Mushkin Enhanced 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM Dual Channel Kit Memory for Apple
Cons:More expensive than other options

Pros:Works with older MacBooks
Comment:
After trying 4 different sets of RAM from NCIX and returning them all because they didn't work, these specific Mushkin sets were the only ones that worked on my older MacBooks.Ordered 2 sets and they both work perfectly on my 13-inch Mid 2009 MacBook Pro and my 15-ince Mid 2008 MacBook Pro. Beware of the similar spec Corsair models, I tried 2 sets of them first and they caused both computers to beep on startup and OSX wouldn't initialize (bad RAM).

I popped the 8GB into my 3.06Ghz MBP Pro 17in and it just worked. Now I can give much more memory to the VMs operating under VMWare Fushion. Can't inform any speed difference from the 4GB shipped with the machine. None so far

Comment:
Price; capacious (compared to 4G). None for me. Was worried I'd encounter some compatibility problems as other individuals have talked about, but none encountered. Installed fine, booted up, memory recognized, all is nicely. Parallels runs all my VMs quite smoothly now. Wish hardware supported 16G of SODIMM.

Can't go wrong with 8gigs of ram no matter what method. Can be pricey. Put this in my Mid-2009 Macbook pro. Works excellent. VMs can run with out causing huge slowdowns now. Even though they still take forever to start off up.

Performs. Seriously quick shipping, shipped from New Jersey to Toronto Ontario (Canada.. I hope that was apparent) in 2 days. And it was totally free! None It's apple ram - generally only 1 variety performs with your rig. So it's down to if the ram is faulty or not. And mine was not.

Installed in a Imac I7 cpu, 27inch. Purchased imac with typical 4gigƒgig per slot) setup. Popped these into the 2 empty channels. Mac booted correct up and recognized the further ram. This is the least costly route to increase machine to 12 gigs. Total time of install 3 minutes at most. None System profiler shows ram running at 1067MHz. Great stuff

Cheap - considerably cheaper than the next closest vendor. Apparently cheap for fantastic reason! Installed in a 2010 17" MBP. Even though it was recognized and my method did boot, I started operating in to segfaults in one particular of my VMs. memtest showed a large quantity of bit errors with the new memory - swapped back to my original 4gb configuration, and all tests ran clean. I'll be switching to a diverse vendor for my replacement 8gb kit. Manufacturer Response:Greetings, Please get in touch with me at nick@mushkin.com or 800.569.1868, extension 103. We will gladly get you a replacement kit at no cost to you. Thanks!Nick SoutourasRetail Sales ManagerP: 800.569.1868 X: 103E: nick@mushkin.com

Cons:First set was bad

Pros:ValuePerformance

I have a 2010 13" MacBook Pro. First set did not work, but NCIX's RMA system is completely painless. The next day I got a replacement set of RAM and now it works great. Performance is so much better when I have many apps open. I would recommend this product for the value, but I would highly recommend you purchase these through NCIX for their second to none service!

Good value, great assistance from Nick@Mushkin, prompt shipping Does not function correctly in my mid-2010 MacBookPro 15" with Core i5.I get poor screen flicker and tearing, much more so when making use of the integrated Intel graphics, a bit much better with the nvidia becoming active.

Now I have an iMac operating at its complete possible right after purchasing two of these sets (៤GB). More affordable than Apple OEM ram Not Apple OEM, but I knew that prior to acquiring.... Received my replacement set from NewEgg. My 1st set was causing Kernel Panics. I haven't received a Kernel Panic but; knock on wood! I am fairly happy with the item; if it doesn't give me any difficulties by my next spend check I will be obtaining two additional sets.

Blazing fast and I don't seem to have any issues with my Macbook, but when running memtest86+, I keep getting errors. I'm leaving it as is for now since the price was so good, but it's worth noting.
