Effortless to set up, Beyond Television four saw and configured them, anything operate excellent for about a year. I bought 4 of these in Nov ཅ, there are two that are nevertheless working. 50% failure in 1 year appears a bit high. I guess I will attempt somebody else.

Price and the very good reviews. "Version two" Doesn't perform with Windows 7. I was skeptical at first becasuse of the negative testimonials. The value was tempting and following reading the great critiques from the individuals who had tech know-how and it worked great for them I thought I'd give it a shot. I received the V2 model which wasn't reviewed at the time I bought it.Installed Drivers encouraged here. Windows 7 64 bit would not recognize the device and the driver installation failed. RMA'd for exchange but was issued a credit, "apparently" it was out of stock and I'm out ů.00 for the return shipping. So save your self some frustration, time and and dollars. **** DON'T Buy IT.**** Have often received super quickly shipping, excellent service and great luck with purchases from New Egg.

Inexpensive, most recent drivers offered through download and operates wonderful with Windows Media Center. I didn't use the bundled software program. Just installed the unit, installed the downloaded drivers from the Kworld site and then used Windows Media Center. Operates perfectly receiving each QAM stations and ATSC more than the air stations. I can't speak for the bundled software program.Configuration: AMD Phenom II x3 720, ATI 4200 embedded video, Samsung 750 gb SATA, 4gb ram, Windows 7 Professional. None. Excellent Worth.

None Doesn't operate at all. I've attempted it with the supplied software package and Windows Media Centre. I've tried the supplied drivers as properly as the drivers offered on the web.No matter what I try, it does not locate any channels. Complete waste of dollars and time. Really should've opened it earlier mainly because RMA is out of query now.

WIndows 7 drivers lastly offered. Purchased it 6 months ago, Windows 7 drivers only obtainable last month. Been a brick up till the drivers accessible but operates really well now!I can move from machine to machine as necessary instead of my old internal card that didn't migrate to 7. The Total Media computer software that ships with it is limiting and a bit unstable, the UB-435 doesn't operate properly with Windows Media center as Media center only picks up a handful of channels. Overall operates well, as soon as I installed Windows 7 drivers. Wish it worked superior with Media center, but it doesn't. Media center is vastly superior to TotalMedia.

I got this to use as a way to record a third Tv show since my DVR can only record two shows at a time. Finest plans don't always perform out. I was unable to get it to function with my Time Warner service. I was in a position to pick up a few broadcast stations but they were fuzzy. I tried going the window’s route as recommended but that didn’t perform. When that didn’t work I tried the computer software offered. The results had been the similar. And yes I looked and got the most recent driver on the internet. I am operating Window 7 64 bit. With so quite a few folks not being to get it to operate this item pretty weak. It took about 45 minutes for it to perform the channel scan and then identified 9 stations. You get what you spend for. I due to the fact switched to ATT and now I can record up to 4 shows at when. My difficulty solved

Device operates properly with WatchHDTV. As a single of the preceding reviewers talked about, it takes a little bit of work to set up adequately, but I have had no concerns with the device due to the fact utilizing that system for recording. Neither the included software nor the obtainable software program on KWorld's site functioned correctly. TotalMedia and TiVMe would function only intermittently. From time to time, they would fail to activate the tuner. From time to time they would freeze. Also, WatchHDTV would freeze (less typically than the other two) if I included any of the subchannels in my lineup. I also tried the USB tuner with my wife's Vista laptop, and it seemed to function flawlessly with Media Center. I was up and operating in a fraction of the time it took me to set up any of my a number of scenarios on XP. Did not test included software program on Vista. I'm utilizing an amplified Terk indoor antenna as it delivers a considerably greater signal than the included antenna.Be ready to use a third-party software solution, and the item is a very good acquire. If you're expecting every little thing you require in this box or on the firm's web page, you will be disappointed. No comment on QAM as I am unable to test that.

Functions as advertised on my Windows 7 64bit system, but I only applied it enough to verify the hardware worked and the cable connection was functioning. If you are searching for an affordable Television tuner for your process, you can't go incorrect with this unit at this price. Mine is an updated "Version 2" model that is NOT presently (Nov 13 2010) compatible with the Linux drivers, and the manufacturer doesn't have Linux drivers or public documentation. I am developing a house DVR system, and did my research on this just before purchasing. The week just before I purchased, I identified numerous posts that this model ("UB435-Q") was working with the newly updated driver. On that very good note I jumped on this acquire and received it about a week later. In the meantime, I kept an eye on those discussions and located that other people were buying the "UB435-Q" but getting issues with the driver not seeing it.When I received mine, it too wouldn't work even on a fresh install method following the directions that other people had posted. It turns out that, even though the model number was nonetheless the similar, the internal components had been absolutely unique!Immediately after talking with other users and the driver writer, it turns out the new chips are too distinct and it will be a while ahead of he is in a position to reverse engineer the driver for Linux.Too bad, it looked like a wonderful way to make a multi-tuner DVR very inexpensively.

