Lets me watch tv and pause live tv, even in Media center. Nice remote, although not MCE certified, it does run it without issues on Win7. Hauppauge software functions flawlessly. None so far If you are buying this for satellite or cable and want FULL functionality in 7 and vista MC, this one won't do it for 1 reason alone, it doesn't have an "IR Blaster". If you want full MC functionality, you Should buy some type of "IR blaster" Remote setup. There's NO way around this. You can get 1 with certain television cards or buy them seperately.

Functions wonderful with Windows 7 HP 64bit and windows media center. ATSC is crisp...wow!!!! None...other than...Well the remote did not perform for me but I do not will need it as I use keyboard with touch pad and it is a lot much better It functions. I am utilizing ATSC. Haven't tried cable yet. ATSC broadcasts are crisp and wonderful! I have watched NBA games on ESPN/ABC HD and it is stunning. My pc can now record the shows and it has seriously made watching Tv a new and nice expertise specially simply because I can record the shows on my tough drive. My laptop or computer is now a full HTPC which is really good! Get this card

Excellent integration in Media Center and Windows 7 in common. Recording is straightforward and working with it is entertaining. Drivers out of the box do not function well, if at all, in Windows 7. Download the newest version ƒ.2) prior to installation. Do not use CD which comes with it!Can only record on a channel you watch. I like :)

I have the white box version of this card, which is the identical item, minus the remote, SFF shield, and retail box. My friend Tim has the retail version. Overall, the card worked really great. I have applied it for NTSC, QAM, and Digital, and the picture looks clear on HD channels. It worked flawlessly with Windows 7 Media Center. The Tv capabilities no longer mean a lot when the cheap coax cable connector breaks loose from the card. Now, I can no longer get any signal. Recently after reinstalling this card immediately after a motherboard upgrade, the connector broke loose and began twisting when finger tightening the cable line to the card. I removed the card from my method and the coax connector fell off when I removed the shield plate to examine what was wrong. Sadly to say, it was "riveted" to the square portion which was soldered to the card. I have an older WinTV PVR-250 and its cable connector is built a lot much better than this card. You'd think for the cost of this card, they wouldn't skimp out on the cable connector. I have tried several attempts to reattach the threaded coax connector back to the card, but not a lot luck so far. I've had this card since early 2009, so it's out of warranty contemplating it was the white box version. If I can't get this card fixed, then I could have to acquire a new 1. For anybody who has this card, be very gentle when connecting your cable line to it.

Inexpensive Tv tuner that functions under Windows No assistance for Analog tuner under Linux Windows7 detected the card as 1255 rather than 1250. Brought on a small confusion when picking card number for the driver under Linux. Use "card៨" if setting to use under Linux.

Fantastic Picture After performing some modifications to the settings in Windows Media Center, Remote functions perfectly from across the entire space After setting up the IR remote receiver a specific way, and extremely easy to install. the Tv software it comes with is total garbage, other than the IR drivers and some setup files it comes with, I advise installing the drivers and the utility, but then working with a various program to actually view, such as Windows Media Center, also the picture stutters about 1 each and every 10-15 minutes, for about a second or two, but nothing major. For the cost one would pay for this product, I would say that it is properly worth it, the IR receiver is quite finicky, but as soon as I taped it to my desk facing the IR receiver towards me, the remote works from across the entire space even with obstructions. It is a fantastic product if you have an older Tv in your room that is taking up space and would like to totally free up some. If you have cable Television, the Windows Media Center download show times and added channels that you can watch through the card, and actually makes a wonderful Television-DVR that is able to record, pause, rewind, fast-forward, and play LIVE Television.Overall I give it an fantastic rating Immediately after getting to try unique positions for it to work properly.

-Worked extremely well with Windows 7 media center -Included software is slow channel changing, low good quality, and extremely unstable for me. It also displayed a static bar at the leading of a lot of channels.-DID NOT Function WITH SAGETV!!! This is what I wanted it for!! I don't want to use Widnows 7 media Center since I have to record in .WTV format and so on and so on. SageTV just couldn't recognize my analog cable! It did tune to QAM channels though. -Uses software program rather of hardware encoding I ended up returning this and purchased the Hauppauge 2250, which works much superior with SageTV, except for QAM channels which I don't care about truly. Don't purchase this if you want to use SageTV. I believed that I saw it under their supported list, but it's not supported for analog. The 2250 works with SageTV, but QAM did not function correct off the bat. It nonetheless doesn't but I haven't attempted much more than 2 minutes, in contrast to the 4-5 hours I spent with this 1250 attempting to get analog to perform. But, this works great and tunes to all QAM and Analog channels in Windows 7!

