MSI G31TM-P21 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Comment:
I have two of these boards now and they are for the most portion operating wonderful. Works excellent with Intel E8400 and E5400 CPUs that I have. Corsair and PQI turbo RAM installed with no a fuss. Onboard sound on 1 of the mobos sounds fine when playing WoW, Supcom2, Borderlands, etc. Had to deduct a couple of eggs because the onboard sound does not operate on one of the two boards I've installed. I slapped in an old Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS in the 1 available slot and it works like a champ. I possibly really should have knocked off a lot more eggs for DOA onboard sound, but I in all probability would have installed my soundblaster eventually anyways. I might call MSI and have them send me one more board, but what a discomfort. Other than that 1 difficulty these boards run great with small fuss.

Bought this to pair with a very old Pentium E2140. Overclocked to 333x8 and 1:1 ram with no problem whatsoever. Very pleased. Only minor annoyance is that it only has VGA, no DVI or HDMI output.

Pros:Cheap, Tiny, Supported CPU's,

You don't always get what you pay for... some times you get more! so for 34.99 you can't go wrong. Even if you don't like it as a mobo just screw it to a wall in place of a expensive painting or a photo of your mother.

Please refer to my previous reviews titled "Minor complaint and concern" and "Happy so far" 2 difficult drive difficulties: 1) With two SATA's and 1 PATA totaling up to 7 partitions, XP behaved extremely funny! I thought each and every drive can have up to 4 partitions below XP. 2) With two USB hard drives and 1 had its own energy supply, Windows complained throughout a few copy commands. Lastly it corrupted 1 file on one partition causing disk check failed to total. On next bootup, XP fixed the corrupted file! Disk check was fine!It will not work with Apricorn full boot disk(USB hard drive support), but it will with secure boot disk(without USB difficult support)! I have no theory on the very first difficulty. My best guess is may be the tough drive controller can not deal with so numerous drives and partitions! Mixing PATA, CD burner(although it claims IDE controller can manage 2 devices which is accurate because I tested it) and more than 1 SATA, the controller is quite confused! The second difficulty I feel is lack of power to all the USB devices; in addition to two USB drives, I had an USB card reader and floppy drive combo tied up one of the USB headers, despite the fact that the reader did have a floppy drive energy cable connecting to it!The on board USB controller/driver could be too new for the EZ GIG II software program. I tested 7 older systems with the full boot disk, they all worked fine! I will speak to Apricorn support when the holidays are more than. I am hoping they will have a patch or a newer version of the software program!

This does over-clock really properly. It adds what voltages it requirements. The board does it, not you. The Board does it not you At the time for the money incredibly well spent. I have been employing it for almost a year. Have an E5200 running at 290fsb 3627 MHZ. Employing some affordable cooler purchased from Newegg.

Bought this to replace a flaky board in my mom's HP and it fired up with no difficulties what so ever. Works perfectly so far running Windows 7. No complaints or problems as of however! MSI is a good name. I ran with an MSI board on an old laptop or computer of mine with no issues. As for the complaints from the couple of folks finding dead boards, it's rare, but it happens with every brand. Switching stores where you order it from like the last reviewer isn't going to alter that. Would obtain MSI once again.

Cons: No intelligent CPU fan control, manual settings only.

Pros: The price was right, had the features I needed, worked without issue once installed.

This is a great budget board for a general use computer setup. I used this to replace a Acer motherboard which died. Dropped in the process, ram, and hard drive without issue. Booted without any problems. You can't go wrong with this little board for the price and performance it offers.

MSI G31TM-P21 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons: Only 2 slots for rams

Pros: Inexpensive, good quality, has almost all features that most people want from a motherboard
Comment:
What can I say? It's a quality, inexpensive micro board that provides me with all the features that I want for my Celeron based budget build. With this board I'll have no problem upgrading my system: I can drop  a quad-core cpu, a PCI e16 video card and 8 gigs of rams. I basically have a system that will last for at least another 4 or 5 years before becoming out-dated.

MSI G31TM-P21 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons: No DVI for onboard video

Pros: Great price with good features
Comment:
Bought this board and paired it with the Intel Celeron E3200 and 2GB of DDR 800 RAM and what do you get? A more than capable computer to replace my sister's old one that finally gave out after 5 years for about $150. Ok my sister isn't a gamer and she doesn't do video editing, but truth be told I don't think the majority of users out there do either. And for her Internet and productivity tasks, this dual-core rig does a great job at a great price.

MSI design change
Comment:
Middle of the road product. I am old school. Hate that new MLBs have no parallel printer ports, one IDE connector, and soon no floppy connector. Board performs great. Price was a bit high due to cooling fan in combo pack. Design did not allow me to use my own cooling fan. Capacitors near cpu too high for my CF to fit. Not fond of snap in cooling fans. I prefer the screw in type. Also, user manual does not inform you that F11 will bring up boot menu (for those who didn't know). Yet, I am still sold on MSI the past 5 years.

An Exceptional Value MOTHERBOARD
Comment:
I ordered this board to upgrade my daughter's PC from single core to dual core & increase speed. This MB really gets it done & at a super low price. I added a graphics card to gain an HDMI port but the onboard graphics was also good. This board has the family talking about upgrading their PCs to something better ! Fast shipping & a quality product - thanks!

Good Product, Bad Manual
Comment:
I had an interesting experience with this board during assembly... after hooking it up to my case (sans hard drives) I tried to boot up so I could check the system temp in the BIOS. Nothing happened. I tried a lot of troubleshooting, including calling tech support. Nothing worked. I thought I had a bad board, until, on a whim, I bridged a different set of pins on the power connectors. Lo and behold... turns out the manual's diagram for the power connectors was upside down. (The diagram above was right-side up, just in case you think I'm dyslexic) Overall, I'm enjoying this board, now that it works.

OK MoBo, but manufacturer support is lacking
Comment:
I purchased this board for a new PC build for a customer. For the price, it's not bad. The only complaint I have is a false message beep indicating a Base 64 RAM failure. I replaced the RAM with 2 other products and all gave the same error beeps. I contacted the manufacturer who responded by asking if the system posted and booted to the OS. I replied yes, it runs great. I haven't heard from then since and that was over a week ago.
