- troubleshooting computer software identifies exactly where in network concerns are arising so you're saved some troubleshooting actions in the method of obtaining the network back up- openDNS integration permits filtering of network traffic based on categories such as social networks, adware web-sites, adult content material, "time wasters", and so on.- guest network functionality- wifi protected setup- bandwidth monitoring and restriction selections- mac address filtering automatically detects devices connected to network and fills in their mac addresses when you pick them- stateful packet inspection firewall- DHCP server enables static IP address assignment to specific devices on the network- secured or open NAT filtering - no alternative for restarting router in firmware- port triggering rarely if ever works This router puts out a powerful and steady signal. Complete bars no matter where I go in my home and in the two months that I've owned it there has not been a single instance of dropped signal or dropped web access. The new characteristics (Genie and OpenDNS integration) are quite helpful/useful. The GUI is a lot additional responsive than it was on my old Rangemax. Overall I would say this is a good router for advanced users that need it for property or tiny business use.

I have had this router up and operating for about 10 months now and have had no issues at all. It has fantastic range and does not drop connections. Set up was straightforward and this was my very first wireless router config. The firmware update was easy as nicely and it functions well with my VOIP set up as effectively. None This seems to be a very good entry level router for property networking with decent range and very good connection speeds. I connect with 1 laptop at 300 and the other at 270. For the price this is a excellent purchase!!!

Easy set up with Wi Fi security single button an your hooked up... Computer Printer all single button connect. Quickly when set up in perfect location and configured Range is pretty substantially the exact same as my old and I mean old super G two walls and 30 feet drops signal sufficient to slow rates... connection is extremely dependant on signal strength. DA..... So unles you have a sturdy (all bars) signal don't expect significantly in speed improvement more than G get it located appropriate and configured for maxx streaming you will rock a steady 280 with no drops. my netword drive is happy though if I shed powes or reboot get mutiple ip's for folders. will need to set static ip's.

They have currently been noted Not a lot more can be mentioned It isn't a 3700 series. The traffic meter is not enabled in this unit. following 1.5 years of being plugged in 24ǝ my REFURBED unit is still running. No down time except for a handful of days spent moving and a couple of firmware updates. Absolutely satisfied with this unit.

Ver two Supports DD-WRT You will need DD-WRT On this thing if you want a decent wireless signal, The Internal Antennas are garbage...Don't even get me started on NetGears Tech Support, Some Lady That could hardly speak english and did not know what the heck I was talking about...I am bringing it back to the retailer and exchanging it for a linksys, the E2000 Linksys appears excellent and also supports DD-Wrt...

Wireless N, uncomplicated to set-up, looks great. Some evaluations claim it lacks it bandwidth compared to much more high-priced routers. I promptly flashed it with DD-WRT and it has worked flawlessly.

Effortless Setup, Quick Speed, No Brain surgery necessary to setup security either (Thanks to NewEgg & UPS for the awesomely quickly shipping too!), blew "Burst Obtain" out of the water in regards to price. None (yet) New owner, but as long as this router keeps cruising along like it is, I'll be a pleased camper.

SUPER Effortless SETUP!!! Reportedly thousand time additional trustworthy than a Belkin by several folks. Haven't discovered any however. Had a Belkin N Wireless Router that didn't final 8 months. Wasted the morning with my cable corporation and finally found it wasn't the Modem, but rather my relatively new Belkin had bit the dust. I required to get up and running so I couldn't wait to order from my trusted Newegg so went to WorstBuy and grabbed an additional 1. The Belkin N was half the expense of the Netgear so once again I fell for the low value and bought the Belkin. Wasted yet another various hours attempting to install and talking to help in a foreign country and then driving back to return it. I will under no circumstances waste my time with Belkin EVER once more. Plugged the NetGear WNR2000 in and WOW, took much less than 30 seconds and totally functional. If you knew how a lot of unique settings the guy in "support" had me altering to attempt to get the Belkin to function, it's awesome my personal computer even turns on. There's totally NO comparison between the two. Comcast is the very first 1 who told me to go with Netgear for reliability. I'm a think

Modest form-factor, straightforward installation. It operates, technically. Slow. My Linksys Wireless-G router has given me two-three times the speed via wireless. I applied my computer systems internal Wireless-N, and even purchased a Wireless-N adapter just in case. Loading websites was slow, net speed tests had been in the single digits, and frequent disconnects. On the web gaming was definitely impossible. I did not acquire this from Newegg, but shop here regularly.

