Works good with Beyond Television 4..... I bought 2 at the identical time about two years ago. 1 stopped working about 1 1ǘ years later. This is the greatest card that I am aware of that has 2 tuners from a big named business. Hopefully the subsequent one particular I buy lasts

Been operating this in conjunction with WMC for virtually a month. All my shows have been recording flawlessly. The card seems to perform well. No complications with it that I am conscious of as but. Drivers are not accessible on the web as far as I can tell. You really have to maintain the installation disc for this product, as Windows will not recognize it otherwise...

The Tuner does function out of the box and is recognized by Win7 32bit utilizing either drivers from the included CD or from Hauppauge's personal website. The problem is that either the drivers from Hauppauge are either not working effectively and/or BeyondTV, SageTV and Windows Media Center don't however support the HVR-2250. I don't doubt that "somehow" the Tuner operates with most of the software program accessible proper now but be prepared to do a some google searches on how to get it to perform.

It picks up Digital and Analog channels readily available through your cable provider...* *IF you have the digital cable box in line from your cable Television provider! It Will Not choose up digital channels like a HDTV tuner on existing LCDs or Plasmas will with out a cable box! You Must have a Digital/HDTV cable box supplied by your cable provider to get the full effect of this Tv tuner card! Also, it is a capture card for Tv only! If you do video capture from DVD or VCR employing applications like I do with Pinnacle Studio, Pinnacle will not detect this card as a capture device! I took a shot in the dark on this and was incorrect.. The A/V input connector as properly as the additional A/V panel is basically useless unless you strategy on connecting your cable box to the card through S-video and/or RCA audio video cables.. This is what threw me off thinking this was a capture device for DVD/VCR capture as nicely..No IR Blaster cable offered with this model - This will stop you from a correct setup in Windows Media Center when deciding on a cable Leading Box in the setup. I had to select no leading box to finish the install adequately.General, I'm not overly thrilled not just with the limits of the Television tuner card for my wants but the reality my ATI AIW X1900 that worked flawlessly in XP is reduced to a simple dual monitor only ability now. I now have to have a separate Television tuner card for watching Tv on my laptop or computer as properly as a separate capture card for DVD/VCR capturing (which I have however to come across due to scathing evaluations of numerous models I've looked at), so be advised!

Lovely image and sound. Picks up all my local OTA (over-the-air) stations crystal-clear. Can record two shows even though watching a recorded show. No cons. Working with Vista Media Center, setting up both tuners as ATSC, you don't get radio (needs to have a single tuner set up as analog). This is a Vista Media Center problem, not the tuner card's fault. There is a hack you can do, to tell VMC that one particular tuner is a hybrid, so VMC will recognize the radio, but you'll threat missing an ATSC recording.I'm actually thrilled at the picture and excellent OTA reception with this card. I've utilised cards from two other producers and this one particular is far superior.I've got it in my program in a PCIEx16 slot, works just fine. Of course, you can put any PCIEx1 card in a PCIEx16 slot, no difficulty.I did not attempt the WinTV application that came with the card, considering that I planned to use Vista Media Center.Paired this up with a refurbished ASUS CM5570 for a sweet & cheap HTPC. Couldn't be happier.

This has been a extremely reputable tuner for me, with no complications for over six months. Conflicting/Outdated? instructions on which socket to plug the secondary bracket into. I was already operating Windows 7 Media Center with a separate MS certified IR Receiver and Blaster. I bought this card to replace a tuner that was occasionally failing. I rated this a five simply because this tuner card has been 100% reputable for me, which is very critical in an HTPC.

(Using WinXP). It does indeed work beneath XP. Recording, viewing, almost everything DOES work. The XP drivers are somewhat lackluster. The Hauppauge software isn't stellar. It feels fairly clumsy and slow. Windows 7 sounds like it'll be substantially superior for the card.

-Was uncomplicated to install-two hardware tuners-two hardware encoders-supports 3rd portion media suites like SageTV and Windows Media Center This is an OEM product so it won't come with WinTV. I'm presently employing it with SageTV, which works ok. You have to obtain WinTV separately. An additional factor is that (to my knowledge) the hardware desires a software package to even use it. It'd be cool if you could just install with drivers and it would show up on your personal computer, possibly with some built-in software in a ROM or one thing. Anyway, I'm certain this is just industry normal, so oh nicely. I'm at the moment using it to convert VHS tapes to digital media. Does a fantastic job encoding two separate streams every with stereo sound. Excellent litle card.

Functions. First Tuner card ever owned. Functions seamlessly in Win7. Tuner is incredibly effective for my area. My Tv's struggle to grab signal Ƒ television is six mo. old, the other is 5 yrs. all built in HD tuners) this thing pulls in even the most complicated channels. None. Don't have the second tuner connected to a separate antenna yet. I purchased this to pull in over the air HD channels only and DVR by means of Win7 Media Center. I bought a separate remote rather than making use of the remote that was bundled with it (different item) for far more funds. I did have an issue exactly where I had re-run Media Center setup to get the Tv/DVR to operate appropriately. As this was not a fresh develop, once that was carried out, it worked excellent.

