This OS takes all of the nifty concepts in Vista and makes them perform. The 64-bit version, especially when given a decent setup, flies through any application, both 32 and 64-bit.If you're not positive about Ultimate, I would say it's worth it if you have any interest in native encryption. BitLocker runs efficiently and quietly, and locks down anything. Nevertheless has a few minor bugs, but common updates address those.

Cheaper than retail, and runs exactly the identical for most users. OEM... It signifies you can't More than-clock or swap out your CPU... Microsoft gets angry when you do that and decides to BSOD you. Wonderful for most users. :-)

No difficulties with this version of Windows. I suggested WindowBlinds computer software though for full customization of UI :-)Read on... This "con" is my own stupid fault seriously for not having accomplished investigation very first ahead of obtaining but it turns out for everyday pc use/gaming (even hardcore gaming), Ultimate is a bit of an overkill. The capabilities you get in Ultimate (vs. Household Premium) are not needed for most typical computing. Acquire Residence Premium if you are just an typical pc user/gamer.

looks nicer than previous Microsoft OS'shave to upgrade sooner or later onto the trending MS bandwagon just to use future software program etc inside 2 weeks this WIN7 Ultimate piece of garbage has crashed my pc a lot more than all linux distros i have ever used plus winXP combined in a period of 6 years+runs games slower than xpBSoD's truly bad this is a 100% genuine evaluation all believed i dislike MS items I am becoming fair and honest in this assessment.way far more crashes in two weeks than xp crashed in a 6 year time periodi have a brand new three.two quad core custom built AMD computer by the wayi believe the majority of the crashes have to do with adobe flash player plugin for Mozilla firefox. the plan itself must crash at best not the whole OS. its always a BSoD for this rig

UDA (Universal Driver Architecture) is a Enormous win for Microsoft. 7 is amazingly superior. The install time is really swift. So significantly quicker than XP. (I refused to use Vista.) It's use of method resources is fantastic. I love the XP compatible mode. Though most men and women won't use all the functions in Ultimate, being a networking student I will at some point discover use of most of the added crucial characteristics.I have been custom constructing computers for 15 years and repair other persons's computers for ten years. This is the first OS that even in Beta version had a pretty solid platform. Now that I have upgraded and have the full RC version I couldn't be happier. There are a couple of very minor issues I have run into. I have not had a crash but even though. Even though I have thrown at this OS in 1 week than your typical user would in an whole year. The couple of minor glitches were in a position to be resolved and didn't turn into concerns at all. I'd rate this a 4.9 for practically best if I could. Nicely worth the upgrade if you are constructing a new method. When you get a new method, dual core or far better, it is definitely time to upgrade your OS as well.System:HP DV7T-2000 CTOT6400 two.0GHz (Q9000 quad-core laying in wait to upgradeƞGB DDR2 800MHz Dual Channel1-500GB Western Digital Scorpio Black (will ultimately get a 2nd and go to RAID , but want a drive caddy too)ATI 4530 Graphics (ordering a 4650 soon)Blu-rayFingerPrint Sensor17" LCD 1600x900, HDMIeSATAWin7 Ultimate 64-bit(Happy me...)

The software program arrived in it's original packaging and did not seem to be tampered with or opened. The plastic casing the DVD was in was cracked so though opening the bubble wrap package, plastic pieces from the case came falling out. It's probably not an issue with Newegg so a lot as it was an problem in the course of shipping but I was disappointing it wasn't in a box instead of a bubble wrap envelope.

