Properly the board operates. I put my core2quad on it and put in 4 gigs of ram. With just those and my 2 hard drives and 1 dvd drive along with my wireless card. It all worked Excellent, I plan on continuing to use this mobo for the next couple of years. My concern begins when I tried t add a Pcie2. video card on the board. With some analysis I wanted to be in a position to use the hdmi port on my monitor as an alternative of my vga port on my monitor which has a defect. With backwards compatibility of pcie ports and cards, this will function. when i did this, it worked but then when i place it at max resolution, it has an problem with latency of the computers response time. this may possibly be just as well significantly information attempting to run on the bus. I program on acquiring an additional mob, but utilizing this 1 with another processor as just a server and not a usable desktop like i tried to make it. But over all it performs great with my core2quad and 4 gigs of ram. I would Hugely recommend.

None however.. The video wasn't functional. I bought an inexpensive video card to use with it simply because this was a Christmas present. I tested my own video card and it worked fine.

What's the pro's. The issue burned out on me following a month and a single week. I'm stuck with a hunk of junk that I can not get a refund or rma. Its burned out right after a month and one week. I'll have to wait to replace it, simply because of finances. I am actually disappointed with this board. If your finances are tight like mine save the money and purchase a much better board that will final longer than a month and a week. Of course it had to burn out on me right after the return peroid had passed. Subsequent time Ill save my income and get a superior mother board. It did work properly for the month and 7 days its worked. Other than that its an epic fail.

Cheap. Onboard video(low grade) if you require it and help for a wide wide variety of CPU's. Darn stable as soon as configured properly. Supports every OS from windows 2000 to windows7 32 and 64bit from my individual make practical experience. Excellent overclocking capabilities for a MATX board. Decent layout and MSI's usual quality 1st.. update the BIOS. The shipping BIOS (on mine v4.1) was an absolute disaster. The most up-to-date v4.three fixed all the issues I had. I think the four.3 BIOS would have left this overview section with nearly no complaints. The four.1 was just that negative. Only ten럼 network assistance kinda sucks as does lack of firewire... but once more.. this is a incredibly low-cost MOBO. Require to make a inexpensive trusted technique for a non computer system geek... this with a 45nm Celeron plus 2GB pf PC6400 will do the trick nicely. I constructed two for my nephews with the 45nm E3200's , 1GB of OCZ PC6400 and a decent PCIE video card. A single overclocked on this mobo to three.6Ghz with no vcore raise on the stock cooler. I'm presently constructing myself one particular for a backup method with an e6300 45nm and 4GB of OCZ PC6400. You can normally get these on combo offers. Positive they are not the most up-to-date... but fill the require for many effortlessly and run cool. My2c

Excellent and low-cost motherboard for the normal laptop or computer user. I overclocked a Celeron dual core e3300 easily to two.9Ghz simply (Stock 2.5Ghz). This is perfect for my secondary Computer. Oh and it's TINY. I was surpised just how tiny this was. Certainly no SLI,CFX. On the other hand it's ฽. So... yeah, what do you anticipate?

Operates greater than expected. Booted ideal up the 1st time. None So Far Utilised this MB as portion of budget construct. Employed with an Intel E5300 (Pentium Dual Core) CPU and 2x1gb of kingston DDR2 667 (PC2-5300) & Windows 7 ࿀bit). Not Undesirable, Not Poor At All. More quickly & Smoother running than I had anticipated.

Help up to core two quad, 8GB ddr2 800 memory. 4 SATA ports. IDE and floppy ports (who uses these any longer?). BIOS has selections out the wazoo. Integrated graphics and a Pentium E5500 play 1080p files devoid of concern. Playing HL2E2 will present problems on medium graphical settings (it's integrated, get a video card if you're a gamer). Only a PCI Express x16 slot implies no recent graphics, but it's an older board to begin with. Not confident this is the essential layout for microATX, but why is the CPU power pin in the middle of the board? For some purpose it wouldn't POST on the very first attempt. Immediately after removing all the power, memory, and so forth from the board and back once more it fired right up.

