Capacitors didn't fall off this time.Stable at three.6 stock volts.16 gig of ram operates Could want to look at the higher end board. demands far more than 1 usb 2. & three. headersBios sucks, very slow to post. Can't run VM software program Stated I want to turn on a Bios setting witch is not in the BIOS. So a lot for spending an extra 贄 for win7 pro. Hope they repair this in the subsequent bios update.Had to update the bios in windows would not operate in the BIOS flash utility. Had to RMA the initially M/B parts falling off. Cold solder joints Created in china Got this for 150.00 RMA 11.00 shipping. Newegg does a very good job on RMA'sThe last time I built a system three years ago I had 3 RMA's M/b Ram & V/C.This was not poor compared to that.

- Incredibly stable with moderately overclocked i7-2600k Ɣ.two GHz @ four cores up to 4.5 GHz @ 1 core), two x four GB G.Skill Ripjaws X Series DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800), and Xigmatek Gaia SD 1283 heat sink on Win7-64 Household.- Fantastic fan manage in Bios. - Lots of SATA/eSATA interfaces, lots of USB interfaces on back panel, 4 USB three. interfaces. - Takes a although to post; cryptic screen displays along with annoying beeps for each USB device identified. But the moment the system is set up, I generally only re-boot if required by updates (sleep otherwise) so not really a dilemma. - Only one USB 2. connector on MB. They should have integrated either a second USB two. MB connector or a USB 3. front panel instead of (or in addition to) the USB 3. bracket. Of course this is a thing you can find out just before you buy the MB, so no eggs deducted. - I've tried the OC Genie, but it modifications the base multiplier (instead of the turbo increase) to 42 as a result disabling (at least on my program) the automatic switch to 16 on idle. So rather, I left the base multiplier untouched and manually set the multipliers for the turbo improve to 42 for four cores up to 45 for 1 core which functions perfectly fine with no need to alter something else. For positive this is not the maximum, but it is adequate for me as a good compromise between overall performance and power consumption and really simple to accomplish.- While the manual says that with only 2 DIMMs you have to use Slots 1 and three I can report that a Slot 2 and four configuration also functions fine (in my setup the fan of the Xigmatek Gaia would otherwise have direct contact to a DIMM in slot 1) - The 90 degree configuration of the SATA connectors is not best in an Antec Sonata three situation, becoming extremely close to the HD cage which is also in a 90 degree configuration (you'll require lengthy and tiny fingers…)

Very good looking mobo, lots of nice blue accents to match my black and blue theme. Efficiency is precisely what you would count on out of a very good mobo. OC Genie is very good for these who could locate manually overclocking tedious soon after you've accomplished it so much like myself. Simply press the OC genie button the board then power up the method and boom it took my i5 2500k to four.1GHz by itself. I surely plan to take it higher even though. None

UEFI for BIOS!!! No a lot more ugly 1980's looking stuff.Nice layout of the board. No plugs in strange places.'Bout time they dropped IDE & floppy cables. MSI User Guide : Web page En-ten "To make certain a successful method boot-up, constantly insert the memory modules into the DIMM 1 very first".It ought to read "Only install one stick of RAM in the closest slot to the CPU socket the very first time you boot, right after assembly. Then shut sown and set up the rest of your sticks of RAM and reboot".Enable in MSI forum is very poor. They need to have to hire me. I adore researching and helping individuals solve problems. Perhaps I'm not as wise as I thought I was. When I see "memory modules into the DIMM 1 1st", I feel of a translation problem with the User Guide. Not only install one particular DIMM. Anyway, the challenge it gave me was Windows 7 64 only had two.99GB of memory offered, instead of the appropriate 4GB.I had to shutdown, uninstall 2 DIMMS, press reset CMOS button, set up 1 DIMM, boot Windows, shutdown, install DIMM 3, reboot. My undesirable MSI.

Works as it really should. I got my i7-2600 with two 64gb SSD drives, 16GB of ram, and SLI GTX 460 operating. I lately added 8gb more ram and the pc wouldn't post. I have four x 4gbsticks of RAM: G.Skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL. I brought it down to DDR3 1333 and moved the sticks around to get it to post.Other troubles is that if I leave my Computer alone with out touching it at all, it freezes and I have to energy it down completely. I assume this might be the motherboard and its power saving features. I'll have to do far more tests in particular just before running VM computer software.