It works. Simple as that. I was reluctant to make the transition up from XP, specially soon after Vista. But I am content with Windows 7. I did not do my investigation as considerably as I would have liked in hindsight. Ultimate and Expert are identical, minus an encryption software. So save a little dollars and just get Win 7 x64 Skilled if you dont want Bitlocker. very good transition up from XP. And enjoying the 64bit

If you're looking for a version of Win7 and don't mind not getting Microsoft Technical Support, then get this.I was a small wary when I was looking at purchasing this. I didn't know if the licensing was special or came with restrictions. So far, I haven't had any complications. None, actually. Not having Microsoft Technical Support doesn't matter when you've by no means referred to as it to start with. If all you're wanting is a copy of Windows 7 and want to get the most out of the OS, then get this. It's a full version. There's no bulk software program loaded. You can upgrade or do a fresh install. There's no restrictions on it.The only caveat is that there is no Tech Support. So, if you're utilized to being the Tech Support and don't mind not calling Microsoft if you have an concern, then this is what you're searching for.

-Clean interface-Easy Install-Stable-Now with hardware support! (unlike Vista)-Use of Libraries -Some incompatibility with old games and utilities (though there are visualization workarounds) Moving from XP to 7 was amazing. Installing XP usually took an hour or two, mostly acquiring and installing drivers. 7 began up right away, to my absolute delight.

Comment:
I intentionally never transition to a new operating system until after they release the first service pack. Fast forward to my latest build, and with a new SSD the install went very fast and without any issues. Still had a mess of updates to download, but nearly as bad as I recall I went through with Vista. So far I've been pleased with the speed and stability of Win7.I suggest that people put off activating their copy of Windows until they have finished 'tinkering' with their build. Adding or removing a card might trigger a reactivation, so wait until you are sure you have your hardware the way you like it.

At initially, I was utilised to XP a lot, so the jump was a small bit uncomfortable. Now it's been about 7 months given that I've utilized Win 7, I can confidently tell you 7 is certainly much better than XP. Considerably far more stable, significantly additional secure, looks considerably nicer, and much more functions too. Recommended for confident. Just mainly because the OS is so new, there will be unsupported hardware that XP utilized to support. The list is nonetheless fairly brief, but if you do have one thing unsupported by Win 7, maybe it's time for you to upgrade. I have a 10 year-old Creative Audigy Sound Card installed in my PC and Win 7 discovered a compatible driver for me proper away.

Nicely, there are rather a couple of of pros. Far more pros than I thought I'd be obtaining.1. Extremely clean and sleek UI, even additional so than Vista.2. Somewhat fast even on slow machines. Don\'t forget how Vista runs like a dead weight until you at least install the SP1ɹ. Actually beneficial new characteristics. Aero Peek, pinning applications on the Taskbar, automatically re-sizing and aligning windows, thumbnail previews...the list goes on. These functions not only appear nice on your eyes, but in fact beneficial and enhances typical user expertise.four. No glaring crashes or BSOD. I have yet to expertise a BSOD for the final year of usage. BSOD is something I must have observed numerous times already if I were working with an XP or a Vista. No items are with out their cons, and Windows 7 isn't an exception. On the other hand, most of the issues I'm about to list can be expected to be resolved as far more people adopts Windows 7 and 64-bit systems and support from other software program and hardware vendor improves.1. Old hardware does not work effectively. Hardware technologies is always at least 5 to 6 years ahead of software technologies, so I guess this shouldn't be an concern to too several of you, but make sure if the hardware you require to use is supported by Windows 7 as there's a excellent opportunity it won't be.two. A lot of drivers are either unstable or missing. Most of the drivers you download will not be as robust as the ones for XP and you might have to deal with hardware crashes more usually.3. Mandatory program requirement has gone up, so if you're a extremely casual user, you may well have to buy additional hardware. I have been utilizing Windows since Windows three.1 era, and I need to say Windows has come a long way since then. Immediately after the disastrous release of Vista, I think Windows 7 is a step in the direction for Microsoft. As someone who dual boots Windows and Ubuntu and runs a Linux server, I'd in fact like to give Microsoft some credit for trying challenging and get it right for the initial time due to the fact they released Windows XP.

I could'nt pick no matter if 32-bit OS or 64-bit OS to install on the installation process. Excellent thing I know how to install a 32-bit Windows 7 Ultimate out of this 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate OEM without having spending another 170+ bucks.@;~p)=D
