I've worked with this thing for weeks along with Tech Support sending me new drivers that are not on their site and yet I cannot discover any QAM signals via Time Warner Cable. Cost. Zero-Hassle installation into WinXP SageTV method. Sage supports it just fine. If my high-end Hauppauge stick says 98% signal strength, this 1 may well say 95%. Nice to have a little blue light saying its on/plugged into the USB port correctly.Plays nice with my Hauppauge tuners, HD-PVR, and older K-Globe PCI ATSC card. My narrow use as far as this evaluation is concerned. No clue if it would perform well under Win7 or Vista. No clue on Media Center. No clue about software program other than the driver, which is fine under 32-bit XP.That's a con as a reviewer, not against the product. Just ordered a second 1., and as I said, my use is narrow - just SageTV. I am also using a rooftop antenna and am close ࿒ miles) to the market it is tapping into. But the initial 1 worked fantastic, so I am going to add a second 1.For what it does, the cost/performance ratio can't be beat in my application.

Effectively, the value was right.Install wasn't very tough, but wasn't with out a hitch. Utilizing Win7 64 bit and Media Center, couldn't get it to detect any channels after installing drivers. Rebooted and points worked. So even though the driver installer doesn't say you want to reboot, do it anyway (and it's constantly a good idea to reboot right after installing a thing new anyway). Picture seems actually nice really, the product is better than expected... Right after reading the reviews here I was skeptical, but for 23 bucks, come on! Of course I took the likelihood, much more affordable than the 100 I was gonna fork more than for a Haupage card. Software is possibly awful, but I'll never know since I didn't install it. Stupid RED LED on the USB stick is ugly. Antenna has a magnet for mounting, fairly cool but in all probability not really cool for those who don't understand it accidently set it down beside their hard drive. I use this for local broadcast HDTV. It works good for the sub-channels which are not in HD. I does not maintain up with the HDTV signal. The picture and sound are out of sync. The processor load is in between 40 and 50% when receiving HD. It continually writes to the tough drive (TIVO mode?). The included antenna is garbage. I'm using a Pentium 4 3. GHz laptop or computer, Windows 7 Media Center, and the most current KWorld drivers. I feel this may work greater with the newer dual and quad core computers.

Inexpensive price. As soon as you get it working, under Windows Media Center, it seems to function nicely. When you obtain this, you'll be a beta tester. Most likely not plug and play for most users, depending on your configuration. Rather time-consuming and arduous to get working. If you're running Windows 7, you have to download the latest driver. Supplied applications software wouldn't perform for me--use Windows Media Center rather. Do not install the ArcSoft and Kworld software program. Use Windows Media Center, instead. I installed the the Television stick on a low-finish emachines/Acer laptop with simple Intel graphics and runing Windows 7 and, and it works OK.

Not much other than IF you can get it to function it can get QAM. All hardware needs functional software, the KWORLD sw is WAY TO BUGGY. They give you a complete bunch of applications and don't tell you which ones will work for your wants. None of "their"apps support QAM (and it ain't apparent). They also tend to crash.The ArcSoft Total Media app works for QAM but crashes whenever you attempt and scan for channels. I tried Windows Media Center and that normally doesn't recognize any stations. I managed to ultimately get it to see some of the offered QAM stations. I employed the newest drivers/software readily available.Forget about rapid tech support. I submitted a request and nonetheless havent heard back. I wasted a day + on it.. it sort of perform's, but i DEFINATELY WOULD NOT Recommend. I'm sending it back. Already ordered a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-950Q (actually a Nero Liquid Television 'cause it's more affordable ~ ุ).

Cheap Doesn't work First and foremost Newegg ROCKS!!Purchased this for QAM. Soon after hours of attempting drivers that failed, replacing .set files per the kworld FAQ, I finally did get their software to detect some channels. But their software locks up following a couple of channel changes every time. I planned to use with WMC and despite the fact that I finally did get WMC to see the thing (that was a feat in itself) it in no way would tune any channels.My assistance is if you want QAM remain away.

Excellent reception. Fantastic cost. Included software program is terrible. Didn't get all channels. Use "Windows media center" that comes with Windows 7, or the open source software "Media Portal" and "GB-PVR" that work on Windows or "MythTv" for Linux/Macinths. Google these and you'll locate them

Surprisingly, this item didn't burst into flames. Want to wipe your disk and re-install Windows? Get 1 of these. You're a lot more likely to see television by pouring maple syrup on your keyboard and hot coffee on your houseplants.