Excellent efficiency for the price, decent remote, gets available nearby HD channels (plus assorted non-HD digital variations). Installed with ZERO headaches, and works magnificently with Win7/WMC! The remote even has buttons to skip ahead/skip back 30 seconds, pretty much literally no commercials!! Goodbye Hulu!! I knew it didn't have an FM tuner, not a con for me. I had to copy the channel info from common SD channels to the digital/HD counterparts, but this was very easy, just time-consuming. I won't take an egg off for this. On occasion, the remote can be a bit finicky, but simply restarting the IR solves this, and only takes a moment. Once more, I will not take an egg off for this. I've waited a long time for a tuner that would just record the shows and be simple to view them. This thing is divine simplicity, and I couldn't be happier. I installed the tuner, hooked up the cable and IR reciever, and have been a Really content camper. Win7 installed the most up-to-date driver without incident. Most reviewers for this card utilised only WMC, and it's sweet! You can view the guide, and have it record an individual show, or the whole factor as a series. When I create a dedicated HTPC for the living room, I will not hesistate to obtain a Hauppauge tuner that contains the IR blaster so my STB can be hooked up! Props to the 'Egg for receiving this to me in a timely fashion, I just hope the rebate gets here as effectively.

Good bang for the buck. Extremely very good linux and windows assistance for card. The tuner appears to be very great. It picks up additional digital stations than the card that came in my HP HTPC.Capture card/tuner function excellent with each windows and linux/myth supplied you use a mouse for navigation and control. The remote (or the IR reciever actually) is not compatible with linux unless you want to tear it apart and rig it up via an old 9 pin serial plug. In Windows 7 the remote is not PnP, a custom configuration file has to be downloaded and placed in the windows directory to make it translate to MCE kind communication. As well as the card works at this price I'm far more than happy to invest a few minutes added to make the remote work in Win7. In fact I'm purchasing a second.

Does what it is supposed to do, and works great with Win 7 64 bit. Windows Media center is very best way to use this card for me. Quality is alright. I am running a Core two Duo 3G, 4 gig od OZ gold ram 800, and a galaxy video 9500 GT I definitely didn't like the plan applications and i could by no means get the remote to work. With that stated, I actually don't care about those two thing, but I would have rather not paid fo them if they wouldn't work flawlessly. gave up trying right after second up load so maybe you all will have greater results.

Installed simply and recognized by Windows 7 64. Downloaded last drivers from manufacturer and was watching Television in minutes! Mostly bought to watch on air Television on laptop or computer in a different component of the residence. Also have been able to record from old VHS videos we have laying around. The software located 90% of the off air channels I can get, only 1 station it could not choose up, but that is no large deal. Switched the tuner more than to S-video input and was able to record all those old tapes. An Added bonus! Overall, pretty pleased with the card. None that really stand out

Straightforward SW install. I live in a fringe area, and this card picks up a lot of stations. It records shows just fine with no troubles. If youre going to run this card you want to have some horse power in your CPU to run this thing. I have a 2.2Ghz AMD 3500+ (yes it's very old), and the card eats 50%-70% of my CPU cycles. This slows every thing down a bit. If I record a show, I can't do substantially of anything else. The literature says that the minimum CPU clock speed should be 2.2Ghz, and that's what I have, but I think for a excellent performence, you will need to have at least two.8Ghz, and running a multi-core would help significantly. This is why I gave four eggs. One thing that you must do when you start off the Television up, is hit Ctrl, Alt, Del go to the processes and select WinTV. Then set the priority to the highest "Real Time" setting. This will prevent any choppyness and studdering. This won't be a issue if you run with a quicker CPU.

Running on 64-bit Windows 7 with Windows Media Center. The PC mostly functions as anentertainment center.I went with this card mainly because of my lower spending budget.-It was extremely uncomplicated to install both the hardware and drivers-Didn't have to use their remote or software program, ran with Windows Media Ceneter correct away-Records programs fantastic, does what it is supposed to do-Only had it for a month, but it appears reliable None so far. This is my initial Television tuner, and I am quite pleased. Mainly because it is a easy and inexpensive card it does not have some of the capabilities that a lot more advanced users may well desire, such as recording two programs at when or recording 1 program although you watch an additional. Because of this I may upgrade in the course of the subsequent couple of years, but I am very happy with what I got.

Hardware installation took about five minutes. Software installation took about 10 minutes. I ran the WinTV software that comes included and it worked! Awesome. I got this puppy so I could watch Tv on my projector which is also connected to my PC. Recording is so uncomplicated and resolution and excellent is remarkable. You can even pause your show halfway, get a drink, and come back. What amazes me is that it was so simple to connect and that it worked straight out of the box. Rare these days. Really impressed! This is my very first Tv Tuner and I couldn't be happier. Five eggs! None that I can see so far! The price and no cost shipping made me a happy camper.

