MSI has performed it once more, with a mainboard of low expense but of high standards. This board has quite a few attributes of 200 dollar boards for a low low cost. I have but to attempt the unlocking of the cores mainly because of worry of the failure rate....but two cores is mighty quickly for what i do with 8gigs of g-ability and two black challenging-drives in raid ........which BTW is at 215mps read and 210mps write....i can install programs SO fast......i like it. NONE...but.....nicely.....my video cards heat-sink touches the pci slot. Excellent item for the price tag....fantastic characteristics....amazing principal-board....i am in enjoy with my 700 spending budget method..... it marks at 7k in pcmark = )

Low-cost, great features, easy to OC if you so opt for. I favor ATX boards, spacious and easy to access all of the ports. No Crossfire/SLI support (aware of this before I purchased). If you want to max out the RAM to 1666 MHZ you will want to OC it (also conscious of this before I purchased it). Nevertheless, it would be good if it was automatically detected. For the cost it's tough to beat. MSI makes great solutions. The sound on the board is great as effectively, I don't assume i'll even add a 3rd party card. I've had it running for about 2 weeks now, flawless.

Unlocks CPU coresGood layoutUSB 3.6xSATA portsExtremely stable Only 1 1x PCI-E slotToo quite a few old PCI slots, who demands far more than 1? I have this operating a Phenom II X4 955 and 2x2GB of Patriot Ripjaw DDR3. I do not overclock, but there are plenty of overclocking options on this board. I have been working with this considering that last summer season with no troubles. I am operating it in a Corsair Graphite 600 case and using HWMonitor, the NB never goes above 50C. This is a very strong foundation for an AMD build at a good value. I can not comment on the audio high quality as I have had a discrete soundcard in this from day a single.

It looks wonderful color-wise. Runs fine NOW (read below) and isn't bottlenecking any other piece of hardware. Definitely a good board for the value. I had 2x1GB PC3-8500 (DDR3 10666) Elpida ram from one more comp. I ordered some precise very same timing DDR3-10666 GSkill 2x1GB sticks on newegg. It refused to even turn on the PCI-E graphics card and show something on the screen with the GSkill alone in slot 1 and 2 or with the Elpida in 3 and 4 as properly. My probe card indicated it was repeating a portion of the POST more than and over in a cycle for no purpose and no beep codes. With Elpida sticks in 1 and 2 and the gskill sticks in three and 4, it runs in dual channel and passes a ram tests and POSTS and boots fine and runs Win 7 perfectly stable. Undoubtedly odd! Just maintain in mind that this board is apparently seriously picky about ram. Technically the Gskill sticks' model number didn't precisely match the ones on the QVL list for this board but the one with the precise identical speeds and stats isn't sold on newegg so I figured it would work...and I guess technically it does "work" now but I'm not positive why moving them mattered. According to MSI, this board doesn't exist. It's an 870-G45 with an AMD770 chipset on it rather of the AMD870. It runs perfectly stable and comes with suitable drivers but it's not genuinely a 870 series board so I don't know why they named it that. The value mainly because of this is nice and the overall performance for the price tag is fantastic though so if you're super cautious about the ram, it makes a ideal high speed but spending budget build.

Very good for X6 processors. None Works excellent, fits all my parts and under no circumstances had a issue. With the rest of my parts I was in a position to build my computer below two hours without any difficulties at all. Initial run was awesome. Worth purchasing!

Functions perfectly as advertised. Installed on Athlon II X3 Rana 435 and G Ability Sniper DDR3 1333Mhz 8GB kit. Also dont forget to set voltages manually to keep away from Hypertransport sync flood errors. Ƒ.325V for VCore and 1.5V VDimm) None The issue is with the AMD chipsets. All motherboards have voltage stabilization troubles. ASUS and MSI and so forth... I found all boards had hypertransport sync flood complications. the only way to stay away from this was to set the voltages manually for the CPU and ram. I disabled Cool N Quiet and manually set the voltages and then the method has been stable running Prime95 and Checked everything operating CoreTemp in Windows 7 Ultimate 64. Just preserve this in mind when getting any of the AMD motherboards. FYI I dont overclock.

