onto a SATA2 HDD by way of an LG Supermulti optical drive. Devoid of updates, I installed the optical drive computer software and played the Blu-ray version of Dirty Harry. On the other hand, this could not be tested below RAID setup. This board needs the two 2x2 power rails in addition to the 2x12 for Core i3 to power up. Manual suggests only necessary if employing Extreme Ed. processors, which I wasn't. Haven't tested the USB3. yet.