Cost - assuming the issue actually worked.I would give it , except for the reality Newegg.com promptly resolved my problem soon after I complained (the item is on its way back to newegg). The new 'V2' tuners they are shipping basically don't operate. I have 9 other tuners without having any problems (none are KWorld).Has a 'Windows 7 compatible' sticker and a WHQL 'certified' driver, but offered it is not functional with Media Center and ClearQAM - it can't have either logo.It detects the tuner, but it only finds 2 channels. When you try to view the channels, MCE says it can't locate a signal. My Volar Max tuner finds 25+ channels with no any problems. You would consider KWorld would have a driver update and so on by now to fix the concern. The critiques on newegg of complaints of this have been going on for 6 months+.I contacted the business and they stated that 'a small number of their merchandise don't operate'. Given the number of poor reviews, it seems like additional than a 'small number' are getting problems.Remain away and go with one more product.

Hooked it up to my cable (wich is turned off) and I get 32 stations. I installed the drivers only and let WMC do the rest. Excellent image. Haven't tried an antenna connection. Took awhile to tune in the stations but I'm just sitting right here anyways. Just minimize it and surf NEWEGG whilst your waiting. I'm running win7 64 bit. No cons at this point. It says win7 compatible on the box but not in the particulars on here if that assists anyone. Was nervous about purchase but glad I didn't devote far more as this thing operates excellent for me. May get a different a single for the laptop. Pleased newegging.

Inexpensive. Functions alright most of the time. Unreliable. I purchased this thinking it'd be a low cost and uncomplicated way to add an additional digital tuner to my program. It functions fine in Windows Media Centre pulling in ClearQAM stations... most of the time. I use Media Centre as a DVR and leaving this plugged in and scheduled to record with is just unreliable. I'm glad it's not my only digital tuner as really frequently it just fails to commence tuning. Unplugging it and plugging it back in gets it working again perfectly, sadly there's a purpose I've got it SCHEDULED to record a thing instead of me becoming there to manually tell it to record and verify it's operating. It also typically fails when running a channel scan.If you acquire this with plans of only ever truly employing it to watch live Tv and currently know what stations are offered to you (thus bypassing the will need for a channel scan) it functions alright but surely has some quirks. For more permanent use in a DVR setting it's just not a excellent option.

USB, so it wont take up a precious slot. Integrates seamlessly with Win7 MC. Uncomplicated to get set up and rolling. Comes with decent software program if you are not making use of MCE. The antenna it comes with is a joke. Perhaps if you live in an very urban location it would suffice, otherwise program on investing in an antenna. It does take a small far more CPU than I thought it would, but in an HTPC setup, if you're watching Television, then it's not like you're undertaking some thing else in the background, so not a biggie. I am extremely satisfied with this item. Right after obtaining no channels with the packaged antenna, I hooked up a set of nice rabbit ears with gain. I now get all but the PBS stations, and I can get those if I reposition. I am going to attempt a splitter with two antennas pointed in distinct directions to see if I can capture all of them. If not, will prolly invest in http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882790012, or some thing of the like. Just know ahead of time that you will much more than most likely need to have a unique antenna with this.Running it on a Dell Optiplex GX520 I picked up at an auction. Dual Core, 2GB of RAM. Win7 Ultimate 64. Intel 945 onboard video. Runs excellent.

It supports up to 1920x1080 so HD channels more than the air look remarkable on my flat screen. It comes with Tivo like software for recording, pausing live television. I am installing this on XP and have had problems constantly, with all sort of things, hardware and software program. The CD with the drivers and software was a low quality burn and a single of the setup programs could not run. Following installing the most recent software program from on-line, I had to run the autoscan quite a few occasions until I was lucky enough for it to finish devoid of crashing. All the programs often crash with no error. The USB tuner stick frequently locks up and only gives out a black picture, have to unplug and replug it in.The software will cease responding and if you reopen it absolutely nothing takes place although it acts normal. Have to restart the personal computer before it works once again. The only reason I didn't send this back is due to the fact from other evaluations it appears it works greater on Windows 7. I discourage you from obtaining this if you intend to use with XP. Maybe it will operate, perhaps you will be restarting just about every 6 minutes.

Affordable Seems to work properly with Win7 MCE, provided you use the appropriate drivers The second of my two V2 models arrived today and I was dismayed to uncover that CBS wouldn't tune properly OTA on the newer 1, even though each had been becoming fed by the similar antenna. Then I checked and realized I was working with the V1 driver on the machine that tuned it perfectly, so for that of you getting difficulty getting OTA to operate, you might try the V1 driver from the website.

From the very beginning I had to regularly resetup the tuner in Windows Media Center creating it an awful user encounter. Then lately it stopped being recognized all together. Bought it on sale, so wasn't priced too badly. The actual electronics seem to function pretty nicely. The tiny antenna was in a position to pick up most of the "over-the-air" channels that I obtain on my Tv (within the 15-mile radius). The user's manual had a folder on the CD but somehow didn't make it onto the CD itself. The channel detection scanning method is unbelievably slow (easily 15 minutes or much more). The ArcSoft computer software (TotalMedia) is fairly basic and again, no user's guide. No audio adjustment achievable for channel with low volume, so not excellent for PCs that have weak, on-board audio only (like SoundMAX). No remote provided so the included "Remote Control" application is useless, unless you happen to have another video product that includes 1 of the four kinds of "remotes" the computer software supports, like the one that might have come with your cam-corder. Frankly, if you get this at the sale price it works pretty properly despite the lack of sophistication provided by ArcSoft's much less than stellar software program goods. Even though the TotalMedia computer software does not automobile-arrange the detected channels in numerical order as one would anticipate, the "Edit Channels" function under the Tv Setup gives you the ability to move every channel up and down the list to whatever organization you prefer. You can also rename the channels and actually delete unwanted ones from the list.