Incredibly superior excellent video and audio. Remote works with separate driver installed. Bracket had to be bent to assure good seating. Do not press remote connector in back with energy on or some harm may possibly happen to motherboard. Generally appears to write to drive, even live. For digital signal the non-QAM recording (possible) needs hardware encoding from processor for decent encoding. The Colussus or other would be far better even with wait for WMC (or is it WMC-blaster remote?). Cable trying to block WMC. Some stations or shows won't record or my connections need to be redone.

Good picture, grood price, WinTV is great at detecting QAM channels, remote works nearly perfectly with MCE. A bit slow switching channels (similar to cable or satellite box), WinTV hangs. I discovered WinTV to be unusable since channels would usually hang for 5-30 seconds. The excellent factor is it's good at detecting QAM channels whilst MCE is horrible at it. This allowed me to go into WinTV and come across the actual channels my cable organization was making use of and manually enter them into MCE (Physical channel dot Service ID, be sure to attempt both QAM64 and QAM256).The remote functions very properly with MCE. But Prev Ch really toggles full-screen. To get the prior channel hit Enter. There doesn't seem to be any way to enter a dot with it tho, so I just removed all the dots from the channels.I should take off 1 egg for the WinTV hanging problem but extremely couple of people will want to use it over MCE (which is fantastic). Men and women with older, 32 bit OS computers with out MCE may possibly discover WinTV works fine.Athlon II X2 215 2.70GHz, 4GB, Win7 64. Utilizes about 15% of resources, runs smooth. 70 analogue channels, 10 QAM. Haven't tried OTA.

Setup was incredibly straightforward. Worked immediately in windows media center, remote and tuner. Picture good quality is excellent. Is a wonderful compliment to my Windows 7 household theater PC. Utilizing the remote in other applications (besides windows media center) essentially calls for you to edit a text file which wasn't even that simple to come across, had to google and dig via a few forums to figure out how to get the remote to do what I wanted outside of windows media center. Even though after I figured it out, every little thing has been good. Awesome product, the only thing i'd change is having some sort of graphical way to edit the remote functions, as editing the text file is not the most self-explanatory thing in the world. Get a decent sized dedicated media drive if you plan on recording HD video.

Bought this to go into my HTPC to take advantage of digital broadcasting due to the fact I recently canceled cable television. Extremely pleased with the tuning good quality and remote integration with Windows Media Center. Been recording all of the youngsters shows for my daughter and couldn't be happier! At 1st the remote seems a small low cost but following employing it for a whilst it holds up nicely and has a decent range. Could not get card working in Vista House Premium 32. Had picture but no sound via MCE. WinTV worked ok but it's such a clunky piece of software that I ended up installing Win 7 Pro 64 and everything fell right into place. MCE works wonderfully! Have considering that put Win 7 on a couple much more machines in the residence and with Homegroup can watch recorded programs from the HTPC. Had thought of going with the dual tuner but figured I'd just use the tuner on the Television to watch alternate stations whilst the card is recording. Paid for itself in the 1st month as I am saving about 軸/yr not getting cable television. Something I miss with cable I just download or stream via on-line content providers.

Single coaxial connection lets you record digital or analog.Digital HD QAM recordings appear great!Analog recording excellent consistent with other cards.Extremely extremely effortless to setup with Windows 7 (WMC).Full height or low-profile bracket included (comes with full height installed). Can't record from digital and analog sources at the similar time. I'm going to dock an egg for that.I haven't looked at the included software program as of late due to the fact I liked GBPVR so a lot (now working with Windows 7 WMC) but I ought to warn potential buyers about it. It applied to be kind of low-finish, so read reviews if you program on employing the Hauppauge software program to make sure it will do what you want. I recommend making use of Myth, GBPVR, WMC, etc. Haven't tried over-the-air or other inputs. And I'm working with the IR from my case now so I can't speak to the remote, but it looks the exact same as older cards and I liked it for those.Decent card for the funds. You save funds due to the fact it's not a dual hybrid (two analog, two digital tuners). But I would have liked to be able to do 1 analog & 1 digital at when.

Works with my cable box (Cox cable) picks up all channels even HD ones although HD channels are converted to SD but picture good quality is still very great. works with windows 7 media center genuinely great even has program listing. remote included does not function. I bought this remote also at newegg AVS Gear GP-IR02BK Vista 2 channel IR Remote Control62575111 (N82E16880121002). It changes the cable box channels in media center by means of USBUIRT sort connection very convenient. Don't use the include CD software/driver instead go to the manufacturer's web site and click the faq's tab then download the MCE kit if you want to use it with media center or download their software WIN7 or some thing like that if you to use that rather. Fantastic luck I hope this posting helps somebody.
