Great priceGood HD image good qualityEffortless set up No FMWinTV is a P.I.T.A at timesDosen't pick up standard channels, but thats ISP's fault Very good tuner for the value, it does what it requires to do. It doesn't get the fundamental channels from Comcast but thats not the tuners fault. I have the free converter from Comcast and leave it on CH three and use their clicker to flip channels, not rather or organized but it works. Would stay away from the additional expensive ones unless all you want is totally free channels, i.e. OTA

Clear reception. Fantastic, clean compatibility with Media Center on Windows 7 64-bit. Adequate remote. Remote sensor quite weak. Stock drivers on disc will grant you channels. Update as soon as you set up. Can only watch what it is you are recording.

Great video/sound good quality. Functions well with Media Center. Remote feels inexpensive but works incredibly properly. The only con I can discover is that the remote won't wake my pc from sleep mode. The WinTV software program is garbage. Just got to the Hauppage web site and download the drivers and the Remote software program. Thats all you require to get it to work in WMC for Windows 7. I use if for NTSC and ClearQAM cable. WMC says it didn't detect any ClearQAM channels, but it did. you just have to go in and add them to the channel list.

Im incredibly happy with this tuner. It has fantastic picture top quality, quick channel modifications, picks up far more channels than my old HD tuner, and performs perfectly with Win7 Media Center. I had to install the IR remote receiving system manually, its on the driver disk in the "IR32" folder. And make positive you push the IR receiver plug all the way into its connector, it requirements to go additional in than you will 1st think. If you're just hunting for a solid, inexpensive, no frills HD tuner, this is the 1 to acquire!

most affordable hauppauge card i could uncover with a remote. functions fine with Win 7 home prem 64 bit. remote was confusing to set up, did not auto load with the other driver's and software program, had to go to web site and d/l remote app. I didn't like the WinTV computer software, so I'm employing it in WIndows media center, which the remote performs fine with. good item general

Low cost. Great tuners. Didn't operate out of the box. The newer version of the tuner chip needs some finagling to get it to perform with a linux OS. See my tutorial "How to Enable Your Hauppauge 1250 tv card" on the Ubuntu forum.

Operates as advertised. Contrary to N/A reviewer comments under, this tuner receives and decodes HD channels from more than the air (ATSC) antenna and unencrypted cable signals (clear QAM). Superb picture quality. The bundled software is wonderful. Records HD in TS format. You can cut out commercials with a TS editor such as bitstreamtools TS packet editor. My OS is Windows 7. None. I am organizing to acquire another one for another Pc.

I'm getting an amazing HD quality image by tuning to ATSC with a homemade antenna. It tuned ABC, CBS, and NBC HD correct off the bat. I'm utilizing a homemade antenna that cost 12 bucks to make and about 30 minute of my time. This can't decode HD channels straight from the analogue cable line, so if you have a fundamental cable package with HD channels you'll will need to have a separate HD decoding box outside the Pc. This card will tune HD broadcast over the air in digital ATSC thru an actual antenna. If you had a card with two inputs, you could connect both sources and get the very best of both worlds...undoubtedly anything to feel about, and it's making me think about returning this card for a dual input upgrade. See Cons....working with digital antenna tuning supplies HD but doesn't permit me to see many of the channels in my basic Cable package. It's a toss up.

All channels come in fine and the remote operates with media center. Finding about 8 HD channels. Recording performs wonderful as nicely. This is 1 of the greatest addons you can place on a comp. none Recording can take up a lot of space. For example about 60 min of recording Normal Definition at highest top quality will take up just over 3gigs (With Windows Media Center).

Just Functions. I plugged the card into my PCI 1x slot, loaded the video driver (not the wintv software program) from the included CD, and permitted it to self update. I then ran Windows Media Center Live Tv setup, and I am cooking. Great card, straightforward to use. I Have not yet tried remote. I do not expect huge items from it. Records fine in Windows Media Center. None actually, wish it had two tuners for the value of a single (greedy). Windows 7 64bitAsus M4A89GTD (currently using onboard video and sound)absolutely nothing else relevant.

