External USB plug (if you need/want it) - have an ESA fan controller board which makes use of an internal port, & my case (Cosmos1000) desires all 4 MOBO ports for front panel; glad to be able to snake cable out water cooling hole/grommet and use rear ports, of which I have a surfeit - specially as I don't think in using USB for much of something... External USB plug (if you do not want/want it) - spend five additional bucks and go to Rosewill equivalent with internal plug - was my original plan, 'till I identified out case front panel ports were not 'hubbed' internally, and wanted all 4 board ports... Nonetheless gotta have a floppy, 'cause some industrial logic s'ware Nevertheless uses a floppy to set up their s'ware copy defend (even though we cracked it back in ྒ) - and, handy for installing RAID drivers...

I seriously like the combination of floppy drive with card reader. I have only 1 3.five" slot in my laptop. This enables me to use the one slot and cover each functions (floppy and card reader). It reads the most typical memory cards including xD cards (not listed in specifications). Read e-mail speak to from their tech help for details and a listing of all supported cards. Tech help is slow in responding.I wish it came with an internal floppy cable. E mail from Koutech tech help:Yes, our item FPM220 can read xD cards. You might use FPM220 SMC memory slot to read xD cards. Just for your reference, beneath is a link for all supported flash memory cards and the highest capacity chart for our product FPM220.http://www.koutech3.com/public/capacity_chart/FPM220.htm

I in fact paid less funds for this card a year ago than it sells for these days. Operates wonderful and reads just about every little thing. extremely handy for digital pictures from my camera. Much more rapidly to plug in the SD card than to use the camera's USB interface. Don't use the Safe Hardware Removal feature on windows when you take a card out. If you do, you will not be capable to use the card reader till you reboot the pc. Just pull the card out when you're completed... Floppy drive functions well also, although applied infrequently.

Looks good. Nice to have the floppy drive for the rare occasion one is required (e.g. windows Backup/Restore system calls for a three.five" floppy to create the index on, no matter what media employed to shop the data; the backup is worthless devoid of that index). None of the ad copy mentions SDHC, so I have my doubts that it reads them. By other comments it's unclear if this comes with each a white and black bezel. This looks exactly like a single I have installed in a mini tower, but there are no brand names pointed out in Device Manager (ID on Particulars tab not located in searches)... the a single I have will not read SDHC cards, but a three.5" card reader (no floppy) I have in another tower reads/writes SDHC just fine. Why run the USB cable out an empty PCI cover to plug in an external port? Set up a card like N82E16815104216, N82E16815104202, N82E16815166002, or N82E16815106505, then plug the cord into that card's internal port.

Enjoy the combo! Clears up space for one more tricky drive. Usb is external but with some tin snips and a present day pci usb card with internal port it is now a internal connecter. Easy mod and give you a reason to purchase a new usb card. Floppy give you backwards compatability for all you guys livig in the 90's, and the SD reader is fairly solid. Only factor missing is a few usb ports in the front.

Performs with Windows 7. Plug and Play. None. Wonderful for these that don't have any headers left on their mobo. Three connectors: two for floppy drive and the card readers connect to an external USB port.

Card reader and floppy drive in one modest device. The USB cable coming out the back is a little hokey, but I'd rather plug in to the back than the mobo, so it works wonderful for me. I employed to have a card reader that was separate and I've wanted something like this for a whilst. So far I have had no difficulties with it not reading the cards I've thrown at it. (Cf, xD, and SD)

I genuinely loved the style; a lot of funtionality in a really tiny space. You would count on that no-a single could possibly mess up an "A" drive, but I discovered one right here. 贄.00 worth of time for a ฮ.00 aspect. Obtain some other brand. There must be some combo-drive out there, but this is my second 1 and neither one has worked. I would expect Newegg to do a significantly superior job in evaluating which items they stock. Much more income spent on shipping than the darn thing price.

This is likely the finest floppy drive I have ever utilised. Its certainly smooth and quiet! None of individuals annoying spinning/scraping/churning sounds most floppys make. The card reader/writer performs perfectly and reads greater 2 gb cards. Cards fit into it great and snugly. Extremely properly made. none. So many card readers out there are junk. They only read and cant create, cards fit in loosely or upside down. Some wont read large sized cards. Even if your not really interested in the floppy drive this is worth it just for the card reader.

The flash reader is included. It has an added escutcheon for those who have a white/beige motif. Two drives now and not one has a floppy that functions. If I could throw an egg I would, as the scale has no negative eggs. Floppies are utilised so tiny, most of the men and women that purchased 1 possibly don't know that the floppy aspect doesn't operate. My original intent was to obtain just a floppy, but thought, what the heck, two for a small additional. Properly, at least I got one, the reader. Whoever heard of operating a cable out of the cpu situation and then back in by means of the usb sockets on the outside? Also, what's with the midget CD's? Attempt putting individuals in a trayless DVD/CD drive.

Floppy with card reader. That's about it. USB cable coming out from the back of pc for the card reader. A Big flaw is the drive Can not recognize the complete capacity of SDHC cards. Maximum it will recognize is approx. 900MB. Most of my cards are SDHC, so not becoming in a position to utilize the complete capacity defeats the goal of shopping for this factor.

Comes with white and black faceplate.Looks good and all slots works. Great compact style. Faceplate can come off very easily if cover at finish of floppy catches the faceplate.Utilizes external USB connecter instead of internal motherboard header. Wish it came with an adapter for that. Despite the fact that you can mod it oneself very easily.

It connects to your motherboard through an external USB port, I didn't like possessing a cable come from inside my situation to plug into my motherboard's I/O panel. Simple and it operates like it should. Just watch the dust on it.

Multi Card reader. Floppy drive does not work. Drivers are installed, lights up when you insert a disc, but doesn't read it. Generally says "disc not formatted, do you want to format it?" Will not format anjd won't read a file off a disc that is already formatted/recorded (discs which function on my other computers). Simply because the floppy drive doesn't work I have ordered a new Sony Drive (from Newegg) but have to wait to configure my RAID drives until it arrives... Did not fit nicely in the bay. Screws did not line up correctly. Also the USB cable hanging out of the back of the box and utilizing up an external USB port appears sloppy. There are readily available internal USB ports on the mobo if there was an adapter.

The notion at least is a great use of a three.5" front bay slot - mixture floppy disk drive and memory card reader. Floppy is nevertheless a utilised medium, and the memory cards would be convenient. Power feed entirely overloaded. Thankfully only a single smaller segment of cabling from the PSU was affected (one of only two floppy power connectors the PSU consists of). Basically, the outcome was a frayed PSU cable that had to be cut out and a noticeably burnt region around where the power connector went on the drive. As considerably as can be determined, the element failed and took a chunk of cable with it. Anything was connected appropriately based on the guides and anything, and even according to knowledge, but the element just failed and shook up these of us assembling the method with the smell of the dreaded 'Magic Smoke'. Thankfully absolutely nothing else was damaged, but it was nonetheless rather troubling.

Windows recognized the card reader immediately.Very easy to replace the included floppy with a USB version. (See other thoughts) Don't know what to do with the floppy drive that came with it I'd been making use of an external floppy drive and noticed that its eject button and LED were in the very same positions as the upper half as this item. Sure adequate I opened them and located that they had been identical aside from the interface boards at the back. They even had the very same mounting holes!
