I had nothing but trouble with this adaptor. I thought since I was connecting to a Netgear Wireless G Router, it would be fine. But we constantly (like with just a few minutes) drop off the network. I'm using this on an XP Gateway Desktop.

This adapter is working under Ubuntu 7.10 using ndiswrapper and version 1.3 of the Windows 98 driver. I didn't want to buy refurbished but the price was right, building is my hobby, and I get a kick out of components jiving with legacy hardware.

I've been using this for about 4 months without any problems. My only complaint is that it didn't come with a CD and had to download the drivers before installing it. I'd also recommend that you stick w/ the windows software instead of NetGear's to manage the wireless connection. Other than that, great bang for your buck.

I got one had same pobs as everyone else found out that you have to go into power management and make it so that windows doesn't turn it off to save power. Prob fixed, works great on vista but XP 64 bit forget it netgear says not enough people use 64 for them to write drivers for it. what ever. Good product for the price just limited to your normal internet connection

Don't buy unless you enjoy being frustrated. It occasionally works but not very often, Like evryone says it says connected but won't bring up a web page, then someties it does.

This device will connect fine but will randomly drop the connection. The only thing that can be done is to disconnect and then connect the usb plug. I tried new drivers from the Netgear web site but couldn't get them to work. I would not but this again.

Works o.k. once you get the correct download from netgear. For WG111v2 download the software labeled Ver 1.4.0. The other choices will not work.

One of the best and easiest to use wireless adapters I have seen. I have put together three networks with all kinds of computers, Dell, Gateway and eMachines. Windows 98 thru Windows XP. They all work fine with this device. Just install the software FIRST. Then install the device. Just follow the instructions on the CD.

Just got it. Tried to install it on my notebook and I had to go online to get a Microsoft Hot Fix. That would be ok if I had internet service. that is why I got it for, to hook my notebook up to my home net. I went online with other computer and in order to get support you have to register the p-o-c. and the S/N on the adapter isn't a valid S/N. the price is cheap and that's all this p-o-c has going for it. DON'T BUY IT

It worked fine for all of 6 hrs, overheated and then stopped being able to handle any DNS requests. It stayed connected to my router, ran applets like Weatherbug, etc but lost the ability to resolve any domain names. I suspect it is a problem related to the rather extreme heat of this little device. The client software reported 'Scanning', a permanent inabilty to find the access point even though Windows knew it was connected.

This unit installed without difficulty. Just go to http://kbserver.netgear.com/release_notes/d103125.asp to get the driver and install it first. They don't send CDs although they refer to them. It has alot of bang for the buck and its 2 less bucks now than when I bought it last week.