When this card is employed in a Win7 Premium technique, Media Center operates flawlessly. Best 480 definition functionality of the several varieties I have tried IMO. I am about to order my fifth card. My cable business is currently converting their analog channels to QAM 480 definition more than a three month interval. This card handles that just fine for me for the 1st month's adjust. Tiny card good for tight HTPC's. None I do not use the included remote but use my WMC remote. I have employed this with AMD/ATI 55xx series of graphic cards for several of my builds to accomplish wonderful image adjustment and supply an HDMI feed to my 32inch panel. This combo makes the 480 def pix very desirable and with great color. (Analog or QAM)

Great stuff! At initially I was skeptical about Happauge, considering that I didn't know significantly about them. I initally (and with reservations) purchased the 1600 PCI model for my HTPC. The remote worked wonderful along with Media Center (Vista). I ended up attempting out USB tuners to add a second 1, so I could watch one particular issue and record another, at the exact same time. I finally located this 1250 and jumped on it! Setup was a snap and a rapid run with MC, splice my cable coax, and I was golden! I do, nevertheless, have an extra remote and IR receiver. The S-Video input works fantastic as a PVR for my X-Box 360 as properly. (granted it's max res of 480p). I'm glad I purchased this. 1 of two cons I have is that the remote does not operate with Windows. It functions just fine for Media Center use and navigation. Just not common Windows Vista use.The second thing is that the integrated computer software on the 1600 isn't also good for Television. It's incredibly slow (if at all) on responsiveness with the remote and/or keymouse and mouse. The application looks great and effortless-ish to use, when it responds. Use Media Center and you're great-to-go! This is definitely encouraged by me! Neither of my Hauppauge cards have had concerns. The 1600 is PCI and this 1250 is PCI-E. Perfect! If you don't mind the remote only usable with the included computer software and/or Media Center, then get either one of the Hauppauge cards!...I like cheese!

Works fine with Win7 64Bit. Picture good quality is good enough. Enables you to record and pause live Tv, you can adjust the destination of the saved videos to any drive you want and can adjust the top quality of the recording to save space if you don't care about it being as clear and clean as achievable. I also genuinely like that it lets you watch in Windowed or fullscreen mode. So I can now browse Newegg and Watch Television at the very same time on the identical screen. ^_^ My remote worked for three minutes, then stopped completely. Now it performs for a couple minutes every time I first start up the Wintv application and then stops randomly once again. It isn't that massive of a deal since it still operates fine but I docked a star for that. It's nevertheless a great product. Any slot that it will fit in, it will perform in. The heatsink on my NorthBridge blocked the PCI-Ex1 so I had to use the only one particular available. So this isn't really a pro for this product particularly but It was a massive relief to locate that it would work in a diverse slot as lengthy as it fits. When my northbridge blocked the card I got super nervous and started feeling like a total dip$h1t.

I'm not employing the tuner, but wanted it in situation I tried OTA signals for receiving locals in HD. Setup was quite effortless. Would suggest.

Good cost. Set-up is extremely uncomplicated. I just plugged it in, Windows 7 installed all of the drivers I required to use it. I haven't tried employing the DVR software that came with this though trigger I figure it would be tricky to best Windows Media Center. I did have to put the CD in to set up a driver for the remote. No complaints at all for the remote. Digital channels are good high quality. Analog channels are noticeably worse high quality than on a genuine Television, but you get employed to it speedily. For the price I don't thoughts the poor top quality of the analog channels. I have no expertise with any other Television tuners but I'm guessing you could get greater image good quality with one more tuner... but you'll in all probability spend additional than โ. Also I don't notice any pc lag with the tuner is recording. I have an Intel two.33 GHz quad core and four GB memory.

I can game, watch Television, and record all at the same time for about 50 : ) I have nothing to evaluate it to but it is good to watch HDTV over the air with house created fractional antenna strapped to a bucket lid that cost about four bucks to make. Think me it is ugly but it is it is entertaining to make a thing from junk at house that operates, and it is tiny adequate to hide behind a thing. Please note I also can watch Cable more than a Hydra Unit = Fiber optics to your residence that connects to a personal computer (Hydra Unit) that takes the signal from the provider and sends it thru your existing cable lines. You get 3 remotes that are programmed on person channels 10, 29, 32. The remotes switch the channels but your television stays on the dedicated feed channel. The card found the channels and with my providers remote I can flip with ease pull open menus Television Guide and so on… I was not 100% confident it would function but it does. I have to use an A B Switch cheap small factor to switch from cable to antenna. I wish I could locate a splicer to combine them. Yeah two tuner card is the answer but I am on a price range : ) The remote seems touchy working from time to time and not others one particular weird point is I set up only win Tv (software provided… there is a patch for a newer version which I set up) Well I hit energy on the remote and it pulls open windows media center. If I hit Television it pulls open wintv. Not a dilemma but confusing.
