I bought this for a HTPC build with an i3 530. Fit perfectly in my Silverstone case. Lots of connections, properly marked and very good SW alternatives to enhance the speed. None yet. I also had a cycling concern upon my initial boot - it started and turned off each three-5 seconds. It turned out I had installed the cable for the power and reset buttons incorrectly. As soon as I corrected the technique began proper up. Not positive is this will assist any individual else, but in this case it was me not the board.

None This is a terrible motherboard. Random reboots, terrible drivers, the onboard sound keeps popping in and out of device manager.Do not get this piece of cr@p. I hate that I made this choice. Worst thing I've ever freaking purchased from Newegg. And yes, I do know what I'm talking about. I've been building custom Computer's since my initial 8086 in 1994. I got duped out of 贄. In no way buying Gigabyte Anything once again. Please heed my advice. Buy anything other than this motherboard. Manufacturer Response:Thank you for your comments. - Great BIOS capabilities and possibilities. Can configure pretty much every thing with good detail.- Overall great attributes with gigabit NIC, USB3, RAID, eSATA, and so forth.- Board appears properly-place together, with every thing in the correct spot. Spacing is effectively accomplished; even working with a significant video card (EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX+) anything fit Ok. For getting 7 SATA ports, only possessing RAID Ǘ/JBOD as the only selections appears odd. Would have like RAID five. Not taking anything off for that although; I knew what I was receiving. I've only ever gotten ASUS or MSI boards in the past; this is my very first Gigabyte board, and I have to say I'm quite impressed. Can't say sufficient about the detailed BIOS alternatives. Will be recommending this very same board to a friend who plans to build a new program soon.

Looks very good good quality. Solid capacitor, USB 3.. Get messy screen and sudden power lost, then reboot. It happened randomly. At 1st, I believed it may well be software incompatibility. Then I tried everything: reinstall the technique (win7 64bit, winxp 32bit), update to the newest drivers, and so forth. My PSU had a p8 conneter and it was plugged on.Really disappointed! I regarded Gigabyte as the No.1 MB manufacturer in the globe.... I have read some posts above, they had comparable problem. Don't know how they solved it lastly.

I advised this board to a friend based on my knowledge with other Gigabyte boards. I'm pleased to say the board operates rather properly. It's fantastic to have SATA 6 Gb/s, USB 3., eSATA, and a 1394 port. Can't comment about the onboard video (we stuck an i5-760 in the machine), but the board does have any graphics port you could desire. For the price tag my friend paid, I'm convinced that this board was a fantastic worth. Very same as any for a LGA1156 board: only 16 lanes of PCIe 2. connectivity. Not actually a issue with this board: there's only one x16 slot anyways. It can also be tricky to plug in the power / reset / LED jumpers when already mounted in a case. Um... it doesn't make me breakfast? I'm getting a challenging time acquiring things I dislike about this board. A good board for a single graphics card setup, or (presumably) an onboard video setup. However, I can't comment on how it functions for overclocking (it's not my machine, so I'm not going to attempt anything). If I was in the market place for a new board, I'd most likely get 1 of these for myself.

Purchased for moderate small business use. 25 years in tech, I have create 1000's of machines. I moved to the Gigabyte brand about 8 years ago and have been very happy. I at the moment manage about 20 computers on a daily basis and have about 15 unique Gigabyte MBOs. This MBO has a good combination of graphics/sata/usb ports. I am not a gamer and don't overclock; I just want inexpensive, quiet, cool operating, workhorse gear.I move up the tech chain extremely slowly and am just starting to move up from the 775 platform. This motherboard went together incredibly simply. I put it in a new Silo 500 (a quiet case). CORE I3 530 two.93G 4M R, MEM 1Gx2|KST KHX1333C7D3K2ǘG RT, HD 640G|WD 32M SATA2 WD6400AADS, DVD DRIVE MSI | DH-18D5S R (no burning allowed on these stations). Win XP Pro.Anything worked as advertised, no DOAs.I do not think about this a high finish robust MBO. It is very sufficient for each day organization functions. I Post tested the board with chip & ram before installing. Installed the CD/DVD, HD, MB. Set up the BIOS for normal use. Copied the AHCI/Raid F6 drivers to a floppy from the OEM DVD. Employing a USB Floppy I hooked up to the new machine and booted into the OS loading CD. Pushed F6 but WinXP could not come across Drive A. I have utilized this program several times in the past but it would not operate with the MB. Spent a number of hours altering BIOS and USB ports but could not get a Floppy Drive A to show up. Finally gave in and got out my stand by old school floppy and hooked into the MB Floppy terminal. WINXP read the drive and loaded the F6 drivers but as soon as XP began up, BSOD. Did not even get to the Partition screen. 2am in the morning, a number of hours of BIOS and HD adjustments and I began to think RMA on the MB or the HD. Place the new HD in my machine and formatted just fine. Turned off the AHCI/Raid settings in the BIOS, went with straight IDE and the course of action worked great. Many hours of net study and I identified that the MB has two distinct HD controllers. Intel PCH and Gigabyte. The blue SATA connectors are all INTEL Ɩ of them). The Intel F6 drivers on the DVD & Site do not perform. Because I only want 1 HD & DVD reader, I set the PCH controller to IDE & the SATA Raid controller to ACHI. Utilizing the DVD F6 drivers anything performs wonderful.

Excellent board, no issues like other people are getting with it power cycling at boot time. Plays 1080p content with out breaking a sweat (onboard paired with an i3 550). Windows 7 ranks the onboard graphics as a four.8 and 5.3 with drivers dated Aug 25, 10. Absolutely nothing worth noting. With the current video drivers (Aug 25, ten) the display does not go to sleep when connected by way of HDMI but is fine when connected through DVI.With this board and other Gigabyte boards it's surely worth updating the video drivers using Intel's utility on their web web-site. With this board's mini-itx sibling, I noticed some difficulties with Blu-Ray playback employing the onboard video till I updated the Intel HD drivers.

