No problems when paired with a Core i3 530. All the video outputs (VGA, DVI, Displayport, HDMI) function with no issue. Passes HDCP-encrypted video by way of to my monitor without incident. Really low power consumption ࿄w idle). N/A Soon after seeing a bunch of these evaluations, I was a little worried about getting this board. I had no difficulties with this board, even so. I installed everything and powered it on with out incident. Couldn't be happier with this board.

Works great with Snow Leopard. Installed quickly and totally functional. No 24ǝ tech support. Initially board arrived and I couldnt get to power on so I RMA'd right after not becoming able to get in make contact with with anybody at Gigabyte support. Second 1 arrived and had the exact same issue. Phase 1 LED was coming on and rapidly going out. Turned out the board would not turn on due to a connector on my case. Unplugged case connectors 1 by one and identified the culprit, then was in a position to boot correct up.

Solid layout, HDMI and displayport, will send audio over DVI with a DVI to HDMI cable (can't report how several channels given that I use a separate optical connection to my receiver). no USB 3., no onboard raid but i don't believe any of the h55's have that. Bios doesn't show true IGP frequency when you overclock, you have to calculate it your self (not a large deal). Overall it's a solid board for low-cost if you don't care about USB three.. I have it in a Lian Li case performing htpc duty. It has a generally nicely setup bios for overclocking. I had a i3 530 up to four.00ghz at 1.3v stable with the igp active. It had more but i was nearing temp max with the stock cooler in benching. At present operating at three.four. Make confident you grab the most recent bios from the gigabyte web page since the included bios won't let you independently adjust the igp freq.

Great stable board. Yes it does perform with XP. See beneath. None To get XP to install you want to slipstream the F6 drivers, specifically the ř Series񳤸" driver. Working with an actual floppy hasn't worked because ICH9. If you haven't slipstreamed drivers just before google nLite.

Extremely nice layout. Onboard video functions wonderful! Excellent if you In no way strategy on installing more than 4 Gigs of memory (in the white slots)!! Will NOT perform stabily with more than two sticks of memory installed-four Gig. total! I bought three of these as a combo deal with Gskill F3-10666CL8D-4GBHK memory and the Core I5 661 processor. All three pass memtest and Win7 memtest with 2 sticks installed but fail with 4 installed. Memory timing and voltage were set effectively (then underclocked) no difference! This memory is on the Gigabyte compatibility list!!!! Have the newest bios update Ɨ). Using two Antech 650W power supplies and 1 Coler Master 500W supply. It has three years warranty. Can't load any OS. Can't Flash BIOS. Reboots just about every within the very first 5 minutes. Tried all three boards similar result. Possibly its time to take down the Gigabyte posters in my store and put back the ASUS. Purchased three of these boards to sell in my PC store. Built one with Core i3-530 4 Gigs Mushkin Silverline DDR3 (Both RAM & CPU had bundle options with this MB) and used a 585 watts PS. Program kept rebooting five min into installation. changed MB, HD, PS. exact same issue. attempted to flash bios from utility in bios but would tell me no HDs discovered. attempted from usb hd same result. bios size is 8 mb can't fit on floppy. emailed Gigabyte for support. No aid received however. Manufacturer Response:Thank you for your comments. Honest and constructive opinions are always welcome. We apologize for your difficulty with your Gigabyte product. Overclocking possibilities. Comes with all the utilities and drivers you'd anticipate from Gigabyte.High upgradeability makes this motherboard futureproof for gamers and non-gamers alike.two PCI-e 2. slots, which is good if you ever want, say, a GTX 470 with a GTS 450 as a PhysX card.Headers (for the most portion) are out of the way of other components. The CPU fan header is placed in such a position that will need removing some of the energy cord cabling from 1 of the clips off of the stock Intel CPU cooler, which means you'll have loose cable that you'll will need to ziptie to your HD audio cable to prevent it from receiving chewed up by the fan, which is a minor thing, but annoying. Not worth dropping an egg more than although. Remember, the onboard video connectors will ONLY function when this motherboard is coupled with a Core i3 5xx or Core i5 6xx series processor.

