Excellent energy supply, appreciate it becoming modular... What I like about it being modular, is having less cable clutter. I would have like for them to consist of 1 or 2 SATA connection cable along with 3. Connecting only one device one a three connection cable makes cable clutter. But this is not adequate to take an egg off.

The modluar notion is actually a very good one for a case that mounts the psu on the bottom. I purchased a storm sniper case for my sons birthday and realized his 500w psu that was getting used in the leading mount config wouldn't function, so I pulled this out and the cables were plenty lengthy enuff. Hey it worked out of the box and the major red l.e.d fan matches his case.......what more can you ask for? Not poor for getting a spare hanging around and that was due to the sale of this psu. I saw it, I snatched it up. Can't beat the cost I paid plus f/ship. None. If you have ever applied a modular psu before, then you are applied to how they work and the pro's and con's of them. I do even so prefer them in instances that mount psu's on the bottom. This looks truly great in a storm sniper case. I have an ole 4870 in there and until my son whines about it not being sufficient, then this will power a 6970 very effortlessly. Or a 6950......or any factor in the single card config. So far it's working........I'll get back with you if it stops. Hopefully soon after three years.

Really quiet, good red LED, Great power distribution, modular :D Actually excellent price. snagged it when it was almost a steal...despite the fact that... Didn't get the rebate! see other thoughts. I don't like how the primary cpu power isn't modular. you'll have one cable sitting about. The cpu power cables are a bit short too..don't anticipate to organize them very nicely, or tuck them. All of the cables are too brief for that. Sent in for the rebate as soon as i got it, ordered it back in october, filed for the rebate, in no way got it...OCZ, where is it?? It says you in no way received it, but i know you have it laying around somewhere. An additional firm starting with a G gave me my rebate almost instantly... Manufacturer Response:Hello, we aplogize for the rebate difficulty. We will be pleased to contact the rebate house to follow up on your rebate, and will see that all valid rebates are paid. Please email rebates@ocztechnology.com and consist of your full name, address, item, and date and spot of obtain. Thank you

Comment:
The built top quality is truly good, and getting a modular PSU makes cable management straightforward. The small bag that come with it to put any unused cable is actually good. I have an Antec case with the PSU mount on the bottom, and the cable length makes it hard to connect to the motherboard mainly because THE CABLES ARE TOO Short!!! Rather of running the cables behind the motherboard like my old PSU, I have to run the cable across and over. This makes my wiring look messy, and restricts air-flow. This is most likely the worst and most hard PSU I have ever worked with. If your case have the PSU mount on leading...you ought to not have to worry about my problem.

Comment:
A decent, economical and mostly modular PSU. While I am not making use of much energy, its efficient enough that he fan hasn't had to turn on however and generates quite small heat. The red back light is not intrusive. Its not completely modular. Permanently attached are the 2x12, 2x2, and 2x3 plugs. Presumably most individuals will use all of them and then some but for myself the 2x3 is superfluous. For this I would only knock it down half an egg. If I required a different PSU, I would purchase this 1 again.

Digging the cables. Wonderful quality covers over the wires. Pretty cool red led on the fan. Its not too bright, nor too dark. Great at night as it bounces off my wall. Its not all that loud as well. None really. The manual could use some far more explaination as it is only 1 page of info (for a person installing their very first PSU), but other than that, absolutely nothing. Wonderful package, fantastic led, powerful fan, not too loud. Great PSU for a mid range gaming comp.

Cons:Very minor: connectors are a bit difficult to remove

Pros:Very Silent! Modular

Easy to install. Very very silent. Quick turnaround on the rebate too. The connectors at the power supply were difficult to take off (I only had to do this once though so not a big deal). Would absolutely recommend.

OCZ Fatal1ty Series Power Supply - 550-Watt, PCI-Express, SATA, ATX
Cons:The actual manufacturer of this PSU is Sirtec. They're a solid manufacturer, but not as good as Seasonic, Antec (high end ones) or Enermax.

Pros:Very nice modular power supply. 80 Plus certification is a bonus. 2x 6-pin connectors (one is actually 6+2 pin), and both a 4-pin and 8-pin ATX power plug is nice. Lots of SATA connectors (6) although 8 would be ideal for me.The PSU looks nice too.Like other OCZ PSU's, this one is very quiet.80 plus certification means that it needs to be at least 80% efficient at 20%, 50% and 100% load. In practise, it is VERY similar in power consumption to the ModXStream Pro 600W but does consume a couple fewer watts when consuming less than 150W:http://tech-reviews.co.uk/reviews/ocz-fatal1ty-550w-psu/4/
Comment:
I absolutely love modular PSU's, and for myself, I would never go back since I like changing parts often and modular PSU cables are easier to manage since you only use what you need. The LED light in the fan is a pro or a con depending on your point of view. I use it in my test system, which is all tricked out with LED's on the PSU and RAM.

Bought this for a budget I3 system and so far so good. I havent been to trusting toward OCZ PSU since 2 of them have died and taking half of the PC with them within 2 months of purchase but those where Modstream models. Fatality seems like a solid model so far...crossing fingers ;)

OCZ Fatal1ty Series Power Supply - 550-Watt, PCI-Express, SATA, ATX
Cons: Mail in Rebate is a prepaid Amex card.

Pros: Efficient modular PSU
Comment:
Bought this to replace a dodgy PSU in a computer that is on 24x7. Easy installation, with modular cabling system helping to avoid clutter. Significantly more efficient than the 3+ year old AOpen 350W power supply it replaced - the UPS indicates approx 15W less power consumption (= savings of ~$15/year for a computer running 24x7), which quite surprised me. Pretty red light for those with transparent computer cases.

Cons: - 8pin CPU power cable is a bit short, especially for systems where the PSU is bottom mounted.

Pros: + quiet+ modular+ cheap
Comment:
Bought this on sale as a backup and just recently installed it in a system.Excellent quality, low price, only one problem. For the PC I built the 8pin CPU power on the PSU was actually too short and I had to use an extension cable.

OCZ Fatal1ty Series Power Supply - 550-Watt, PCI-Express, SATA, ATX
Cons: modular cables are very stiff

Pros: Modular, Nifty red fan, cheap
Comment:
Bought this to replace a PSU in a dell desktop. The modular feature was nice, as it helped reduce some cable clutter, and the wattage was adequate. Price was excellent after rebate.Only gripe is that the modular cables are EXTREMELY stiff. It made routing the cables effectively difficult, as I couldn't twist, bend, etc. like I usually do.

Couldn't pass up the deal with the MIR, $30.. not to bad. Does what it needs to do, nothing overly exciting, powers my i5/460 with no issues. This would be a bare minimum, if your thinking over using SLI id start at the 750 range.Red LED i guess can be a pro/con depending on who uses it.

Great modular power supply. Bought to replace my aging Antec Neo HE which was also modular. Just as quiet as the Antec but more stable, actually eliminating a high pitched idle chirp that occurred with my motherboard. The RED led is not overpowering even when lights are off.
