Performs superior than the broken 4850 it replaced.three year manufacturer warranty , i get a actually fantastic vibe from gigabyte. my Card oc's like a champion was in a position to get 900mhz core and 1200mhz mem (as higher as msi afterburner would let me) and no volting necessary or bios update but i dont have a dual monitor setup so cant comment on that. this GB custom heatsink seams to do its job perfectly in no way got above 65C when it was overclocked beneath complete load and have by no means noticed it above 58C stock under load. incredibly delighted with my get. Only produced me breakfast in bed after. the 6950 appears to be its competitor but its about ~โ a lot more that i didnt have at the time. primarily purchased this so my comp could deal with skyrim when it comes out and im one hundred% sure it will.

Gigabyte service is excellent! Aside from having to update the bios, there are zero problems with this card. I had previously noted in a evaluation that this card was great, but that the dual screen flicker was a deal killer. Gigabyte service got back to me the day soon after I gave them my info with a new bios for the card and due to the fact I haven't had any problems. I now really like this card, and can't wait to choose up a second for crossfire later this winter. :D

To the individual beneath:The flickering situation is not soley a challenge with the gigabyte card. Numerous users are possessing the situation when running dual monitors across several diverse brands of the 5850 and 5870. This is one thing ATI has to fix, hopefully in their drivers. It does have some thing to do with the 2d clocks not being higher adequate even though when utilizing two monitors but as I mentioned it pertains to a lot of cards when utilizing two monitors. none

I am not regretting upgrading to this card from a 4890. It was a definite setup in overall performance and energy control. I actually can step up visual functionality in all A++ games out with 1920x1200 I wish the price tag would come back to reality just before the next gen architecture is released, I would like to attempt CF. I would favor around 250 It is a cool running and quiet VGA and a step up from the 4980

Everything I play runs particularly well with the card. I only play stuff at 1680x1050 (native resolution of my monitor). At that resolution almost everything gets great framerates at high top quality settings. Nevertheless a bit pricey in my opinion, but higher finish card prices are definately trending upwards additional these days. Apparently there are various BIOS revisions floating about, initially card fan idles at 55%,even following BIOS updates. Replacement card idles at 40%, 30 c. The factory overclock supplies incredibly tiny difference than reference speeds. Initially card would crash to a grayish/white screen in BFBC2, game sound was still going, I could right here myself throw grenades and shoot, but no image. RMA'd the card by means of newegg suitable at day 30. New card works good so far.

I only have 1 monitor (a 24 inch flatscreen LG) so I have not experienced any problems that other reviewers pointed out. This is a very fast card, all of my 3d benchmarks have doubled compared to the 5770 I had prior to. Overall performance in games is fantastic, complete screen AA with no slow down, no crashes or issues. Playing all contemporary games in full HD, 1920 x 1080. Its a big card. It almost didnt match in my mid tower case. I am usually not a huge fan of ATI cards, but possessing a great knowledge with this a single.

