Cons:Too Tall!

Pros:Best bang for buck without a doubt.
Comment:
Dropped my i5 load temp by at least 15C. However, to make this heatsink/fan fit in my case, I had to make modification to by case door fan.

Cons:Pain in the ass to mount

Pros:Great value and performance
Comment:
This HSF is an excellent value for any overclocker. I recently mounted this on my Phemon II 955BE and I was able to overclock from 3.2Ghz to 3.8Ghz and my idle temps only went up a few degrees from 31C to 34C. No complaints about the performance or value of this item.On the other hand it was a bit of a pain in the ass to mount because of it's size and the attachment of the 120mm fan onto the HS. The unit really crowds my first two ram slots and I have very little clearance there now, almost touching my ram sticks. In addition when mounting on an AM3 socket the unit has to force air up or down instead of side to side so it may go against the natural flow of your case air flow. I have a decent power supply with a 120mm fan in it so I'm pushing the air up so the PS can push it out and I don't have any heat problems but just be aware of the limitations.I mounted mine in an Antec Sonata II case and it fit the case fine (I had to remove my air flow director thing but I never used it anyway.)

Cons:Very tall.

Pros:CHEAP! Very solid cooling performance.
Comment:
Installation was pretty easy. It may get pretty tight with the motherboard attached to the case. As for the performance, it keeps my AMD Phenom X4 955 running 4.0ghz a 1.4875 running cool.

Cons:- Marketed for AM2 LGA775 S939 S940 S754 until they design and sell a bolt thru kit for this model.- Does not come with backplate or retention bracket for 1366 or 1156.- Pain in the but to install the fan with anti-vibration fasteners to the heatsink.- Push pins for 775.

Pros:- Good cooling for its sale price.- Comes with a PWM 120mm fan.
Comment:
Good heatsink especially on a boxing day price. If you install the thermal paste incorrectly on the HDT heatsinks they tend to give you higher temps. Check your temps. The only gripe I have with this heatsink and other similar products of the like are with the rubber anti-vibration fasteners that you attach the fan to the heatsink. Though they cost more I still like my thermalright 120 over this.

I bought it with a great price. It is worth every money I spent on it. However, it is very hard to install on the motherboard, I don't want to install it anymore. I give it for 4 stars due to hard installation.

Bought on boxing day sale! 11.99 + 10.00 rebate. Can't beat that price. This is my first CPU heatsink. It's also my first time installing one. I bought the Xigmatek ACK-I7361 Crossbow bolt through kit - Didn't want to use the pushpins as I didn't want to worry about the heatsink bending motherboard or comming lose.. etcI also replace the fan with a Noctua NF-P12 fan- it's quiet and performs better than the one that came with the heatsink. Also using Arctic MX-3 thermal paste.Installation was simple and easy. With a little bit of reading and suggestions on how to apply thermal paste from the NCIX forums :)I haven't tried any other heatsinks and so I cannot compare them but so far the temps are telling me it's working better than the stock Intel heatsink!! My idle temps are around 18 - 20C and my load temp at around 28-35C (stock settings).

This cooler works great. I got a bolt-thru kit because I didn't want to worry about the dumb press-pins coming undone. But this thing is HUGE. I had to remove my side fan on my Antec 900 to put the side back on. Make sure to check that your case is big enough before buying.

J'utilise ce refroidisseur pour mon processeur I7 920 avec la bracket supplémentaire OCZ TFORC2V2. Ce refroidisseur est encore très compétifi et probablement imbattable pour le prix demandé. Un très bon achat à recommander.

Pros:good coolingcheapquiet
Comment:
i got this cooler to replace a stock phenom 2 550 cooler, unlocked to quad this processor was making way to much heat for the little cooler, this vendetta2 dropped the temps easily 15 degrees C (the pc has very low air flow) and is basically silent compared to room ambientinstallation was a tad tricky in a small case, i installed the rubber mounts on the fan for the one side i had very low access to and used a butter knife to pop them onto the heatsink, then the other side i mounted the rubber on the heatsink and used needle nose pliers to pull the rubber through the fan

Cons:Size

Pros:Performance, Price, Quiet
Comment:
This heatsink definitely did it's job, bringing my temperatures down from 40C to 30C. It did it while running the fan at 1k rpm, which was whisper quiet.Compared to the Xigmatek S1283 I have running in my other system, the workmanship of the Vendetta 2 is better; the fins stayed put while the S1283's top fins came loose. Also, the fins on the V2 didn't manage to turn my hand into bacon which the S1283 tried very hard to.The onnly thing to watch out for is the height on this thing. With my mid tower, it's actually hitting the side door. Still works great.