Excellent price. Works terrific in Win 7 Windows Media Center employing outdoor antenna. Good for recording OTA television programs. Good HD high quality video. No issues with tuner. Included magnetic base antenna does not pick up a great signal in my location. OTA HD video looks wonderful on my Acer 24" monitor, also from Newegg. I did not use the included software program given that WMC works so well.

My guidance is if you just want to record more than the air broadcast get this. The main dilemma is that they dont even allow NTSC on channel three which is practically a universal channel necessary to do anything. every single television (cable/satellite provider) service technician and support individual i had spoken to to attempt and get it to work with just stated that they do not support astc coxax output I bought this figuring that I could use it with cable/ sattelight and have it replace my tv. if you want it to work with cable or satellite get a tuner with ntsc also or get an ntsc tuner and a converter box.

Works quite nicely with A Very good OUTDOOR ANTENNA, even though I live in a semi-mountainous region about 15ㅌ miles from the nearest transmitter. Outstanding OTA HD good quality. Works flawlessly on my Gateway laptop w/Win7 House Premium X64. Included telescoping "pointer" type antenna has a magnetic base: can't wait to attempt it in a actual metro area, on top of my auto as a ground plane. Included antenna barely pulls in stations in rural locations inside the residence; haven't had a likelihood to test in metro location but. Just program on hooking this to a great antenna. Would purchase once more for comparable application. Very mobile Television solution!

Newegg service was wonderful but I don't like to have to return things. This 1, if I hold it just proper gives me Tv, if I can't get it to work 30% of the time, I do something else; no possibilities, I have to hold it and sqweeze the antenna contacts. Unacceptable design of solderred contacts to "Antenna input". The terminals were never properly solderred and can\'t be repaired (without melting the chips off the board) when employing a heat sink and a 20 watt clean iron. Must have a premanent lead rather of an easilly breakable hard solderred antenna terminal. Mine was no excellent from the start off. This one appears to have had somebody attempt a repair as a label inside shows burns perfect next to the safest place for attempting a repair! Throw away the computer software, Win7 works... I have had this considering that 8ቨቦ, only two and 1ǘ monthes. I should have recognized it was poor just before I hooked it up(the usb and the antenna connections had been not straight enough to let the case close. I was even missing the component of outer case that must hold it together as in the picture). Don't let the ratings fool you this is junk like several of the other people and mine was utilised...

Uncomplicated to set up Scanning for ATSC signals requires tennacity It took five scans, but right after moving the enclosed antenna a couple of feet, I was able to scan successfully all 15 channels offered in the St. Louis Metropolitan area. I got this for ษ so I didn't expect an amazing item. I suggest getting the most recent drivers from the web page beforehand. The product installed in my Win 7 x64 program. But I had to scan a number of times before it could get a signal. I would most likely buy a superior antenna mainly because I can't get local channel 7 and 11 in Windows Media Center. If the weather is very windy the channel is choppy. Overall, I get about a dozen nearby channels. I will purchase an antenna and see if I can get a lot more local channels.

Had this for nearly a year now. Very surprised with the it to be honest. Terrific cost (this issues generally on sale for 25 bucks). Tiny! I was debating a tuner card before obtaining this but for the price and the ease of use (usb rather of card) it was too difficult to say no. HD High quality is excellent for what I was expecting. Streams truly properly. I got to watch the super bowl in HD No remote. Gets a small bit skippy on some channels but only on occasion and only with a couple channels so its most most likely just an antenna reception concern. Still no need to have to get a various antenna though, reception is very good otherwise. I use it exclusively in Windows Media Player. Scheduling DVR with windows media player works effectively.Employing 1080p 23" viewsonic

Good price. Have three hooked up to WMC7. All tuners pick up the offered Clear QAM channels. HD Video top quality is slightly less than the Comcast DVR. In WMC7, the tuners did not choose up all readily available channels throughout setup - had to manually add most channels but all of them do work as soon as added... Could be a function of WMC7 as nicely. Changing the channel many times within a couple seconds causes an error and the pc have to be restarted to fix. Great product for the cost! These tuners have exceeded my expectations! While there are some problems, they do not show up extremely generally (if at all) in day to day operation.Method config: Core2 Duo E7500 Wolfdale two.93GHz, 6GB RAM, Windows 7 Home Premium, Radeon HD 4350 512MB
