Im sure for some it will be good. Appears solid. Buttons were fine in there places and overall fit was good There was NO lag playing games and tracking was ideal on Could not get used to the wheel!! (had to be defective) Seemed hard to push down on to get it to operate and occasionally needed 3 or four tries to get it to operate. NOT good when playing a game and that is your run button!!!. Scroling was not straightforward either with the metal wheel finish ,just not sufficient friction on your finger unlike a rubber wheel that is nearly effortless Im pretty positive if the wheel was a rubber type and worked adequately it would have been a keeper and lasted for years.Alas i am purchasing a distinct brand.

•Very comfy.•Good construct high quality. •Included battery didn't hold a charge long.•Erratic behavior at times. I've owned this mouse for quite a whilst, but after the initial few months of use, it lost a lot of its luster. Erratic mousing became the norm, to which I tried to rectify using Microsoft's troubleshooting guide and my personal techniques (moving the wireless router to one more room, even). Unfortunately, it hasn't gotten better. I'll go for a couple of days with zero concern, and then all of a sudden get erratic mousing for a few hours with zero change in environment. When I referred to as Microsoft to get it replaced, they told me it had been discontinued, so also be conscious of that. I'm returning it as we speak for a refund.3 stars to both the hardware (when it performs) and newegg for maintaining invoices simply printable. Off 2 stars due to erratic behavior and necessity of diverse batteries to use on a continual basis.

Good weight and really feel, high functionality, simple to alter dpi on the fly; wonderful to quickly transform sensitivity/accuracy with a press of a button. Just amazing and worth the price tag. Not a real Con, but somehow the mouse installation came with a macro loaded for one of the side buttons- that was an exciting 30 seconds of random keys being triggered. Rapid pay a visit to to the mouse application and deleted the macro, and all is excellent.

Extremely tough mouse, buttons still function well for over a year of heavy use, fits in my big hand perfectly, the thumb button are low, thats the most comfy position for me. fast dpi buttons can be tricky to get to if your in a heated battle, I switch to the lowest dpi when playing a sniper the 2 thumb button are good, I use 1 for crouching and the other to cycle the hand gun in BC2dropped the mouse from my desk to my hardwood floor a couple of time, with no harm what soever

- Reasonably sensitive - Potential to charge even though making use of - Decent quantity of assignable buttons - No USB adapter is required for signaling - The scroll wheel is loud and has far as well substantially click resistance - The shape of the mouse just feels wrong - The material composition of the mouse has a low cost, plasticky really feel to it. - The placement of the thumb buttons is unintuitive and inconvenient - Returning the Sidewinder X8 and purchasing a Razer

- Really comfortable- A lot of buttons- Extremely accurate - Wheel click is way also harsh. Some click is necessary, but it should be significantly less of a click.- Heavy, quite heavy- Some buttons are way too hard to reach. Overall, I would not advocate this mouse for gaming. It will slow you down a lot.

Wonderful mouse, adore the feel, very comfy. Great and lightweight, I like that, DPI on the fly is awesome. horizontal scroll wheel = no complications at all, other men and women i know appear to complain about scrolling sideways when they middle click, with this mouse in my opinion, you can only do that if you genuinely fail. I haven't carried out that on accident when. No tracking difficulties ever. I had a handful of sketchy moments, but that was photoshop, not my mouse, or it was a coincidence ;) I consider it's more of a manufacturer's defect, but my left click is sketchy often. Macro on the fly button is genuinely confusing for me, how to get it to correctly set a macro even though not screwing up your game, is close to impossible. Metal scroll wheel is nice, but not really necessary. Battery life is just fine. The interchangeable feet didn't appear to make a lot of a difference for me, just chose the black ones and haven't changed them because.

Lots of buttons. "Charge-and-play" feature equivalent to Microsoft's personal Xbox 360 wireless controllers. Comes with rechargeable batteries. Texture/feel of mouse and buttons. Three sets of mouse feet of different textures and designs. Wireless responsive and lag-no cost. On-the-fly DPI adjustment. No way to know when battery is done charging. Slightly heavier than I'd like, and no interchangeable weights. "Sidewinder" button can't be mapped to do something other than open the Games folder on Vistaǝ. No true difference in between really feel of every single of the sorts of mouse feet. See other thoughts for much more. This is my very first "new" mouse in about ten years. I'm upgrading from a MS Intellimouse Optical. I had heard that the bluetrack laser tracking has an concern with cloth mousepads, so I was a bit hesitant to get it at initial since I have a cloth mousepad that I've had for likely ten years (Max Payne mousepad = win). Not a single hiccup. I can't tell any true difference in between the different sets of mouse feet, but I wonder if it's because I have a cloth mousepad. Overall very content with this new mouse.

