Retail package...comes with every thing you want; SATA Cable, Nero 9 Essentials, Software drivers/apps. Appears faster than my older LITEON DVD drives. Win 7 acknowledged the drive suitable from the start out and have not even installed the enclosed computer software/apps. The only noticeable noise in my case comes from this drive when you load in specific discs. It's constantly the similar discs, not a random issue. Good worth for the cost. I have burned several discs (mostly CD-RWs) with out any troubles. The drive is quickly and has been fairly quiet. Comes with an SATA cable. Installation was quick and basic. Uncomplicated to install, functions. Very noisy. I got two of them and then one particular day they decided to start off generating ridiculous amounts of noise. Haven't observed any troubles with functionality.... yet.

You will need to register Nero or it will forever pop up asking you too.

Lightscribe works excellent, burns consistently well. Inexpensive. none For the cost this is one of the ideal burners I have employed. I have had mine virtually a year and it nonetheless hums along like a champion. I love lightscribe.

The paint on the drive is just correct. Not too dim and washed out but not too pure white either. This drive has lasted me for more than a year and and a half, but...(see cons) just lately it has been finding jammed whilst trying to eject the tray. I have in no way been forceful with the drive, and I have always used the correct procedure (the eject button) to open and close the tray, so I preceive either a thing is not lubricated appropriate, or this drive is just cheaply produced altogether. But, I have also identified that it opens when you have a disc in it. The only alter from the time that it worked fine, and the time when it started giving me difficulties was a minor firmware upgrade. So those having the same problem as me I advise to revert back to the old firmware version, and see if that assists, as that is what I'm going to do. Lite-On get it together!

Wonderful cost. It burned CDs and DVDs flawlessly. As quick and reliable as other burners of the very same speed but at a lot less expensive cost. Software is lacking. Terrific drive with the updated 'B' chipset. Wasn't cost-free. :) Own both the 'A' and 'Y' chipsets drives and this one is just as great.

If you're searching for a DVD drive that can handle the read/write of practically any format (except Blu-ray, duh), this is your finest bet. It has much higher speeds for burning any CD/DVD format than almost any other DVD drive out there. The speed that discs boot up are incredibly responsive. The instant I pop in a driver disc, it spins promptly, and it loads up the information in no time at all. I am amazed at how fast but straightforward this DVD drive is, but it's wonderful for burning discs, as nicely as reading them. There's not a great deal else I can say about that. The driver disc it comes with also brings Nero 9 Essentials with it. Thinking about I'll be needing this computer software for my video editing, this is a excellent software add-on for me to have, so kudos for bringing Nero's several disc attributes as an extra gift. Also, LightScribe is a technologies I've in no way had prior to, but I'm quickly catching on to its artistic possibilities. Add every little thing together, and you have a amazing DVD drive. There is some poor news to this drive, though. Personally, I would just like to say this is my initially built PC ever, and I don't know if this was human error, or just the drive itself, but this thing can get loud. I mean LOUD. It's typically not that noticeable, in particular when watching a DVD, or when burning and ripping, but when it comes to software installation discs, it sounds like a Harrier jump jet is taking off of my case. Once again, I don't know if the story is true for others, but I'm just getting honest. Other than the noise, I have observed no difficulties with this device at all. It's an outstanding drive for what it claims, and for ว, you genuinely don't have to go low cost on a DVD player. If you're searching for a DVD player for an HTPC, I'd still suggest this, thinking of that though there could be noise issues, it only appears to have an effect on installation discs, whereas playing my old DVDs on it was fast and yet rather silent. It's wonderful for CDs, DVDs, burning, ripping, playing, and labeling.

-It works! right after an RMA.-Let me install windows 7. Would not read DVD's, absolutely nothing, nada. Popped in a CD and auto play launched proper away. Customer service was terrific, did an RMA, took about 3 weeks to get a working, DVD-reading drive.

Works just dandy! Came with Nero Essentials 9, OEM. (Cool). The tray feels a small low-cost - but the thing is cheap! Would obtain it once more on the subsequent machine.

It works proper out of the box. Only about the people who complain about a burner at this cost, need to be younger. I remember paying over 贄 for a 6x Philips cd burner, but it did have that really cool door that opened up.

Inexpensive but good. I have applied it many times to install points and it isn't the fastest out there but for ฤ you can't go wrong. It is loud when spinning up. But like I stated earlier it was cheap so who cares.
