Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit
Cons:None really, works as expected (which is saying a lot from previous versions)

Pros:It Windows, it's not Vista, good 64 bit OS
Comment:
Well, it's Windows 7. If you want to go for a MS operating system it is the best so far imho. Best purchased as OEM for less than $100.

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit
Cons:- None that I can think of

Pros:- Very stable- Nice graphical interface- Everything installs wonderfully after this OS is installed
Comment:
I've installed Windows 7 for 2 builds now and all I can say is that once installed, it works like a charm. I understand XP is old but when I tried installing it in one of the builds, it had problems detecting the wireless for some reason, despite me trying to activate it and finding the right drivers. As soon as I booted Windows 7, everything installed perfectly without any hassle. For an OS that is more resource heavy than XP, it runs pretty fast.

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit
Cons:Not XP, Costs money, no 16-bit app support

Pros:Not Vista, Not Vista, and Not Vista
Comment:
Windows 7 is basically the replacement for XP. Vista doesn't exist as far as I'm concerned and Windows 8 is only for touchscreen gadgets. Performance and reliability is excellent compared to XP, and I only have to reinstall every 2 years or so (the way I use my computer) as opposed to XP reinstalling each year or more.

I'd take Windows 7 over Vista any day. So far it's working great and I'm sure the SSD drive, quad core CPU, and 16 GB of ram help big time ;)

Comment:
God I think I used 100 of them if not more so far. I have never encountered any problems installing it on any machines. Easy to get around OS and quite eye pleasing lol.The OEM version is the way to go in my line of work. I think I can safely say the Win 7 has been the most compatible OS so far. At least for me anyways.

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit
Cons:Gotta turn off all the useless eye candy.

Pros:It's Windows, so it is easy to find software (often free), to do anything you want. Very stable.
Comment:
Most of the eye candy is distracting and doesn't serve any useful purpose. I got myself a good reference manual to guide me in turning most of it off, thus making Windows 7 more functional.

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit
Cons:* none, unless you have philosophical objections to Microsoft or you are a Linux nerd :)

Pros:* Easy to install* Best version of Windows yet* OEM version is economical
Comment:
This is quite simply the best version of the Windows OS to date. This is everything that Vista should have been. Nice clean interface, super easy to install, more efficient use of resources than Vista. I think I like 7 even more than Win2kpro, and it feels like the same kind of leap forward from XP that 2k represented over Win98.I currently use Vista on my desktop and 7 Starter on my netbook, and it was ok, but not all that impressive. Then I got 7 Home Premium for a friend, and now I know that when I next upgrade I'll be ditching Vista for 7 (unless 8 is out and better). Some minor flaws were its' questionable designation of the old hard drive in the computer as the 'system' disk, with no real workaround or way to make both a system disk, resulting in some annoying 'insert  bootable disk' errors, and having to install twice. If you're installing this fresh on a new drive in a machine with other hard drives, I'd suggest unplugging them before doing the install.

Cons:micro$oft, bloated slow

Pros:Widely supported
Comment:
Picked this up for my new build. My new system is twice as fast as my old one. Windows will be super fast, right? Right? First program I installed was antivirus, did a scan, 115,000 files on a fresh install. At least I managed to skip Vista.
