Small PCI-E cardNot PCI-basedIncredibly easy installationFunctions flawlessly as extended as you have a excellent signal This model does not have an FM radio receiverThe software program recording scheduler can be frustrating to use: The "start time," "minutes," and "end time," fields are all locked to each other in a weird way so when you adjust a value in one particular the other people are updated automatically - trying to get the precise occasions you wish, or the precise quantity of minutes to record can be an infuriating procedure!! I do not use the remote handle, so I can't speak for its usefulness. I just play the video files it creates from my PS3 downstairs wirelessly. Unfortunately, the PS3 doesn't seem to be in a position to read the files until the system is completed recording them and saving them to disk :(. Nevertheless, a little patience goes a extended way, and the video files do play excellent as soon as they are done - visual and audio fidelity is indistinguishable from the HD broadcasts getting received by the card.

Functions excellent with Windows 7 x64 and Windows Media Center.Remote manage. IR functions. Channel altering can be sluggish, producing it challenging to flip by means of channels. Comes with poor software program. (But WMC is all you need to have.) This card was a excellent addition to my gaming rig and I would recommend it in a heartbeat. My only reservation is that if you want to record two shows at once or watch something whilst you are recording a show, you will want dual tuners.

Great image, truly displays HDTV stations in 1080i, excellent way to make use of these tiny PCI Express slots. As a few reviewers have mentioned, the remote didn't work. I tried altering the batteries and nothing. Not certain if it's just not overly compatible with x64 Windows 7 or what, but it did absolutely nothing, hence the deducted egg. Other than the remote challenge, this is very best. I just ended up buying a better remote from newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16880101003 and now all is effectively. I extremely suggest this card with that remote if the included remote doesn't perform for you. :)

In all probability has potential... Have not been able to get card to function devoid of hanging OS. Operating WinVista-64 Pro and neither the WinTV nor MCE computer software will function beyond a handful of seconds for analog or digital tuning. Swapped card locations, loaded/unloaded software package, drivers. No error details are available mainly because it just hangs the system. Bought with rebuild elements like intel mobo DX58SO and processor i7-930 Bloomfield. Previously owned Happauge USB tuner that showed concerns when very first bought and lastly got to a fantastic software package package right after several months. I'm hoping the same happens here. Didn't return item mainly because of traveling and tinkering.

Installation went reasonably rapidly and works for the most part. Included computer software is a bit iffy and frequently will freeze without purpose of shut down. Tried to integrate into windows media, but had no luck even soon after all of the further downloads necessary to do so from their site. Recorded top quality is not the ideal, but I haven't had a likelihood to explore fully each feature. It operates.

Really good Tv tuner, better than I expected. I utilised a couple of diverse tuners over the years, this is my very first Hauppauge Television tuner and the very best one. Setup is simple, WinTV console and remote worked fine, no challenge at all. I run AMD and Vista, WMC also on the track more than my satellite Tv and on the air, I can choose amongst, that's a great issue. No so far It does all the jobs for the dollars you paid.

Performs for analogue, digital, and svid input. Remote operates in media center with upgraded software program. image is great high quality. Works good in Win 7 64. included software program is not so great, so had to update it from internet site. Directions are brief and not so clear. Can\'t as of but modify how considerably space recordings take up on HDD. Not as well substantially an concern on a 105TB HDD, but I'm utilised to becoming frugal on older, say 80 GIG HDD's Me like, but enjoy my old Win television 2000. It had great software program. However, my new computer system didn't come with a pci slot, just three pcie 1x's.

sound is louder than my other television tuner. Software is terrible, no potential to adjust color, sharpness, hue, etc. Does not work in Media Center, will show video and sound following channel scan, but media center complains about IR one thing or yet another. Doesn't operate with linux either, I spent about an hour following poe503's walkthrough on ubuntuforums, but that was a waste of time. I finally got color in WinTV 7, but then noticed that there is about a 1 second delay in between an action and the outcome (such as going to guide). Don't purchase this, I can't hardly believe that my old USB tuner responds faster than this PCIe tuner. Also this has a headphone jack for audio out, but no adapter for RCA audio connectors which pretty much every device uses. Even the producers internet site acknowledges that at its best this card only operates in ATSC in linux, and of course they supply no assistance in finding that to function in linux.

Very good picture, simple installation, Windows 7 x64 Pro recognizes it. Works with W7 Media Center. This is a "Win" card with poor, if any hardware processing. On an AMD Phenom II Black 965 processor running 1600GHz DDR3 RAM nVidea 9800GTX 512MB DDR3 video card, it consumes from 35% - 50% OF System RESOURCES, Causes intermittent blue screen with logging and reboot. Slow scanning for new stations, confusing UI. Make contact with with Hauppague has been unproductive. They have asked for me to execute particular tests that showed a achievable poor board and then stopped responding when I asked for an RMA, I have located that Win 7 MC is much more reliable for viewing Television from a cable (FIOS) decoder I gave this item 3 eggs only simply because it seems to function with Win 7 MC and a buyer is not getting complications with his employing Win XP, even though mine fails in a duplicate program, indicating a possible card. Given that any organization can have a poor product occasionally, I would up the rating to four eggs if I could get better service help.