Smaller, MicroATX, low-cost. Layout is horrible, placement of components next to the end PCI Express slot suggests you can\'t use any new or more substantial size PCI express card, but it's not meant to be either. Get a far better board if you require gaming. Excellent for general office use or household computer system.

AffordableWorked appropriate out of the box For this value, can't believe of any.... effectively the I/O shield was slightly annoying to place in. Got this for a friend along with a core two quad to upgrade his comp for Christmas. Worked well and had no bios or driver difficulties so it was rapid and straightforward.

Uncomplicated install. Fit in new 30 dollar rosewll case nicely. No dvi. But what do you want for 45 bucks? Bought as a replacement for a two-year old acer desktop. Power supply failed and fried mobo. Bought this mobo, Thermalake 430 watt ps, Rosewell case, win7 hp, and a dynatron cpu cooler for 225 shipped. My brother-in-law has generally a brand new pc. I was in a position to conserve the memory (ddr2 800), processor (intel dual core 1.8), hard drive (wd 350), and cd drive. Functions great. Newegg got everything to my door in two days. Wn7 loaded all necessary drivers. Couldn't be happier. Thanks newegg!

Stable and operates nicely for the price. Northbridge heatsink is surprisingly big (but nonetheless gets just as hot as any other G31) Quite few overclocking attributes. I could change CPU and RAM frequency, but there was definitely nothing at all in the BIOS that would let me alter or even VIEW voltages or RAM timings to make sure they had been right. I wouldn't use it for something more than really fundamental overclocking; Gigabyte and ASUS G31 boards give substantially more in the OC division. The CPU voltage regulation circuit utilizes three Phase power and only 6 transistors. ASUS' G31 board also has 6 transistors, but Gigabyte's G31 board has 9 transistors. Much more transistors = bigger processor overclocking headroom and motherboard stability, for a tiny ů additional. It's missing a PCI-E x1 slot, but that's clear from the images and most people don't use it anyway. I overclock with each and every motherboard I purchase, and the lack of OC characteristics on this board will make me look elsewhere subsequent time. Otherwise, it's a solid and trustworthy board, with a greater northbridge heatsink than other boards.

quickly, contemporary (rebuilt an old Hp for cheap), stable as soon as the appropriate drivers and bios installed. 4 Sata headers, floppy drive connections, additional fan connections, parallel header. A very good bridge among old and new tech. Drivers on CD did not cut it. Had to go to each maker for new drivers (audio, Ethernet adapter). Parallel header on board, but no cable. Non-typical, so couldn't use the 1 from the previous motherboard. Have to mail order, ŭ element, but price ฟ to get it. You also can't use all the audio inputs devoid of the right situation. Only 1 IDE header, so use 2 IDE devices max, but four SATA headers. I got this to repair my dead auxiliary "web-surfing" machine in a low-cost bundle with a dual-core Intel celeron. The machine (XP) is good enough for everyday use. It requires a graphics card for games, and placing in a "hand me down" card sped up internet surfing a bit additional.

In theory at least, it would have served as a great foundation for a expense-efficient, minimalist build. Two DOA mobos in a row, so the con is each singular and all-encompassing: that's too many lemons in a row for my liking. Third time won't be the charm, as I'll locate an entirely distinct board. I'll be RMA'ing the replacement shortly and moving on to greener 775 pastures. As an aside, I don't blame Newegg in the least for this; however, people ought to be conscious that there seems to be an unusually high chance of receiving an costly silicon paperweight with this a single. In any situation, kudos to those that have working ones! :) Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued MSI Customer,We would like to apologize for the situation you have seasoned with this unique mb. Fantastic motherboard for the value. Performs decent overclocks automatically. Makes it possible for control of CPU Mulitplier, FSB and memory selections. Seems compatible with many old DDR2 high overall performance memory kits. Auto overclocks. No manage of voltage for CPU, NB and Memory. VCore maxes out @ 1.3V. FSB seems limited to 340 on my CPU (previously stable @ 8x450 and 9x400 on DFI MB). Only 1 PCIe slot. Only two Dimm slots. You get what you pay for - a basic minimal MB. Its running stable @ 3060Mhz. I've put with each other much more then a dozen computers with this MB and have but to have a challenge with it. No compatability troubles with the wide array of dirt affordable memory I've employed. This is not a high finish MB, overclocking a lot more then a handful of percent with it will outcome in crashes. Its not produced for it, don't bother attempting. I've been tossing two Gb of the least expensive RAM readily available and a dual core pentium 2.8GHz into these and the results, while not spectuacular, are completely adequate for office use.

