Received this little puppy, had it installed in minutes - just had to pull cables from my main 24 port switch and insert them into this guy. Any port can be used to connect to another switch or router - it will automatically detect what is connected on the other end. Just keep it from other heat sources as it does get a bit warm, and needs to be kept somewhat cool. Otherwise, works great!

Very solid, high quality switch. You won't be disappointed unless you need more than 8 ports. Highly responsive and does everything advertised.

Takes no time to set up. Works as soon as plugged-in. Doesn't seem to get hot, only warm. Do wish the eth ports were still on the rear, like the NR041 from days gone by, but it's not a big deal. This switch is worth the orginal price, and an even greater value when on sale.

I have 3 computers, printer and my game console. Performance was terrible trying to use my as a media extender with my old hub. Easy set-up and now all my devices are running faster and media extender rocks!

My new PC has a gigabit lan card and I needed more ports on my router to attach other items so I figured I would give this a try. Well all I can say is the speed from my pc to the drive connected on this router is just great. This switch has 8 ports in a small area which is really nice.

It's a switch, plain and simple. If you are looking to replace a 100Mbps switch in your office or home, this is a great value for the increase in speed. Pros- Small footprint, wall mountable, autouplink Cons- Wall wart power supply

The unit is just the right size for our home network. I just plugged in the network cables from the various rooms and everyone was happy with the performance.

Works exactly as it should - took it out of the box, plugged it in to my home LAN and my DL speeds more than doubled! My old router was a speed bottleneck; this new Netgear router solved that problem.

I've had mine for about two years now. All eight RJ45 ports in use from day one.. It occurred to me that I have the thing on and running for over a year and a half straight without powering down or resetting anything. It has never given me any problems, ever.

The product performs as expected, giving flawless switching at very nice speeds. I have it switching my two desktops, the older one a WindowsXP that I use as a file and print server, the newer one a Windows 7 AMD Phenom II X4 with a solid state raid. I had to add a gigahertz card to the older machine. But it is difficult to tell whether I'm accessing a file on the Windows 7 machine or over the switch.

Unfortunately, the GS108 v2 I received was defective; it spontaneously resets itself, even if nothing is plugged in to it. Thankfully, the Netgear support/RMA process was very easy. I registered the product and received an RMA number within 10-15 minutes of my first (and only) call to Netgear, and was never on hold longer than 30 sec. I have enjoyed flawless quality with dozens of consumer and backbone Netgear switches for the last 10+ years--this is the first failure.

I bought this switch almost a year ago and since then, it has worked perfectly with everything on my 1000mbps network. All I had to do was plug in the power cord and run the ethernet cords from my computers to it. Highly recommended.