Really nicely created board w/tons of features for it's value none Wow, I've noticed so several critiques of these H55/H57 boards with folks slamming them for the 'on-board video' not operating......The on-board video is on-board the CPU people! This has nothing to do with the MoBo or it's manufacturers. If your CPU does not have on-board video, then you are not going to get on-board video. Period. Do not slam the motherboard vendors for intel's new style choices.

Memory card slots are in regular position and processor does NOT interfere. There is no Gigabyte mobo designers fault. In contrary this is Intel's fan style that need to be in question. They designed useless plastick hook sticking out to the side of the fan. Total nonsense. There are at least ƒ) solutions, 1 to rotate fan clockwise by 90 deg, or what I intend to do, is to hack-saw this useless hook off.Hook is close but not touching the mem card in slot Š that is the closest, and it might essentially remain as is.

It made them a good amount of cash off me. Nicely its my 1st build, but I have a lot of support from an individual who incredibly adept to constructing computers, It was a disaster, when we completed creating it, the computer system would restart every two seconds. We troubleshooted and isolated the problem with the mother board every little thing else just fine. We spent 5 hours attempting to solve every issue with it. Trying to get in contact with Gigabyte for pretty much a week now. They do not respond to their emails, telephone calls or smoke signals. . . This is actually frustrating. I know a lot of men and women have had the similar dilemma, however If everyone can tell me how they resolved it, I spend 100.00 dollars on this motherboard, and all i get is horrible customer service and a broken motherboard. . . I just want the matter to be resolved. I would not reccomend any individual to purchase this board, unless you have cash to burn, and if thats the case send me 100 bucks and i'll "burn" it for ya. The i7 does not support intel graphics technology. This signifies that I can not even get to a bios screen without the use of an external graphics card. The board has some excellent options for the cost range, but be warned. If you were planning on obtaining an i7 you need to have an external video card. This was not clearly stated on either the producers web site or on newegg. Just fine print on the bottom of the box it came in. Mainly because of the nice i/o choices and the truth that it would probably be nice with an i3 or i5 it still gets three eggs.

My setup below gives only thermal limitations to overclock of memory and processor with graphics. This setup is subsequent year’s system obtainable now! With the novice’s capability to overclock this, paying much more is a waste of your cash. Here is how: The memory spec is significant to max overclock with stability, but the Intel proc I3 530 is just as successful as I5. “Throttling” feature of a lot more expensive procs are marketing and advertising hype. I3 idles at 9 watts overclocked. Be certain to get the 1.three volt ECO … 7D series memory as this gives the “headroom” to overclock above the DDR1600 rating of other memory (it is also the Gigabyte listed G-Skill memory from their website). Even though the mem used could cost ฤ more, it is doable to take it from DDR 1333 stock to DDR2200 making use of blk of 160 Mhz and 22 multiplier to 3.52 Ghz on this motherboard. I started with the “Load Optimized Defaults” in the BIOS with the following Critical changes. Be positive to monitor temps in any overclocking setups (I employed the supplied EasyTune6… the rest of the included Giga MB software program is worthless as the MB and Microsoft manage all that is required automatically) To shield your purchases when overclocking, be confident to install the included buzzer into the speaker +- location on the board and set the bios “pc well being status” and the “fan fail warnings” to alarm (audible by means of the buzzer now) the CPU temp above 70 deg C. In the bios MI Tweaker screen, “Advanced Memory Settings, set “XMP” to the “Profile1” supplied on the memory internally from G-Skill. This sets quite a few settings in the BIOS to a manufacturer provided setting. Caution! The voltage supplied by the G-Skill XMP settings might be too high Ƒ.41V CPUVcore under the X.M.P.is far more than I was comfortable with) and could shorten proc life. Upon discovery, I turned it down to setting of 1.25625 for safety of my CPU and for less heating. My program tests stable working with Intel burn test and Prime95 (free downloads on the web- just search). This is why I am not comfortable with the EasyTune6 for overclocking and I am cautious to take into account all factory settings which includes XMP. I do use the E

Lastly got it to power up!Ubuntu ten runs wonderful so far.G.Skill Ripjaws memory functions effectively. I was very close to returning it as defective, as the MB kept rebooting. The CPU fan would turn on for 1ǘ sec, then it would go down, ...then it would try once again, ...and go down, etc.The manual makes it seem that the P8 connector is optional and only required for Intel Extreme CPUs. Properly, I bought a Molex to P8 adapter, and the MB started working fine. They ought to contain this power adapter cable in the retail box.The boot screen modifications resolutions/frequencies way too numerous times ahead of it gets to the boot menu. Not certain if there's something I can do about this, but so far, it's annoying. Even though this is a Rev. 2. board, my confidence in this product is really low at this point. I'll run a soft four drive RAID10 and Win XP via virtualization, and see how it does.Newegg got this and a bunch of other stuff delivered to me overnight for ū :) good!

All worked out OK, RMAd the mobo to newegg and the new 1 wouldnt post. Looking at evaluations from this and the H55M-USB, there is a bad batch out, most most likely due to a poor bios. All recent evaluations have been bad, while old evaluations with F4 bios and earlier have been excellent. Its been about a month since i recieved all the parts, due to getting to check all parts twice in a unique mobo, and go through one RMA. It will take Gigabyte a different month to RMA this second board, as they dont have an advanced RMA service. This is assuming they finally send me a operating mobo rather of another broken 1. Plus gigabytes tech assistance is just a pitiful. Ive utilized Gigabyte for dozens of builds with no problems, but this is just painful.