I bought this to put in my Computer so I could dump the small Tv in my office. It works fantastic on my 24" monitor. Operates wonderful with the bundled computer software and with Media Center. Wish I had HD channels to try out the HD aspects of the card, but the analog signal looks as expected. Will have to get satellite Tv soon.

Tuner is working fantastic in mixture with Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250. No troubles with video or sound skipping whilst recording/watching three HD programs. When initially installed Windows Media Center crashed many occasions.. I corrected problem by setting up tuners in Media Center then after clicking finish I went to sleep. In the morning every thing was operating excellent. My Machine is Quad AMD, 6GB Mem, 256MB Asus PCI express video, running Windows 7 64x

Straightforward setup, software program is simple to use Will only function on the monitor you have set up as your "primary monitor" in Windows. If you try to drag it to a different monitor, and then try to change the channel, it stops responding and you have to use the process manager to close it. In order for it to generally come up on my second monitor I had to set that as my main monitor, which causes some complications for the other computer software on my Computer.

Software updates went effectively. In the year I've had it I went from four to 6, then to version 7. This card will not allow a resolution for SD Television that is watchable bigger than a 3X4 inch window. It is so fuzzy I can't even read the names of the towns for the duration of the neighborhood weather forecast. I not too long ago updated the WinTV to version 7 thinking that may well help but there is no adjust. I'm tossing this into the trash and performing better research this time for a high quality card. It's hard for me to believe it's attainable that any individual ever had a excellent encounter with this card unless you just want to listen to the music channels. My method: Pentium Core 2 Duo 3.16 Ghz 4 Gb RAMUsing Dish Network VIP 222K, connected to TV2 (analog only)

Clear pictures (on cable), smaller size, easy installation. Low cost. See Other Thoughts. This board apparently does all its decoding in Windows. On my AMD Phenom II 965 BlackƓ.4GHz)ǚGB 1600 DDR3/ 890GX chipset/ nVidia 9800GT system (Win7 CPU Rating 7.6, Video rating 7.4), it takes 35% of my processor usage and resources, slowing down the complete method. Computer software, despite the fact that straightforward to install, does not operate correctly with Windows XP x64 Pro (Blue Screen after about 5 minutes, consistently), and though stable on Windows 7 x64 Pro, it has sound breakup and Stereo good quality issues. The user software interface is clumsy and the window box does not lock to the screen ratio, locked or unlocked - a defect in my opinion. I was disappointed by how significantly processing power is needed by this board. In addition, it is incredibly slow to search for channels and slow to alter channels. I have not tried the remote control or video inputs. NTSC and QAM seem to work fine, but as said just before, there are sound top quality issues (using on-board ACྜྷ Dolby House Theater audio in Stereo mode only). Other programs will disrupt the video and audio and it doesn't like to go from dark to light scenes. I feel a different codec or plan would aid.

Work flawlessly with Windows 7 Media Center. Recoding is smooth and clear. Straightforward setup, popped the card in and installed the drivers and was prepared to roll. I skipped installing the integrated computer software with the tuner b/c i currently have the media center on my technique. It is a tiny sluggish switching in between channels, but i don't mind. When switching between non digital channels there is a static sound. Also the remote seems to have a slight lag. This is my 1st knowledge with a "DVR" (Windows Media 7Center) technique, and i have to say i am impressed. The IR remote requirements to be installed separately apparently, but it's straightforward. The installer is situated on the disc.

Would be nice if it worked I have an ASUS AMD II+ motherboard with an onboard ATI video operating Win Vista 32. When installed, no matter the BIOS Settings, the NVRAM hangs and the OS will not load. Boot selection is not even available. Might work with Non-Onboard Video or with PCI-16 Video.

Installed in 2 new systems: 1) operating 64-bit Windows 7-pro... Worked flawlessly with Media Center With out installing 'unneeded' WinTV v.7 software program- was in a position to get Each digital + analog cable channels. 2nd) running Windows Vista Biz 64-bit.... needed to install WinTV software program for it to function--- I DO NOT suggest installing this card With out Windows 7 operating (it works on Vista, XP BUT just performs Considerably much better on Windows 7) Runs Ideal under Media Center in Windows 7 !! This card is Excellent for the low price of about โ !!! It even allows you to 'hook-up' an additional external video source(DVD, Blu-ray, cable box, and so on.) It comes with a remote + works Excellent as a DVR for your wife/ household (i.e.- Totally free recorded films)