Excellent size. For tiny hands, it may well be as well major, but for other individuals it'll really feel comfortable. The side buttons are fantastic, and the vertical orientation tends to make them substantially less difficult to use. A lot of various DPI settings signifies you have far more possibilities to choose the sensitivity you want, but be conscious that they are pre-determined settings so you won't be able to fine tune from 250 to 300, or 1500 to 1750. The replaceable feet are a excellent concept, but I didn't notice any difference. Other sources state that they are created for distinct surfaces to play on. I use a challenging plastic mouse pad so that's why I didn't notice. Your mileage may possibly differ. The play and charge cable is a great idea, but only when it operates. I'll explain in the "Cons" section. The battery itself is a separate AA lithium-ion battery. It's not proprietary so you won't be stuck when the battery goes totally dead and wasted. It's quick and fluid in motion. Excellent as a gaming mouse or for imaging perform like Photoshop So why am I given this mouse such a low score with all the stuff I stated in the "Pros" section? It's due to the fact I've currently been through two of these mice in the past month, and both of them had issues that needed a return. The initial one had a problem with the scroll wheel and middle-mouse click. They didn't operate. They wouldn't register in any game, and the tilt buttons wouldn't even click appropriately. I sent it in for a replacement. The 2nd mouse I got seemed to operate fine. Till I had to recharge the battery. The play-and-charge plug would attach to the mouse, but it wouldn't recharge the battery. I would literally have to pinch the mouse and plug in order for the recharge light to turn on. I left the mouse alone with the plug attached for a day to see if it recharged anyway, and it didn't. I returned the mouse to Newegg for a refund. As you can see, my expertise with this mouse wasn't a excellent one. The middle mouse didn't perform and the charge plug wouldn't recharge the battery properly. Of course, I'm just 1 person, and others who have this mouse really like it. For me, this is 2 for 2, and I'm not going for a third. I know the battery itself is a separate lithium-ion AA battery, and I can merely switch batteries and charge the old one particular in a separate charger, but I got this mouse especially because of the play-and-charge. It seemed like such a good concept. Your experience may be very unique from mine, and you could enjoy this mouse when you use it. For me, it just didn't function as advertised.

The mouse is fashionable, and fits perfectly into my hands. I went from working with an old mouse that came with my pre-built to this gaming mouse and the difference was instantly noticeable. The X8 is possibly the greatest mouse I've ever owned. The precision is best-notch, and the DPI-On-The-Fly buttons enable me to change the speed of my control in genuine-time, surely one thing you want handy while gaming. The X8 comes with the typical software package from Microsoft, which, upon installation, will let you customize your mouse to your liking. In there you can modify the clicking sensitivity, pointer sensitivity, and even adjust the settings for the 3 DPI buttons beneath the scroll wheel. For gamers that want to be allowed to have a mouse that performs well in various scenarios in-game, they really should certainly verify this out. I go by a motto: Nothing is perfect. This saying is true for every single device in the globe. As such, you will in no way see me give out a five egg evaluation. The Sidewinder X8 has a handful of noteworthy flaws that I believe must be taken into consideration prior to those reading this evaluation pick to obtain it.1st off, the mouse is rather huge. For these with bigger hands this is not going to be a difficulty; for these with smaller hands, you could want to think about a thing far more suited for your demands.Secondly, the two buttons on the left side of the mouse (able to be assigned to any key you want) are incredibly easy to press. This can be both blessing and curse in-game. If you hold the mouse a particular way you may possibly uncover oneself pressing those buttons a lot, which can cause issues if you didn't intend to.I've also noticed that sometimes my left-click button will double-click on its personal. I've attempted to change the sensitivity, but it doesn't enable. Even so, this is an Extremely uncommon occurrenc Try not to be thrown by the cons. Any mouse you appear at (especially for gaming) is going to have a couple of concerns. The point is to look at these problems and make a decision whether or not the rewards outweigh these problems. The Sidewinder X8 is an awesome device, and I don't regret my obtain one bit.Other points to take note of: The mouse glides smoothly over any surface, which tends to make employing it really feel far more natural than with most other mice I've owned. There is also a modest but easy to read screen that will either display your battery power or your current DPI. The screen is red, as is the charging light (it is perfect for the Sidewinder X4 Keyboard, which has red backlit keys). The potential to pick amongst wired and wireless demands to be included on additional mice. I've had zero difficulties with the play and charge function, and I love not having to swap batteries. The battery life is unbeatable, clocking in at 20-30 hours depending on what you're doing. Absolutely a thing to take into consideration.