I've built two Sandy Bridge systems in the last couple of weeks, an ASUS P8P67 based technique and an MSI P67A-GD65 based system. I like the MSI board a lot additional than the ASUS board. The MSI board worked out of the box, and it's operating overclocked at four.5GHz with no any difficulties, the ASUS didn't operate until I set the RAM speed down to 1066 (the MSI board is running the RAM at 1366). I like the MSI BIOS additional than the ASUS BIOS. It needs a lot more on board USB connectors. I installed Scientific Linux 6. on the program, the only challenge is that sensors-detect doesn't support Sandy Bridge boards, I did a modprobe coretemp which provides lm_sensors the internal core temps. I built a 2.6.38.two kernel even though the stock two.6.32 kernel seems to operate fine.I overclocked the 2600K to 4.5GHz and ran sys_basher on the system, it ran fine. I also ran Verilog simulations overnight on all for cores and it's stable.Method is this MSI board, 16G GSkill Sniper RAM, iCore7 2600K, Noctua NH-D14 cooler, Antec 900 case, OCZ 700W supply.

Almost everything installed, tweaked processor and memory voltages plus timings and all was excellent. Try to play any games and one particular is met with artifacts and black screens!? What the H? Does not like my GTX 470's which played fine with my old technique? Not positive what the heck is going on. Played with SA, IO, PLL, VCORE, and just about every voltage I could with no avail. Sold the 470's and bought AMD 6950's and viola almost everything performs flawlessly with a small VCORE increase. WT* is up with GTX's not operating with this board? Nothing at all on this method is overclocked. No love for GTX 470 or 480 PNY, EVGA or ZOTAC. XFX Radeon 6950's are fairly substantially plug and play. Even with the 6970 bios mod they both function perfectly. Spent a lot of time asking yourself if I was just a stupid as*****. What a waste of time. I have utilised Nvidia given that I sold my ATI 9700 Pro. I am loving AMD proper now! Not sure if this is a Intel/MSI design situation or an Nvidia one. Noticed that the GTX's necessary a devoted IRQ which the AMD cards do not. Whoaa, been a lengthy time since I have had to look at IRQ's and feasible conflicts. This is my replacement board for the B3 stepping situation. Had the similar problem with my initial board. Finally had the time to figure this concern out with the second board. I don't believe the flaw in the initial board would have had something to do with this issue due to the fact each boards exhibited the same challenge with GTX 470's른's. Certain would like an answer on this 1.

Straightforward and swift install and setup. Weird bios screens.Affordable IO backplate... the Asus padded ones are significantly far better. It wasn't apparent to me when i purchased this board, but it doesn't suppor the Sandybridge integrated GPU. You will need a H67 mobo... not a P67!

Good searching, OC genie is pretty nice This board came to me in my first develop. Right after spending the time placing it together it booted up, posted initially time, I was excited, then subsequently shut off with no way to reset or turn back on devoid of reseting CMOS. Very Frustrating! I tried a number of things and believed I had it fixed, got Windows 7 Ultimate x64 to Load pretty considerably all the way, then subsequently shut down yet again appropriate in the middle of boot. I don't know what was wrong, but a couple of occasions when it did boot it showed the processor (I5 2500K) hitting a scorching 90 degree's Celcius. Immediately after it subsequently shut off once again I checked the back plate of the CPU, and it was barely warm to the touch. Its just frustrating to get such a hunk of junk for your first create. I have currently RMA'ed the board and look forward to under no circumstances getting a MSI product ever yet again. Great layout, easy install, booted correct up with two sticks of mem installed in blue slots(even although it recommends one particular stick in first slot closet to cpu). The new bios requires a small time to get utilised to(lol, perhaps im just old school). Raid0 setup in SATAIII employing the intel 67e chip was a breeze and performs flawlessly. Overclock attributes on this board are as very good if not much better than any high end board ive ever noticed. Plus it does have the OC Genie for the noobs that dont know what their performing. Also make confident you use a Very good PSU on this board. Its not truly a con, but like other individuals have mentioned only one particular usb connector, no internal esata connector for case front panel. I was seriously hunting forward to acquiring the ASUS Deluxe, but its never ever in stock. Now im glad i didnt, this board delivers as good if not much better functionality for a lot much less dollars. Strong, nicely created board with a lot of area for upgrades. Worked on the initial boot, and I have had problems from there (built with an i7 2600k). BIOS are straightforward to operate with, have a user friendly interface, and can be navigated with a mouse. Overclock Genie and reset button are nice characteristics. Lots of ports for whatever you could use. I wasn't crazy about how the I/O shield fit into my situation, but it hasn't been an issue and looks fine.

