Comes with an extention cord, if needed. No issues reading the kinds of cards supported. Front of device slides back for protection when traveling. None. Having the front of the reader slide back for protection is a fantastic function.

Excellent when it worked. I used it when a month to offload pics from my camera's SDHC flash card. Died after 8 months. Now it has no lights and is no longer recognized by any Pc in the home (tried three Windows 7 PCs). It's cheap sufficient that I may well try it a single additional time...

Operates flawlessly with my XP Pro SP3. Found driver and up-n-operating in seconds. Reads A LOT of different cards. Kingston top quality! The unit slides forward when in use. When I place in my SD Card the force occasionally slides the unit back in once more. Sort of annoying , but DOES NOT impact the functionality of it . I *might* have knocked half a point for this.*shrug* Was searching at getting one particular of the "el cheapo" readers at initially, but for 13 bux I opted for this. Glad I did as it it reads 19(!) unique cards. Oh, I don't discover the USB cord THAT brief. I have mine sitting on leading of my desktop. Don't hesitate!

It functions excellent and loaded straightforward on to my Laptop. No discs all the sotfware was in the device. The photos load seriously rapidly from my SD Card. None I'm in Iraq and Newegg got my stuff here in only 6 days I was quite suprised. And I had bought a card reader right here it ended up having some nasty software on it. So I'm content with this.

Affordable, modest. Very Cheaply created. I just opened it and inserted a micro SD card and it WOULD NOT EJECT. I HAD TO BREAK THE FACE OF THE READER TO GET MY CARD OUT. Wonder why this is a "hot buy" deal ideal now.... Hmmm

Fantastic price tag, trusted Kingston brand, compact, works just good with OS X Snow Leopard. Appears to transfer pretty rapid. the built-in USB cable is fairly short, obviously intended to be correct beside a laptop. So possibly its not really a con, but a specific style consequence. I've only employed the CompactFlash slot so far.

It's compact, feels well built, has the capability to read pretty much each format normally used, and it's affordable. Some card readers like to place a dozen drives in your My Laptop folder, this 1 only puts a few so there's not a massive guessing game figuring out "Which drive has the memory card in it?". This factor is lightning quickly - I use a significant CF flash card with my DSLR and working with the cable from the camera to my Computer took a great 15 minutes to unload all the photographs - all the time draining the battery as properly. This card reader took literally 10 seconds to transfer various hundred megabytes worth of RAW files...SO a lot faster and less complicated! The cable pre-attached to it is modest, about two or 3 inches long, but an adapter is included which makes it much more than extended sufficient to plug into the front and set on prime of the personal computer or to the back panel and set on the leading. I intend to set it on my desk so I can have it readily available to use at any time, so I will have to acquire an extender to use it as such - but I don't consider that's such a huge situation (Especially given such a cable is only like Ū). I was originally going to obtain a card reader that mounts in the pc, but I read so several negative critiques of them and people have so quite a few situation with them not operating right and permanently adding like 15-20 drives in their My Laptop folder. Not only that, it would demand replacing my front I/O panel on the motherboard with the card reader's. This provides a substantially simpler, more efficient way of receiving my cards read with no any fuss or confusion - and I can take this with me anywhere I need to have to! If you work with significant files or continuous memory card-to-Computer transfers, this is THE card reader to get!

Has a excellent range to help The two little reader slots on the proper will break the tiny plastic case seperator amongst the readers. It also causes the slots to drop into the unit. It worked great for awhile but i attempt to read the micro sd from my Cell Phone camera and trying to get this card in the slot with no it disappearing is ridiculous. Then it lastly ate it and i had to do triage to extract the card. The cards really should not have to seat all the way in, they ought to make speak to about half way to give you the feeling that make contact with is made.

Quick for a USB card reader Ƒ.7 gig in about two minutes). The reader is tiny as soon as you get rid of it from its outer case. Attached cable is brief but excellent for a laptop considering that you don't have to hunt for a cable. The sliding outer case is silly, but it is straightforward to get rid of. Once removed, the card reader has sufficient protection and is considerably smaller. This is the card reader I now use most frequently.

Reads my Patriot 16GB with no troubles. Slide feature is slightly annoying. Squeezing the sides with one particular hand even though sliding with the other thumb assists overcome the stiffness. A very good deal. WinXP installs four drive letters when you plug in the USB.

Attached cable. Included usb extension cable. Has been unreliable. Picked up this reader because it worked with all formats I normally use. It refused to read my Memory Stick PRO Duo cards. Kingston was really helpful with their support and decided the reader ought to be defective. Got the exchange and the new reader worked fine. Except now this one particular won't read SDHCs. :/

Affordable, trustworthy, and SDHC compatible.Supports 19 diverse types of memory card what a lot more can you ask for. I advise obtaining this only if you do not strategy on leaving it on leading of your tower given that the wire is not that extended. Unless you have a USB HUB or your tower not also far from exactly where you are then that may well be a challenge. I have had this for more than a year. I have had no difficulties, this is a wonderful item I will suggest this to anybody who is looking for an external card reader.

It functions properly. My 64-bit Windows 7 machine recognized it promptly and I was able to stick a couple cards (one Micro SD and a single Micro SD in a Regular SD adapter) in their respective slots at the similar time and transfer at will. Transfer rates with a 8gb MicroSD are about 11 MB/s. With a 2gb MicroSD in an SD adapter, it's about 9 MB/s. Put that in perspective...I copied 244MB of Jurassic Five MP3s in about 20-25 seconds or so. Cool. The unit DOES come with a 2.five-3ft extended extension cord. a lot more than sufficient to let it to be placed on best of a desk setup in which the personal computer is on the floor beneath the desk. The sliding mechanism slides the whole card reader back in its housing. Much more of a gimmicky gimmick than anything else, IMO, BUT for you clumsy people or individuals who preserve memory card readers on the floor (really??), it protects regular SD cards and other cards that generally stick out from the reader. It's not no cost. There's no flames painted on it. It doesn't run on biodiesel.Yea, it's just great. It's gunmetal gray. The slider portion in the middle is silver and the Kingston logo lights up fairly bright red on that silver portion.

Cons:It is ugly. The insertion slots feel scratchy. The cord storage is a bad joke.

Pros:It works well. If you have had trouble with ultra-cheap readers dropping interest midway, this is a reader that won't let you down.
Comment:
At first I regretted buying this thing. Like some other readers, it has been designed impracticably by people who couldn't put together a simple, basic cable attachment. They had to be more clever than that, so they made this thing bigger than it had to be, with a really annoying and incompetent, very scratchy sliding bay that is a curse to your fingers. But it works. You can count on it to read your memory cards. I'm searching for a simpler designed device now, and I hope to find a better-looking one, but I have to say this is my tried-and-true workhorse. I recommend it, believe it or not.