Huge size for my huge hands. Button placement is good. Some are a long reach but that's a very good factor for the Macro Record button so you don't hit it on accident. The macro software is good but I don't use it. You can only map a handful of buttons. Following trying it on many computers, it seems to function ideal with newest versions of Windows.Heavy, but I like that. There's no optional weights like in the typical Sidewinder Mouse. It's a little lighter but I got utilised to it.Outstanding battery life. I totally charged the mouse overnight and I've been working with it for two weeks already devoid of a recharge. The package says 30 hours of battery. The charging cable is magnetic so you can pop it on and off very easily and use the mouse though charging.Extremely responsive. No lag from the wireless. None whatsoever. No interference from other electronics. Coming from the regular Sidewinder Mouse, this has a slightly more affordable feel but nothing you won't forget about soon. The scroll wheel is metal which tires out my finger. But it's textured so you have a great grip. I was worried about the wireless like some other reviewers stated but I have not had a single difficulty with it. The receiver is just a few feet away - inside reach if the battery ever dies. Haven't found a way to see the remaining battery life. The mouse has an on/off switch on the bottom but I don't bother to turn it off at night. I feel it goes to sleep on its personal anyway. The BlueTrack LED is extremely brilliant. Don't stare into it. Interchangeable feet if you like that kind of issue; I discover the regular feet operate fine. Just discovered out the scroll wheel has tilt.If you have massive hands and like a heavier mouse, you can't go incorrect right here.

Well this mouse is amazing and it better be if I'm spending ์ on a mouse. It is the most responsive wireless mouse that I have ever observed. The fit of this mouse is really nice. So numerous other critiques stated that the design sucks but I appreciate it. The macro technique on this mouse is actually stupid. The mouse will make macros on its own for no purpose even though this is uncomplicated to repair. Wireless does not perform as nicely at 10-30 ft but its fine for internet browsing. The tracking program that operates on something but glass and mirrors only works on flat surfaces. a couple of minor troubles. none that bother me anymore. good mouse. best wireless mouse ive ever observed.

I've got a wide variety of mice -- the RAT 7, the MX 518, the G9, etc. -- and I had toyed with acquiring an MS Sidewinder, but usually went back to Logitech. I necessary a very good, wireless mouse that could recharge itself in the office, so a single factor led to yet another, and this flashing-red-and-gunmetal gray issue landed on my desk. Nice, not too plasticky, great/large size, good tracking, nice magnetic recharging method (and usability although it charges is a plus). The negatives aren't too important; I am not thrilled with the two buttons exactly where my thumb rests on the left side of the mouse (they're page back/forward buttons). Otherwise, it appears quite solid. I don't adore it but it has a decent weight and not also ghastly to look at.The flashing red (near the left-side thumbrest and below the palmrest) are super-chintz, but some folks dig that sort of factor. Excellent thing I've got a Cosmos S 1000 case parked next to my desk (which also has a red-lit theme). A little overkill but not also-as well undesirable. My Win7-32 machine appears to be a little slow after the MS 'ware created its way on here, so I'm hoping a reboot addresses that. The less MS ware on this machine, the better. I like the reality the battery can be recharged/replaced and that you can operate the mouse though performing so. Appears like a decent item. Not as out there as the RAT and not as solid in feel as a Logitech providing, but diverse clicks for distinct people ;-)

Quite, easy DPI switching, fits in my hand nicely (but I have little hands).. /shrug I've also gotten exactly where the mouse will glitch around the screen even when plugged in and completely charged.. just started happening within the final couple days and I've owned the mouse for two months. Particularly frustrating. Other than that and not getting in a position to program some of the buttons its an ok mouse. Wish it had come with weights.
