These switches work wonderful until they die. Netgear will replace them. All of the failures occurred on earlier versions of the item (v1 & v2). Thus far my v3 replacements have been working fine. I've got 3 of these as of last night all of them have died. In all 3 instances the switch would just cease working. The power light would remain, but the attached devices stopped becoming recognized. Following the failure, the switch would make a humming noise.

This switch worked good though it lasted. It worked reliably until it went the way of the GS108. It died after about two-years in-service component time (used regularly) ... very same as everyone else, it blinked lights and stopped switching network targeted traffic. The serial number rubbed off the bottom and Netgear support refused to honor their "lifetime" warranty simply because there is only a half-legible serial number because their serial number sticker printing sucks. 5-egg item when it works, 1-egg for "lifetime" warranty. It's a GS108v2 ... which is now known as "unreliable" by the community. All I want is a replacement ... I have a photo of the switch (with half-legible serial) in front of the Newegg invoice ... but no dice with Netgear support.