The bios attributes were impressive and really user friendly. 1 does not need to have to be a power user to set up and optimize this board. It caught fire. Yes, literally. My latest rebuild included a Phenom II X6 3.two Black edition, four gigs in one stick of G-Skill DDR3 memory, and an EVGA 460GTX. I was attracted to the specs and low price of this board, and the "Military Class" hardware so I believed I'd give MSI a try. I'd just 'moved in'. I was monitoring core temps and operating Prime95. With all six cores at max load my CPU temp never ever exceeded 40 degrees C. It was number crunching and passing all Prime95 tests. Suddenly, the nicely ventilated interior of my case, gently lit by blue LEDs in my quite a few case fans, went dark and my Computer was just off. It didn't hang, blue screen, or stutter. Just off. Then I noticed that commonly blue interior was lit by an orange glow. Absolutely nothing in my rig lights up orange. It was then I saw that the motherboard was burning like it had a built in lighter.I lack spare hardware to see what other elements this board might have destroyed. I may be out hundreds of dollars. This isn't my first rodeo. I've built Computer's for myself and other individuals for years. I've in no way noticed anything very like this.I've contacted Newegg customer service for advice on RMA. Until then, at bare minimum, I respectfully request the 'military class' label be removed from the product. Luckily, my life does not depend on this machine. Nevertheless, I shutter to feel of what could have happened if it caught fire though I was not property.Worst case, I work off my laptop for the next year even though I save to replace this rig. Quickly. Featureful. Unusually high-quality BIOS software program. None. A buddy of mine has a motherboard which takes in excess of fifteen seconds to POST—this one particular does it in about two. It's the small points that make hardware pleasant to use.

This board supports crossfire and has lots of area to develop with its 16GB allotment and 6 SATA connectors. core unlock technology isn't for 6-core CPUs, MSI dropped the ball on this given that they provide x6 support and the manual states the unlock function is only for quad-cores. I really like MSI items, in the time I've built systems, I only had one particular board die on me and it was only right after running it 24ǝ for 3 years and it getting abused though shipping to my new house.

This was the 1st method I produced myself and I enjoy this board extremely uncomplicated to overclock "SO Straightforward A CAVEMAN CAN DO IT" just switch the switches 1 setting at a time and BAM! Your new method is overclocked ;) AMD Athlon x4 630 2.8 to three.6 just with the switch Im still weary of the bios as its a bit hard to navigate..Great size board for my set up will state below..IF YOUR ON A BUGET GET THIS MOBO incredibly nice =) The Bios is confusing..I had a odd time installing Ram i don't know why i do have diverse brand names as in BRAND 1 IN DIMM 1 and BRAND 2 IN DIMM two, It just was odd i kept getting b.s.o.d. till i kept switching it around and installed them one particular by a single.. I was a bit spectacle due to some of the negative ratings this got, and a local laptop or computer shop saying he would never acquire an MSI board I dont know why but what ever.. and this is a 870 chipset some persons are saying it is not but FYI to the buyer NEWEGG was promoting the older model but now it is 870AMD Athlon II x4 630 2.8 o.c. three.6MSI 870-G458 gbs ramXFX RADEON HD 4870AGI 480 watt power supplyCOOLER MASTER Hyper N 520Antec Three Hundred

I can go to youtube and videos will play but no sound...i went into the speaker setting to test my speakers but when i test them it will not get any sound of of the speakers either...Im not too positive what the issue is. But after reading some on here..i discover folks also have been having sound complications im tempted to acquire An additional MOTHERBOARD simply because its extremely annoying having to restart the computer to fix th Do not get me wrong..its a fantastic board other than these weird sound issues....but its beginning to get seriously truly truly annoying....-__- MSi 870-G45 Gaming Series MB Azza Solaro 1000 Full tower caseAMD Athlon 64 X3 445 three.1 GHZ (unlocked to X4):^GB DDR3 G.Skill Ripjaws500GB and 250 GB internal Seagate Barracuda/ External 1TB toshibaGTX 560-Ti MSi Twin Frozr II Video CardAsus 23 Inch Widescreen HDMI Audigy Sound Blaster 4Logitec X-530 five.1 Surround SoundWindows 7

Solid ATX board for the cost. Can unlock certain dual cores to full capability.Layout is what you would expect.Board was adequately labelled in white lettering. (Should not be a pro in this age, but sadly it is) Directions could have employed greater diagrams, but it is serviceable for installation as extended as you have minimal know-how of what you are carrying out. Almost certainly was just my case, but installing the GPU was a little tight and I ended up having to bang the case panel out a little to make it fit snug.

Great layout , great OC ability, two PCI-E x16 slots The two ram slots in the middle are negative which is ok for now as i have 2x2GB installed but an RMA to MSI is in the foreseeable future. This my second board from msi with the very same challenge. I recognize this is a low finish/mid range board but it doesn't need low end high quality. a lot of expansion card possibilities, PCI, PCIe 1x, and of course the PCIe 16x and 4x. 4 DDR3 memory slots, capable of overclocking my G.Skill Ripjaws. Unlocked my Phenom II X2 555 to a quad-core with ease. Great bios and documentation. Very good value. Not the newest NB and SB chipsets. AMD 770, not 870 as is printed all over the box and board itself. Lacks USB 3.. Blue PCIe and DDR3 slots, as nicely as LEDs. Each other LED in my case is red. The vibrant blue LEDs can be disabled in BIOS nonetheless.