Fantastic card for single monitor use. The Card is absolute garbage for many monitor use. When using a number of monitors they flicker and flash when clicking with a mouse moving a mou8ise or even just typing. I am trying to return or swap out the card. Strong built video card. I slapped this in my gaming rig replacing a sapphire 3870. I have under no circumstances purchased a gigabyte vid card, but I have employed their mobos for a although now. Nonetheless the same good quality as thier mobos. I oc'ed it in catalyst w/ their basic oc and it is operating flawless playing mod2 and video watching. The dual fan on this pup is so much additional quite than my 3870. I swore when I turned on my computer and coudnt hear the card that it was doa or anything. Nope just that fairly. Good acquire for the money. This card takes two pcie power adapters which can imply additional cables for some. This is also a quite extended card so make certain you have the appropriate size case to accommodate the size of the card. * Pulls good FPS for games.* Nicely documented and incorporates all needed cables.* Overclocked out of the box * As expected, a largish card, make sure to have ample space* Overclocked out of the box, which may possibly be the reason for the subsequent con:* When running dual monitors in Win7Pro x64bit, any video playback (Youtube, and DVD playback) causes screen flickering and tearing on my Dell E207WPF @ 1680x1050 60hz screen. The Asus VH242H @ 1920x1080 60hz is fine even if the DVI inputs are swapped among monitors. Dilemma is much more severe as higher resolution videos are played. Almost everything is at default settings with no further overclocking. Most current Catalyst drivers: 8.732... Bios Version F5, flashed from F3.Video Card's BIOS has been flashed right away upon installing to F5 by use of the ATIFlash tool in dos. Suspect the dilemma lies in the card's two-D BIOS settings. Good card. I guess it's a "big" card, but wasn't practically as massive as I expected. It's in a CM HAF 932 that swallows it up and keeps it operating nice and cool. No complaints at all - all games I've thrown at it so far run as smooth as silk. So far the HL2 series, L4D1ư, and the COD4 demo. Would enjoy to attempt Crysis on it, but not certain I can stomach the huge-brother-ware that comes with it... Enjoy the dual cooling fans. Even in such a porous case sitting suitable on the desk subsequent to me, it seriously isn't very loud even when gaming. I don't have the flicker problems other individuals have reported on my key monitor (an ASUS 23" 2ms LCD connected to bottom DVI port). But just for giggles, I briefly hooked up my old 17" LCD monitor as a second monitor on the upper DVI, and did have the flicker troubles on that monitor only. Not a issue for me as the two monitors have been taking up as well significantly space on my desk anyway. Colour scheme matches my Gigabyte GA-890fxa-ud5 completely - consider that. Would match my case superior if it had a red color scheme although. Card vents hot air into the case rather of out the back, but it's not a challenge at all for the HAF 932.

Quick.Quick.Fast.I run Warcraft on a 3840x1080 Eyefinity setup and framerates cap out at 120 FPS in raids just before the video card hits it's limitations. It is fairly quiet when you adjust the fan curve to turn the fans down a bit at low temperatures. It was 50 deg in use on stock settings.A lot much easier on space and airflow then a Crossfire setup. Creating a balanced technique with this card will call for some pretty hefty specs on other elements. Not exactly a con but certainly a thing to look at with your general create.Gigabyte on the net documentation is written in Engrish.Didn't come with the newest bios, so you have to flash it. Not hard, except that the utility mentioned in the documentation isn't for the most up-to-date version of Windows. You want the VGA Tools -- @BIOS utility and then it's easy. The AMD GPU Clock Tool got me to 950 MHz core, 1200 MHz memory, but I backed it off to 900񳀼.I would not contemplate this card unless you are planning on running a number of displays or have an incredibly large show. Contemplate your airflow. Make confident that you're not drawing against a different fan, as would be my case if I didn't have a side fan I can use as an intake.

This card is a powerhouse. I haven't found a game yet that it doesn't run without a sweat. Gigabyte is a good corporation and has 1 of the finest warranties for ATI cards. Even immediately after flashing the card BIOS to F5 in order to enable the "Dynamic Energy Saving" function, the fans will often ramp up and make ticking noises. It hasn't appeared to have any adverse effects yet. My only reason for knocking an egg off. I may speak to Gigabyte to see what they feel about the ticking noises of my fans. I've always had excellent luck with their tech assistance for motherboards and I'm hoping the same can be stated of their video cards. This card is the initial ATI card I've purchased for ages due to the relative lack of lifetime warranties.

I purchased two of these in Crossfire. Operate great, Gigabyte makes strong merchandise. Fast, trusted, cool. No troubles. Like every single other video card, if you put them in crossfire the second card does not have adequate breathing room for the cooling fans so it runs a lot hotter then the a single on best of it. But these does not compromise stability.

Excellent out of box efficiency. Windows knowledge of 7.7 at stock settings! Appears excellent and runs relatively quiet. Video card was longer that I anticipated. Not worth bumping the rating, it did fit. Required to re-arrange harddrive orientation in the caddy on a mid tower Lian Li case so the card would fit. Set up was uncomplicated soon after that. Upgraded driver and flashed bios without having incident.