It temporarily brightened my week as I waited for it to arive. It speedily shattered my hopes as I realized it was DOA. Out of the box this Mobo would not diplay any video or POST.I did have a separate video card installed in the pc as I read this motherboard did not come with onboard video.I have requested an RMA and will post an additional review depending on the well being of that mobo. This was my first try at purchasing a mobo from this particular vendor at the recommendation of a colleague. I'm not positive if the vendor is negative, this model is negative, or if that particular co-worker just doesn't like me, but my initial impression is not a good one. This board has and does everything you want to construct an inexpensive htpc, coupled with an I3. Lots of bios selections, such as backups, power, overclock and so on. At 54 years old, I applied this to create my very first method. I'll never ever go back to a retail system. I found this board straightforward to configure, and forgiving if I made a mistake, which at my level of understanding happens. The ide header was valuable to me mainly because of the old drives I had from other systems. The onboard audio is great, the ps2 port is valuable for resuming from s3 sleep. power saving functions are excellent. Cost /performance is challenging to beat if you wait for a sale. Program cost 360 -- board, I3, case, bfg450w ps, optiarc dvdrw, 3gb ocz ram, wd 500gb black hdd. Started with 2 of the 3 1gb ram sticks to load os and do some tests. After adding the third 1gb stick [bought tri channel on sale-55 bucks] the benchmarks were practically the identical. I had read that dual channel was not considerably quicker in numerous apps. Accurate in my case. Almost didn't purchase this board mainly because of the review percentages, but then read the critiques. I'm at a loss how so many of seemingly higher information than me can invest many hundred dollars without reading or understanding what they are getting. Newegg is the only internet site with mfg's links on every single item. If you can't or won't use them to understand this board needs a video card unless you use an I3-I5 with integrated video, go to wallyword or dell and quit giving poor reviews for your incompetence. Thanks Newegg for the links. I had researched h55, p55 and I3-5 series prior to I began looking for boards. As soon as I identified this board, the links had been really useful. I have no cons for this board. It was straightforward to install, came with cables, very good instruction manual, manufacture's internet site is superb. I spent about three weeks watching and waiting for sales, free shipping to get the parts for my program. Perhaps I'm a lot more patient than some, but the system I have at the price, was worth the wait. The manual for this board is extensive. read the other evaluations before bypassing this board. Most of the bad critiques came from 2 or 3 concerns-ram in the wrong slots, a processor requiring a video card, and clearly, not plugging in the four prong atx connector in additon to the 20Ʋ connector. 1 guy with four poor boards??? Genuinely? Or clueless. Some evaluations didn't like the ram defaulting to the lowest speed, but if you had been a manufacturer and had to sell to some of these reviewers, wouldn't you try to steer clear of as numerous startup problems as you could? Gigabyte will give you recommendations on your ram in their utility software- just follow their guidelines. Use this program for playing movies etc, no video card, and it works wonderful. Processor is rarely over 30%. My opinion-the ideal board for characteristics/value. READ

Runs Windows 7 fine. Appears sturdy. Will not run Windows XP. This is NOT a SATA driver problem. XP Skilled 32 bit WILL NOT LOAD - PERIOD.GIGABYTE advertizes compatability with XP - THIS IS A LIE. They can't support me to resolve this other than telling me to RMA the boards. Sadly I bought two of them and it's too late to RMA them and now I'm stuck with USELESS JUNK (not counting the processors which I can't return either). I blew more than 轜 on two motherboards and processors that are SUPPOSED TO RUN XP according to Gigabyte. THEY DO NOT. I have attempted both parallel as well as SATA difficult drives and optical drives. I've tried each and every imaginable BIOS setting. The windows XP install hangs as soon as it starts to launch windows then the BSOD appears indicating a memory dilemma. My memory is 1.5v and on the approved list for the board. I tried one stick, two sticks, and four sticks in every doable configuration. I tried an i5 with intergrated graphics and an i7 with a dedicated PCIE video card. No go. This will be the last Gigabyte item I ever purchase. Tech support stinks as does this board. This is fairly sad. 50+ hours and more than 迀 wasted. If Gigabyte can't support me the least they could do is just admit this board does not run XP so they don't cause other people the very same headaches I have. Stay away if you intend to run XP. Play's Blu-ray's, Hulu, Vimeo and anything else I've thrown at it. All runing under Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Actually wish it had RAID support:( No big deal, I just require to by a great RAID controll, this time one with a battery backup. Purchased this for a Hackintosh build along with the Core i3-530. Works wonderful, if you know what you're performing. I like the 2oz PCB and the BIOS supports overclocking. Integrated video worked good in Windows, but I upgraded to a 9800 GT for the Mac video assistance. 2nd PCIe slot is only 4x, but I don't plan on needing that. No USB3 or 6gb/s sata either, but if you're looking to be on the cutting edge you'd be searching at a much better board anyways! Good inexpensive board for a cheap hackintosh construct.