Its working. Could use one more USB front pannel. Wanted to give an update about Memory and this board considering that folks are complaining about picky memory. I originally purchased the board but had to RMA it because of energy cycle problems. I have since gotten a new board , placed the exact very same memory in it and everything started out up fine. So did I have a bum board? I'm unsure if that was it or a thing from the memory place it in the Cycle and I just couldn't get out of it? I was a bit paranoid, and ran memory tests for each stick one at a time Ɣx4gb). Other than that although, the board has worked fine, on a stable overcock of 4.5ghz (can go greater, just not pushing it). 3 weeks of no troubles so far. I did modify the energy settings and turned off *ALL* power characteristics in windows as I was finding a random lock in the starting. Following I turned the functions off anything has been stable. The memory was2 x G.Ability Ripjaws X Series 8GB ƒ x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) FYI.

none I used the board for a month and experienced hard lockups about once every day or two even although I wasn't overclocking or overheating. 1 day soon after a number of lockups in fast succession, I decided to update the BIOS. Following the update it would no longer boot. Even though the BIOS would usually show my SSD in the Status screen, it didn't always show up in the difficult drive list. When it would show up and I'd set it to the main boot drive the system nevertheless would not boot from it and the next time I went into the BIOS the SSD would be missing again.Reverting to BIOS 1.8 allowed me to boot once more, but the stability problems persisted. The board takes a long time to POST and shows useless two letter codes in the corner of the screen for the duration of the majority of the POST.The graphical BIOS is awkward, but my new ASUS has a similarly awkward GUI BIOS so I can't ping MSI very challenging on that.Since I switched to the ASUS I have had no stability problems. This was the initial decent board I found available after the Sandy Bridge recall so I purchased it. It couldn't have been a much better MB for my 2600k, easily installed and the OC Genie operates incredible. A single button for an effortless four.2ghz OC. Instructions could have been a bit much easier to recognize. Being the 1st full program construct I have done I managed anyway Highly reccomend. the Bios functions really easily but is virtually obsolete with the OC Genie, unless your going to do some heavy OCing

Incredibly nicely create board. Solid components, and it booted (overclocked even) on the first attempt. Installed Win7 inside 2 min of finishing the physical build.Actually like the power and Rest buttons direct on board. It was usefull through create out and overclock testing. Drivers... MSI's on the net utility is a fantastic idea, but it didn't function for me. I had to get updated drivers direct from Intel, RealTech, and JMicron. I was not in a position to get the method stable and happy utilizing out of box MSI's drivers.AutoOverclock doesn't seem to care about heat!! Hitting the overclock button, genuinely does what its sold as. In reality, I overclocked the first boot and installed Windows that way, just to see if I could. So.. it functions. But its not really good to the processor along the way. Do not overclock a 2600K with the Intel OEM Cooler, it is the worst heatsink I've ever noticed them ship.

Excellent layout, all the functions and slots I need for now and the future Got the board before the whole intel RMA for all 1155 boards, so I got the e-mail about the RMA, and decided to use the board as directed for now. It worked great for a bit. More than time, ended up bluescreening various instances, and at times just instantly powering off, and I naively assumed it to be somehow associated to the original RMA factors.Got the new revision, worked excellent for a day or two, then got a different bluescreen, followed up by continued instant turn offs, and difficulty rebooting. Now it's back where it was in the infinite power loop. That's when I researched it a bit a lot more, and found many other users with the very same issue.Contacted MSI to see what they were carrying out about it, as it is clearly not a random minor issue, and right after getting on hold for ten minutes, was offered the "hey you should be an idiot, try plugging anything in" speech, and absolutely nothing got resolved. Shame simply because the board appears like it would be my preference of the present mobos if it worked This is my first newegg evaluation, by no means seriously felt the require to leave a assessment, but I wish I would have stayed away from this 1 to steer clear of this enormous headache. First, I would like to explain that the principal reason that I bought this motherboard was that it was 1 of the very first revision B3 motherboards released with excellent critiques at the time. With that stated, this motherboard has performed with out a hitch and is operating as intended at 4.8Ghzʁ.320V 24ǝ. But for much more please go to my "other thoughts". The only cons I can see about this motherboard is that it doesn't have as many power-phases as some other individuals. But MSI claims that they are of greater good quality. I haven't come across anything else that would come close to a "con". I keep searching at other reviews saying that they are making use of OC Genie, etc with stock cooling and it's generating their systems hot, or their fans run at 100%. To those people, study how to overclock manually. OC Genie gives you a slight overclock but with a high core voltage that isn't required. You can realize the similar overclock with much less voltage and as a result, less heat. Also, the stock cooler is not meant for overclocking. Overclocking means far more heat, for that reason the ambient temperature within your case will rise. You pay so significantly for a great program, invest a little far more for the appropriate cooling necessary to overclock. Also, I may possibly a been lucky... but I have gskill ripjaws 1600 CL8ƒx4Gb) memory and they have performed without a hitch since put together

Functions with my new Sandy Bridge, USB three., SATA 6 Gb/s, all those other attributes that are listed...Also, the BIOS navigation is terrific, becoming able to use a mouse is a massive plus. Plus there are plenty of alternatives offered for overclocking. Half the time i commence my pc, just before becoming allowed to access BIOS or something, I get an underscore in the upper left of my screen and a number in the bottom correct. Evidently this has some thing to do with not obtaining the hard drive. Soon after 5 or so minutes itl boot up and perform perfectly.