Works nicely with my son's 4th gen Ipod. He's amazed with the wireless functionality, so I'm glad. I purchased the refurb for 25 bones w/-five promotional code, so yea, I got a excellent deal! None I hooked it up following copying all the settings on my sbcglobal modem and my linksys router and applied every little thing needed, less then half the stuff I copied, to this router and win7 produced all the rest of the changes. I got rid of all default settings and enabled safety for the wireless and it works very well. Will be hunting for these in the recertified section again, that way I'll have a spare. Heck, I could just pay full value considering that it functions real nicely from jump street.

Appears stable.. I've only had one particular challenge so far. Other day I had an matter with my Kubuntu/Linux X64 Pc connecting to it. I disconnected the router, then plugged it back in to reset. I was then able to connect only to find that signal would intermittently cut off from time to time. Even though it was undertaking this, I checked the router and positive enough the lights weren't green letting me know that the connection was lost. I reset the router five times that day, I was ready to RMA untill lastly I realized I ought to give the power button a shot rather of just disconnecting the power line. It's worked considering that with out any a lot more difficulties. Who knew this could be so touchy?.. I will update if I have a lot more difficulties but for now I'm happy. Kinda annoyed that I didn't go with the higher model.. Gigabit connection for my server.

Some thing that has plauged quite a few routers is a horrible UI, and restricted control more than your choices.I should say this blows my old belkin out of the water. The Portforwarding is so significantly much better, and less difficult to use.I can toggle Nat on or off (along with the additional layer of NAT they supply) This is huge for many several gamers.Nevertheless have the old DMZ approach which is effortless to use, and the finest element it basically keeps the IP lease rather of randomizing it all the time. All in all excellent router! Front display isnt as data friendly as the belkin, but who cares when its constantly operating! The vertical stand is really really stable

Cheap, wireless N, looks nice Minimal features. There is where the three stars comes in. Some computers appear to hate the high speed setting. I'll test my connection utilizing the "Up Leading 145Mb/s" setting and regularly have 12Mb/s when testing on a speed test web page. On the full speed setting ("Up to 300Mb/s") it goes down to 1Mb/s. Clearly there's an concern there and it seems only a few computer systems in the house have this concern. I've tried changing basically every little thing in the router without accomplishment so I've stuck with the default 145Mb/s setting and have been pleased overall. My friend has the very same router and her whole apartment has had related concerns with painfully slow connections though that could be a user configuration error.

Very good speed and range. I like the characteristics like assigning static neighborhood IP's. The lifetime warranty was what specifically attracted me to this right after having purchased 3 Linksys routers die in the past three years (having had 1 replaced under warranty). The UI on the management page isn't fantastic. No firmware updates in the past year. I see a tab for monitoring bandwidth usage, but it frustratingly cannot be enabled or hidden.

Good-excellent speed, long range connection (located in basement with desktop, get very good connection even in second floor of my house) Simple to use configuration web site. Consistently having to reset connection. Anyplace from when a week to several times a day. Initial setup was a pain, had to start again more than a dozen times (instructions were terribad), but lastly worked. I didnt get it from newegg :(. When it works I've gotten nearly 10mb/s down, and almost 1mb/s up on test websites. When its not operating, it is listed as a connection to an "unidentified network" and must be reset manually, requiring a walk down to the basement from wherever I am.

Simple setup for novices, has a powerful signal that reaches all areas in my home ƒ floors), solid reliable wireless router (doesn't crash), automatically checks for firmware upgrades, excellent characteristics at a low cost (แ.99), guest network isolates wireless clients from your LAN. I had no difficulty achieving wireless N speeds close to 270MB. At this cost, I don't really have any main complaints. My only minor criticism is that I would like to be in a position to Block Services by each IP Address and MAC address. For a lot of years, I only purchased Linksys routers for their performance and reliablity. I uncover this generation of Linksys N routers to be disappointing in signal strength and reliabilty. I discover Netgear wireless N routers to be feature wealthy, straightforward to use, and dependable. Netgear releases much more firmware updates for it's routers than Linksys. They don't abandon fixing buggy wireless routers like Linksys. I now only get Netgear wireless routers.

Router setup pages are nicely layed out. Wired connections function very good. Faulty unit. Wireless connection only had a range of like 20 ft and would cut in and out even at full strength. Also took like four attempts to connect. Generating alterations to the router settings took a while to save immediately after each and every change. When utilizing the supplied disk and clicking on the on-line manual it links you to a page that says coming soon. Returned product and went with another brand.
