none Purchased in june 2009 drive died contacted Hitachi for rma no response, checked internet internet site for warranty, no warranty and the drive was produced in 2009. I build computers and repair for a living, this is not what you want to tell a customer. Stay with a corporation who stands behind their item, like western digital.

Works. None. Works as advertised, no flaws.

Came much quicker than I expected. Worked as it was supposed to. Excellent price. I guess I didn't read far enough. Didn't come with it's own SATA cable. I had an additional though, so it worked out fine.

Speedy read and write speeds and flawless top quality without a challenge in six months.. Not poor for a fair size hard drive at an great price. None

These are big drives for a low cost and have a great reputation. They bought IBM's challenging drive manufacturing. The initial drive did a long format error no cost and the RMA replacement for the second drive also formatted error free. 1 drive had a tiny tear in the ESD bag and 2 corners of the cover had been bent. The drive was DOA and not recognized by the laptop or computer. NewEgg sent a prompt replacement. I suspect some drives had been dropped or damaged prior to NewEgg shipping them given that they were well packaged when I received them. I've had excellent Customer Service from NewEgg but losing the return shipping expenses on defective merchandise makes some deals much less appealing.

Well I purchased this drive to replace a failing Seagate that was just causing me problems. I had one of those Seagate 500gb 7200.11 models that was just failing prematurely. I decide to give Hitachi a try since I need a fast 7200 rpm hard drive for my main drive. The Hitachi has been preforming quite well. It’s cooler than any of my hd drives and seems to fast. I got it here on sale so the price was also quite good. Ncix was quick in shipping.

I was wondering this looks and sounds like a good tough rive but should I go for this or the samsung F3 500gb I don't own one I am extremely sorry this is not a review but i am just not shure which 1 to get. and again my apologies

-Price none I did not pay attention to the "bare drive" mention, so there's just the difficult drive, no sata cable or anything. Just be sure that you have a sata II cable.

This drive is pretty fast. I'm mainly using it to hold recorded shows from Windows Media Center because the file format is bloated at 4gbs per hour. Plus I can keep my older drive for pics, games, and whatnot as to not disturb my app execution.

This is a Great hard drive for the price. I wanted to avoid Seagate after a crash lead me to seek out their product support and found that it's virtually non-existent! Works well and as expected, would buy another if I had a reason.

got this on sale for $30 it was a good deal and so far works gratehas a slower 19.6ms access time but has vary fast sequential read speed of max 135mb/s average 113mb min 71mbruns quiet and cool and with only 1 platter it should last longer cause there's less moving parts