The finest thing about this card is the dual tuners. I also think about it an benefit that it's an internal card. My initial Television Tuner was a USB tuner that was riddled with problems. I've had zero complications with this card. The FM tuner is good to have, but I don't genuinely use it. It is fairly bulky for a Television Tuner Card, but it really should fit in most circumstances. Seriously, I take into account this card a must for any HTPC. Getting a single tuner seriously isn't sufficient, and this is a a lot greater way to go than to put in many cards. Check the size just in case, but I doubt it will be an concern for quite a few people. Whatever you get, just be positive you go the fixed internal card route and remain away from those awful USB tuners and video capture devices.

effortless to configure in windows 7 media center. no troubles with drivers. QAM HD channels appear gorgeous! AND they record with no any slowdown to the method. Was in a position to play COD:MW2 and recorded an HD QAM show with no problems. media center forgot it had dual tuners once. though when it did this, i replaced my video card, so that May have had something to do with it. windows 7 media center Ɨmc) picks up the QAM channels, but there is no guide facts for them, so i have to manually map the channels. which 7mc makes a piece of cake! so if you do a scan and 7mc doesnt locate channels, edit your guide info and make positive all your channels are checked off that you want. All around fantastic card for 7mc

- Dual Tuner (not hybrid although - both tuners ought to be used as either More than the Air or both need to be employed as clear QAM)- Did not install any Hauppauge certain drivers or computer software with Windows 7 Media Center - just worked well with automatically found drivers - Does not pick up my Time Warner Cable clear QAM channels. My HDTV often has trouble with the signal also so it may be my cable program but at least the Tv gets the channels most of the time. When performing a signal scan utilizing Windows 7 Media Center, it doesn't uncover something usable.- This is the only reason I'm giving it a four star rather of five star rating

This is tuner worked in my 64-Bit install of Windows 7. I had some other cards that worked excellent on 32-Bit Win7 but had been not usable on the 64-Bit box. It will work in any PCI express slot since it is a 1X card. Dual tuners and it can see the couple of clear QAM channels on my local cable method. nothing key I haven't used the FM tuner or more than the air HDTV so I don't know how properly it performs there. I haven't attempted to put in any signal other than the cable Television.

I put two of these in an P4 2.8 gig box with XP using BeyondTV. Was in a position to record 4 channels and stream to 2 Television's at as soon as flawlessly. The tuners are as sensitive as my most sensitive Tv. There is no media extender box ( not even the Hauppage MediaMVP-HD) that will let you appear at the guide, record, or erase. That implies for all practical purposes you need to have a separate setup for every single Tv. Emailed Hauppauge, since they sell an extender, and they have no plans to add guide, record, erase functionality to their extender. Too bad since if they had this capability it would be a excellent system.

Don't own; came to comment on usability. Don't own; came to comment on usability. With analog NTSC almost vanished now — Comcast analog channels are down to 26 here in Northern Virginia, half of which aren't worth watching, with additional getting chopped every month or two, and Verizon FiOS channels are all digital, no NTSC at all — the analog tuner is nearly useless, and on FiOS totally useless. That leaves the digital tuner input, which can obtain either ATSC or ClearQAM, but not each simultaneously, so you're restricted to over-the-air ATSC or unencrypted digital cable ClearQAM, essentially creating this a single input tuner. You could use the NTSC tuner input to get the analog output of a set leading box, but that appears pointless unelss you want to record the analog, given that most set leading boxes can directly feed a monitor. And anyway, the digital versions of the SDTV channels give significantly better video. For ATSC this card really should do fine, but that's only half-use. There may possibly be other methods to use more of the dual input capability of this card, but I can't assume of any

Just operates fantastic immediately after download driver and application from Hauppauge site. None Some individuals complain about hauppauge WinTV7 application, but it's not negative compare to other Turner makers. BTW Win7 Media Center blow away all other third party Television watch software, I don't want them at all now (it's a ought to in XP era). So if you have Win7 and WMC, and will need Tv on PC, acquire this turner card.

Works great with Beyond Tv, SageTV 6, SageTV 7 beta and Windows 7 Media Center.2 QAM tuners, two ATSC tuners. None Works nicely with Beyond Tv, SageTV 6, SageTV 7 beta and Windows 7 Media Center. My testing shows that any of the above programs permit for the setup of 4 QAM and 4 ATSC tuners with two HVR-2250's installed. I've tested them all and I like SageTV 7 the ideal. Getting able to record four HDTV channels at once with incredibly little CPU usage with my i7 processors is remarkable. Basically plug and play. Bought for a media center that required a low profile bracket, this included it and install was uncomplicated. Perhaps I'm missing some thing here, but I tried twice, and the CD included stated it didn't have the right drivers. Took off 1 egg mainly because I had to go to the internet site and download. So far works excellent. Maybe I'm becoming a little harsh with the con, but it annoyed me.Wish the price was lower too... 10$ additional for the remote seemed excessive.

Can tune analog AND digital from both tuners. For บ, WinTV Extend will stream to your Ipad. I ended up returning the two hauppauge card I received. They couldn't lock ATSC channels working with the Tv input, only using the FM input (looks like a bug, but on 2 cards out of 2?).Immediately after connecting to the FM input, the tuner could only lock a small a lot more than half of my ATSC channels.Their tuner are so weak, it couldn't pick any channel with a reception under 85%.Signal strength is seriously various between tuner 1 and tuner 2 on the exact same card. One tuner could lock a channel with a 100% strength and the other couldn't lock at all. Tuner is too weak.WinTV Extend doesn't worth it.I replaced the Hauppauge 2250 card by an AverTVHD Duet instead.Half the price and the tuner is SO sensitive AverTVHD Duet = paradise.