Cons:- The fan was DOA (dead on arrival)- The installation wasn't too smooth- Not all 3rd party fans are compatible

Pros:- Price- Performance
Comment:
Well I originally requested for an RMA, but since I have to fork out the shipping, I am not going to bother. This heatsink is only $1.99 AFTER REBATE. I might as well use my own fan. However, only some fans work. My regular Cooler Master sleeve bearings or my Silverstream fans don't work because the pins cannot be pulled. In other words, fans that don't have hidden screw holes would work (For example: the Scythe S-Flex or an Arctic Cooling F12 non-Pro). Right now, I purposely installed it wrong for the time being (fan on top instead of bottom because the pins don't work on my Silverstream fan), the CPU still cooled about 3-4 degrees from stock, but I expect to see something better once I get a new fan.

Cons:-PIN SYSTEM IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE (it will bend the living crap out of your motherboard)-The fact that OCZ is too cheap to give you a decent mounting kit will tick you off.

Pros:-Good Price-Cooling/price ratio is great
Comment:
There isn't anything wrong with the heatsink itself or the fan installation. HOWEVER, the mounting system is a freaking nightmare. DO NOT BUY this if you plan to go through hell bending your motherboard while installing the heatsink.I literally have 10+ cuts on my hands atm. They should really warn you by saying: buy a proper mounting kit or you're SOL. SOOOOO...1)Wear gloves2)Buy a mounting kit3)Push pin system = dumbest thing ever invented.

Cons:push pin system are annoying and flimsy. Get yourself a Thermalright LGA775 bolt thru-kit for better contact and stability.rubber grommets are a pain to install

Pros:very good cooler for the price. Not heavy (600g) or bulky that it intrudes on RAM slots or norhtbridge.Silent fan
Comment:
Cools my e8400 OC at 3.6ghz at 32oC/43oC idle/load. For the price of 30 minus the rebate this is exceptional cooling for the price. One of the problems I encountered was installing the rubber grommets on the fan. When they are new they are pretty stiff and wont go into the fan holes easily. So you need some needle nose tweezers to pull them through little by little.

Cons:Make sure your case is big enough. Rubber fan mounts bit tricky.

Pros:Looks very cool :-) Installation on an AMD board was very easy.
Comment:
I bought this but didn't put it in right away after reading so many stories about a difficult/tight/tricky installation. Finally had enough time to not be rushed but found that for an AMD board (Phenom II X3 720) the installation was the same as the stock. I guess the pins, etc. is for Intel only. I just put the hooked up the holder, pushed the handle over and the fit was good and tight. The rubber fan mounts were a bit tricky. Put them on the fan first, and needed a bit of pressure/coercion to slide in to place. Like the system once on though. This review was modfied by poster @ 11-06-09 07:18 AM

Pros:Great coolingStock fan is very quiet
Comment:
I replaced the stock fan with the Scythe Ultra Kaze 2000rpm and I'm currently idling at mid 30's with mid 50's being the load temps (when stress testing).I'd also suggest getting the retention brackets for this heatsink as it helps prevent any warping on the motherboard. Also, it is important to note that you'll most likely have to remove the motherboard from your case before installing the retention brackets + heatsink. All in all, great product and it keeps my q6600 (3.2ghz) cool so I have no complaints. Great heat sink. I'd ignore the MIR since it's only 5 dollars and you have to factor in a stamp and the time it takes to complete the form and try to get your money back.Having said that, the only other thing I would strong recommend is to get the screw in back. Get it at the same time b/c the pushpins on mine was not very good. 1-2/4 would become loose pretty easily. When I got the mounting kit later, I had to take out the motherboard. So, definitely get it at the same time as the heatsink and you can do it all at once!

I just installed this today and I am really impressed... I have an M2N32-SLi Deluxe Wireless and an Antec Sonata III case and this fit perfectly (Only using 2 of the 4 ram slots, not sure if it will fit if 4 are used). I had an old 80mm heatsink and previously my 5600+ CPU was idling at 62C and under load around 65-70C... and it wasn't overclocked at all! I noticed however that the computer case wasn't hot at all and focused on one area, the cpu, so the airflow may not be as good on the case...Now it idles at 42C overclocked to 3.08 GHz... The 120MM fan really makes a difference in moving the hot air out of the heatsink... I'm pretty sure I can still OC it higher if I get a better case and/or add a top/frontal fan...
