Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 2.5GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: does not like to over clock. multiplier of 7.5haven't been able to get it stable at 2.8 GHz, but haven't but much time into it anyways.

Pros: I have had this chip since christmas and it runs good. Does all my multi taesking and CAD with no lag
Comment:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 2.5GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: none so far.

Pros: fast, multi-tasker that is economical.

i bought this for my first build. i spent weeks trying to decide which QXXXX to buy. this one got the nod since it's moderately priced and still has good potential. my mobo will only take it up to 2.85GHz on stock voltage but that's plenty for it's uses. P5Q PL-AM, 4GB DDR2 GSkill n 1160, EAH5670, WEI 7.0. not bad!!!

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 2.5GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons: -None Yet

Pros: -Fast-Price
Comment:
I put this CPU in my PC to update  my aging gen 1 Core 2 Duo processor. I didn't think it would make a huge difference, I was wrong. The fact that I doubled my cores, went from a 1066 fsb to 1333 and also gained more clock speed made a huge difference in my PC. Any kind of video editing I do now is much quicker. Rendering a video was a long process that also slowed my machine down. Now it's done quicker and I have power to spare. With Handbrake I used to top out at around 20 fps, now I easily get around 60 fps. While there are better LGA775 CPUs out there, this one will tide me over for a while until I make the jump to an i5 or i7 based PC.

great cpu, skip the cooler.
Comment:
Got this for my first build. Installed to asus p5n-d no problem, however the stock cooler was very finnicky to install on that board. got rid of it after a day and installed a OCZ Vendetta. skip on this and just get the CPU and a different cooler.

Great Value and Performance
Comment:
I just built a family computer using the Q8300 and it works great. The only drawback as another reviewer pointed out is the mounting system for the CPU cooling fan is terrible. I struggled with it for two hours before cutting off the silly push-n-twist assemblies. I bought four nylon No. 6 bolts 32 thread x 1 inch, which made assembly easy.

Good affordable processor
Comment:
Great performance for the price. Its no i7 but if you want quad core performance that won't break the bank, the core 2 quad is a good choice.

High performance on a budget
Comment:
I don't think you can beat the value of this processor considering how well it performs. Don't be put off by the fact that it's only 2.5Ghz because you can overclock this CPU (with proper cooling) to 3.4Ghz which is almost overkill. Great CPU for the money.

I love this CPU and would recommend it. I have mine currently running at 3.0ghz stable, but it was kinda tricky.

Extremely good CPU. only negative is the fan. Very odd way of installing the fan. It feels like you can very easily break the plastic screws that bolt to motherboard. Be carfull !!!

Good CPU
Comment:
Nice fast CPU if you want to run it stock and even better when clocked. I put this in a XFX 750i SLI running windows 7 and have had no problems, clocked or at stock. Great buy if you can't afford the i-series CPU's.

Amazing
Comment:
This CPU is amazing, however before you purchase, make sure that your motherboard can not only support Quad Core, but it can also support York field Architecture. The nForce 6 series will not use this cpu, so I went with the 780i, which will allow you to over clock it. My CPU is running at 3.0Ghz without any heat performance issues.

Best bang for the bucks and low power consumption
Comment:
Chose this CPU for its low power consumption and performance for the price. Not dissapointed. However, the fan does a really annoying sound and switching for an Artic Cooling fan for sure.