+ Low-cost+ Quiet (cpu fan control in BIOS)+ Simple to set up+ Decent overall performance+ Solid driver support from Intel - 2 DIMM slots limit expandability All round a standard board that is nicely worth its price tag. I have a E8400, 8800gt, 500 WD HD, 2x2GB 800 ram. Make sure you update the BIOS to the newest four.four version. The windows update utility from MSI is easy to use. Overall, very satisfied. I have one more G31 chipset board (ECS) and this one gets slightly greater bench scores versus the other one. Not confident why as the components are the exact same.

Running with e7400 and 2gigs 667. Serves as a HTPC an emulator box with a television. ATI 1550 card soon to be replaced by an HDTV card. Nonetheless hate putting on a 775 heatsink! Consider this may possibly be raid capable from lookin at manufacturer web site. Purchased as a combo and actually can\'t complain.. Not for gaming.. But streams netflix no prob and hd playback as it ;)

+ Look carefully at the layout of the PCB. A lot of thought and arranging went into cutting down the physical size of this board. The IDE port and motherboard plugs are lined up perfectly, virtually flush to the edge of the board. There's a stunning gap between the chipset heatsink, so that you can install one particular of the longer double slot PCI-E graphics cards without it blocking your SATA plugs. This was all so that you, the consumer, could install this point into even the smallest of compatible circumstances with no hating life.+ I'm at 4 GHz stable with this motherboard and a Pentium E5500 CPU. Stock heatsink and fan. Yeah, no, I can't believe it either. That's already an remarkable overclock, but I unfortunately can't push it farther for lack of a VCore adjustment. Whatever gains you get are going to have to be carved out at stock voltages. - The tiny PCB has its downsides, too. The two headers for the switches and LEDs are not labeled. "No dilemma," you will feel, "I'll just stick to the diagram in the manual. Plus these places are type of common on any contemporary motherboard anyway, shouldn't be a challenge!" *** Crucial *** The diagram in the manual illustrates the jumper places for JFP1 upside-down in relation to JFP2. Make confident you sort of mentally re-orient the jumper locations based on where the missing pin on the header is supposed to be. Otherwise, you will click...click...click that energy button, but it's going to be hooked up to the incorrect terminals. You could even erroneously assume that the board is DOA. Ahead of assuming that, make sure you examine and double-check your energy button header. This board is diabolical in that sense. These are the factsɅ. You're getting a 775-socket element in this day and age, so you want one thing low-cost. If you want a pricey, function-packed 775 board, and you're really budgeting for some thing like that--correct now, in 2011--then I just don't know what to say to you. Take that similar funds and acquire a newer-generation motherboard and compatible CPU or one thing.2. But that's not you. You want a board that will cost you below โ and give you solid, unending efficiency. No frills, all organization. And not only that, but you wanted to purchase the product of a respected manufacturer, who has been generating this stuff for 25 drama-free of charge years, and you didn't want to gamble on a "ZOTAC" or "Foxconn" board, with their wide array of double-sided Newegg reviews. No, you wanted a confident point.3. You deemed points 1 and two and purchased this point. You are a wise and learned individual.

Does the job for a reasonably inexpensive price. It's challenging these days to find a motherboard that supports LGA 775 and DDR2 800 RAM. Bought to replace an ASUS motherboard with a negative PCI-e slot. Can't actually feel of any. See Other thoughts 1 issue that I'm a bit confused about is with MSI's Dual Core Center utility program. When I start off up my personal computer, the program shows that my FSB is operating at 400MHz, which is twice as rapid as it should be. It's a small puzzling to me, but I figure as extended as it works, I'm more than satisfied.