There are many responses from manufacturer in these posts to individuals who seem to be getting similar challenge. There are far to quite a few folks making use of the rating program to post a rant. If you don't know what you are performing don't take that out on the manufacturer with a totally bogus item rating. It ends up skewing it all wrong and rendering these ratings useless to everybody. Certainly a motherboard isn't going to function correctly if you do not plug it it. How stupid is that?!

Has pretty much almost everything that you could want / want for a smaller board. Good BIOS, great layout and appears to be built solid. I've had fairly good luck with this brand. This is by no means a super gamer board, it works fine if you are going to slam it into a small office / household office and/or home laptop or computer. Preserve IN MIND, that depending on what CPU you are employing, you may well or MAYNOT getting working on-board video. So, check to make positive that your CPU will function if you want the on-board VGA or DVI. If you don't care about it, just smack in a PCIe and git-R-dun! three year warranty was a plus and I definitely like the size and all the ports. Good board for a superior cost. FYI, I ordered three mobo's in 1 shot and all of them posted and worked fine installing Windows 7 Skilled X64. The O.S. installed in under 20 minutes. iCore 5 two.8Ghz

RMA procedure was smooth, and fixed the non post problem. No info was supplied on specifically what if anything was wrong with the board. I believe they could have updated the bios on this board, making it compatible with much more types of ram. 4 eggs for not delivering further info about what the dilemma may possibly have been. Can\'t locate a single difficulty with this board because it was returned, running at 3.6 ghz with stock intel cooler for i3 2.93 ghz cpu, gskill 1600 two x 2gb memory. After marketplace cooling solution for this cpu, I must be able to get 4 ghz out of the processor with no issue. Bios has many functions for overclocking. Can be a bit perplexing. Do some reading in forums and newegg reviews.

This board was in fact incredibly tricky to get running stable with every thing. but right after all i have carried out i have finally got it up and running incredibly incredibly stable. this board is great when you get it up to par. i also had quite a few ram troubles with this motherboard(maybe compatability ) but i switched around the ram sticks in the slots, current running 2nd and 3rd slot counting from the left. honestly i would not give up on this board. attempt everything is my advice My corsair ram would not boot at 1st, not so a lot a con perhaps just a ram issue, replaced with g-skill ripjaw ram and runs liek a charm. The ram slots are tricky in this motherboard and the IDe dvd/cd drives didnt recognize correct away. MY ONLY two CONS. A lot more complex then usual but well worth it in the end. ty newegg. Minus 1 egg for the small complications.

So now I cant even go into bios or something. Installed an Intel i3 530 chip, stock chip cooler, A-Information 4GB ƒx2gb) DDR3, Corsair 400W 80Plus power and it started up with zero problems. Loaded with 32bit Windows Vista. Installed the drivers from Gigabyte web site. Comes with 3 levels of overclocking under the Simple Tune 6. All three were stable but I could not figure out how to monitor the temperature. The audio connector is proper above the PCIEX16. The cable has to rest on leading of the video card. Not a large deal, just not asthetically pleasing. Would only recommend if you are attempting to maintain the create affordable and do not strategy on installing a video card. The greatest headache I had was that it would not boot from an old 񢉒) IDE drive with 32bit XP Residence Edition. However, it would read the IDE drive when the personal computer was booted from a SATA drive loaded with Vista. Used a transfer Wizard to move the information from the old drive to the new drive with no further issues. The Windows Experience Index had been as follows:Processor: 5.7Memory RAM: 5.9Graphics: 4.8Graming Graphics: four.fivePrimary Hard Disk: five.9I then installed a GeForce 8600 GT 512MB 128 bit card from an old personal computer with the latest driver from Nvidea. The Gaming Graphics improved to 5.3. All the other values stayed the identical. None of the "Quick Enhance" selections in the Simple Tune 6 improved the Windows Expertise Score. Not a large deal given that this is not going to be a gaming rig.

None. It died on day 1. 1st day of usage, it stopped powering on whilst operating a prime95 anxiety test. While shorting the CMOS jumper to try to get it working again, a Mosfet exploded into flaming molten goo and began smoking. Not pleased. I'm RMAing it and will not get this very same board again. Even so, I do really feel confident in gigabyte as a brand, and will attempt a distinct 1 of their motherboards as it's replacement.Preserve in mind, a blown mosfet could occur to everyone, any manufacturer, any board. Gigabyte dosen't manufacture the mosfets, they obtain those in bulk.I personally just refuse to trust a different of the identical precise model with the identical precise mosfets in the very same exact layout.
