none seriously, the cpu worked on boot up. high cost, low multiplier, poor overclocker unless you have a really high end board. temperature at stock is way also high even with aftermarket heatsink. runs 45c idle with A.S. 5 and burn in time. lack of cache tends to make this cpu really feel substantially slower than a comparable clocked q6600 or core i7. will not even do 3.3ghz with greater voltage. freezes on any stress test. absolute dog cpu. i definitely would NOT acquire this cpu once more. infact, i would not buy any of the cpus similar to this. the q6600 is a far superior cpu. the q9550 is a excellent cpu as properly(shame on you newegg for not lowering the value on such an old cpu)

These are some genuinely fantastic CPUs. I have applied both the core2quad and i7. The quad is a real workhorse and not almost as pricey as the i7. None recognized. Purchase it...you won't be sorry.

like others have said the multiplier isnt the greatest but still pulled out 3.2ghz on air no problems program to go to three.five when i really feel like it :p got it for m girlfriends pc XD prety darn fast got practically as high of a windows score as my i5-750ʃ.6

VT, does have hyperthreading one thread for each and every core. 7.4 WEI. Stock Fan is useless for what I intend to do with this CPU. Multiplier locked at 7.five which will limit your overclock to about 3. GHz. A MOBO capable of 1600 Mhz FSB is necessary to get this to three. GHz, 7.5 x 400. I am working with DDR two 1066 with 4-4-four-12 timings at 800 MHz, voltages set on Auto. WEI 7.four-7.four-7.6-7.6-5.9 with a GTX 460 overclocked 20% with MSI Afterburner and an Asus MOBO. Waiting for inexpensive SSD's.

More quickly for the price tag. I overclocked mine to three.0GHZ water cooled but processor seems a tiny unstable at 3.1Ghz but nevertheless does not run hot on water cooling. Low Multiplier I could only get 7X It's worth the cost.

Definite greatest bang for the buck! I haven't even felt the will need to overclock this guy, and it will be the last thing I upgrade in this budget computer build. Fan runs cool none. 4 cores operating @ two.five GHz stock can take on most of the most current high-demand applications. Outstanding GHz/$ ratio provides the very best bang per dollar spent on an aging LGA 775 socket. I haven't got the opportunity to test it for myself but but this chip is said to have really great overclocking capability. 1. My chip was badly defective out of the box. Maddeningly horrible heatsink. My preceding CPU, an Intel Core2 Duo, had come with a Significantly Greater stock heatsink and fan back in 2008! Plus I don't want my low cost heatsink to come with an even less costly thermal paste currently applied! If I'm ordering a retail CPU, probabilities are I currently have my personal quality thermal paste that I'd wanna use for a Quad upgrade. As a loyal customer of Intel processors, it disappoints me to see such a respected corporation going down in excellent every single year rather than up! I envy all the happy users here who got excellent, working Q8300s. It's surely a very good 4-core deal thinking about the amount of kick you get out of a 贶. Excellent CPU for any need.installed in ASUS P5G41-M - performs good out of box Heatsink and fan unit utilizes plastic pin mounts. Do oneself a favor and upgrade to a heatsink that utilizes screws to mount.

Great speed. I started playing Starcraft two on a core2duo 1.86ghz and decided to revamp my comp and ended up rebuliding it completely. It is more rapidly in virtually everything; from loading programs to gaming. I dont do considerably besides play a few games and net surfing so i cant attest to the limits of the processor. From what i have observed it doesnt even use all 4 cores most of the time, and even then its not even working with 50% of the two-three cores it is using. This thing is effectively rounded and its intel, so anything in it is made in-property. Thank you intel none

Runs rapid. It might not be the fastest processor on the industry, but for the price, I like how the four person cores enable me to either run up to 4 separate apps without having slowing me down, or pack all of that energy into one highly CPU intensive application (simulation) to get the job accomplished more rapidly. Windows 7 handles all of this perfectly. The motherboard/heatsink mouting style is the worst I've ever encountered...took me numerous tries to get it mounted, and I've mounted a number of CPUs more than the years.

The Q8300 is a great alternative!- Fast- Fairly cool 29 degrees celcius and 39 when gaming ࿎ highest) stock heatsink that came with it was strange to set up. I wouldn't stick in so i had to keep with my old heatsink. The heatsink provided had plastic rather of screws. I couldn't get it to stick into my board.
