If you are writing to/Reading from a Slow Drive then this drive will not appear to be quickly. If you writing to/Reading From a USB three. drive then you will notice its speeds!

In the course of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit install, I chose the option to install additional drivers, choose them on the USB stick, then selected the RevoDrive as the install disk. Install went flawlessly with no difficulties. Soon after installing Windows updates, I rebooted and overclocked to four.2 GHz. Couldn't get it to run stable previous four.two GHz, but at four.2, it is rock solid stable. Been running for nearly a month now through a number of reboots, and so far no problems of any type. It's a small pricey for a RAID- of two 60 GB drives based on latest rates, but this is offset by the truth that it is treated as a single drive for warranty purposes, and has a fantastic warranty. If you have the money and genuinely want to see some performance, a PCI-E RAID card with battery backup and cache with two SSDs connected in RAID- would give better performance. But, if you are on a budget and you don't want the "hassle" of configuring RAID, then this is a good solution. If somebody desires to do a related program, I recommend you get some thing more quickly than DDR3 1333 memory. That was the weak link in my overclocking knowledge with this system. I just could not push it beyond that 1,333 MHz, and to get to four.2 GHz on the CPU, I had to underclock the memory to 1,200 MHz.

This tough drive is amazingly rapidly. I reinstalled Win 7 64-bit ony my Pc, and it boots up and shuts down quite swiftly. Previously, my windows practical experience score was five.9, with my HDD bottlenecking my system. This SSD maxes the test with a rating of 7.9, the highest in my method. Applications open virtually quickly, and performance has been greatly enhanced. Installation was a breeze, just make confident your mobo is compatible, and install the drivers through windows installation! Price per GB is quite high compared to classic HDDs, but with the release of the RevoDrive X2, the initially-gen version is not as well terrible. Setting up this drive was a breeze. Like a couple of others I also had my worries about being in a position to use this as a boot drive but I had definitely no problems with it.It has a 7.9 WEI score which boosts my general score to 7.7 from a earlier five.eight. There's a incredibly noticeable improvement in just about every thing from boot instances to opening applications and loading comprehensive maps into CS5 to playing games like WoW (I don't even see the loading screen when hearthing to Dalaran :D). I really feel like my Pc is finally at balance with all its elements and none are bottle-necking every other. If you have a higher finish system but are still employing HDD's you will not regret this acquire. Price tag, but that's to be expected with comparatively new tech. Fast boot and shutdown with Windows 7 64. Installation was quite straightforward. Shutdown may possibly be also quickly. This drive has information corruption concerns on shutdown with my Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R motherboard (Listed as compatable on OCZ forum). This causes frequent boots with chkdsk. OCZ customer service suggested that the Revo SSD could be defective. Newegg replaced the drive and the corruption dilemma was nevertheless present. I have tried the ideas provided by other individuals with the corruption problem on many forums with no accomplishment. The drive does not seem to be compatable and is not returnable.

Simple to put into pc and a neat concept. Also really light weight and compact.... Ok now I am just searching also challenging to discover pros. Fast... IF it ever worked. I have spent the far better portion of the previous four days in a position to roam about the bios menu and windows installation. This is as far as I am able to get. As soon as windows is installed is exactly where the exciting, or lack there of, begins. My MSI Huge Bang Xpower board must be able to boot from the drive, due to adding the new update, but it gets completely nowhere. Right after the boot begins and the checks are accomplished, it black screens and a blinking underscore is all that is observed.I took the time and even installed linux on a usb drive and checked the sectors there. The very first a single I got had 416 undesirable sectors (Bought elsewhere), the second one particular I got a couple days later had 576 negative sectors... Anything just does not add up here, if I send the initial one particular back I would hope the second 1 would be better. Apparently there was a miss communication someplace and I got a worse a single. This could potentially be an incredible drive, for these who are in a position to get it to function. For those like me, it just does not function. I must have just stuck with acquiring a sata SSD for my boot drive. I strategy to get one particular for the boot and maintain this a single in hopes of employing it as a game drive (which was the main purpose for getting this drive, along with being a boot drive).(I have gone to a great number of forums in the past 4 days, the very first day I got it I spent 6 hours scouring by way of numerous games coming up with approaches for it to work. Needless to say we identified out every single achievable way for it to fail, and none to succeed. Since then I normally commit about four hours or far more a day Trying to get it to work.) Crazy rapid! installed just like a typical raid controller as far as bios or windows care. had to download drivers to get windows to install (nothing key). Also had to rebuild the array to get windows to recognize it correctly (also no major deal) nevertheless somewhat pricey, specifically due to the fact they're competing against putting 2 normal ssd's into raid. Quickly there will be more rapidly possibilities... but brilliant for now!

Quickly, silent, straightforward to set up. Stretching the use of an old Xeon machine, this drive offers 15s power on to desktop prepared. Tests show it runs at 488MBs, 3x the speed of the U320 raid that it replaces, amongst 4-5x the speed of single drive. Dell precision 670 Xeon 3.eight, 6g Ought to make certain the drivers are accessible through install as OS won't see it. Win 7 pro 64 located driver updates in the course of patching. Directions packaged with unit are fail. The unit gets warm/hot and in my machine the double wide Video card was practically touching and the memory is on each sides of the card equally. I used silicone vibration dampers to space the cards by 5mm so card cage fan would present sufficient airflow.

Installed on Asus 790 / 785 evo (amd) boards - Just need to have these ahci drivers (amd) on a usb stick. When unpacking the Bin files on win7 set up - give it time - takes a long time for some reason - I stopped the set up twice very first thinking install had hung - third time I just let run its program (about 30 min). Now two months out runs great - no hicups at all. The ocz tech support was terrible - they wanted me to send the card to them for resoldering. I dont believe they know what they are carrying out. Was a tiny hassle setting the dual 55gb as a single non mirrored 120gb on raid manage settings at booth up. Soon after that it was very good to go.

Quite basic installation. Even though my mobo was not on the list of confirmed boards, I contacted Gigabyte and they stated that it must be fine. Ordered the Revo and had it installed and operating a fresh copy of Win 7 Pro in no time. I love the fact that this drive is quickly, has no cables, no moving parts, and so on. I believe that they could offer a small USB key, or CD that has the different drivers required on them. Also, I feel that it would be ideal if they provided the directions which are identified on their Forums for installation. Significantly the ideal way to install. Do not listen to the price per Gig garbage. You want this, you will not care how a lot it cost. Just get as big as you can!P.S. If I were MaxPC I would rate this as a 9 Kicka$$s, not an 8. Just due to the fact Gordon @ MaxPC can't hack it doesn't mean you can't.

This card is extremely quickly. Install is a little a lot more involved than a standard HDD but honestly, isn't that to be anticipated and don't you all know that going into it? Load the drivers onto a flash drive, install them at the starting of the Windows install, Windows sees the drive as usual. That's it, it's that easy. Speeds are just as stated on the box, I benchmarked this drive most likely 20 occasions and got constant speeds as advertised. None, despite some folks saying unfavorable items about it. This drive is solid, the majority of individuals getting troubles just don't know how to use it. If your MB won't help it or doesn't assistance booting to PCIe, don't knock the SSD for that. If you can't figure out how to correctly install the card and drivers, don't knock the SSD for that. I had a comprehensive install in minutes without having a hitch. The only challenge I would see with this card would be for those of you that received it DOA, otherwise, SOLID.

rapid, win7x64 boots from drive, No cable clutter, performs fine with video in very first x16 slot, Revodrive second x16 slot on EVGA x58 board, with a raid card in the š slot. You could get quicker with an costly hardware raid card, plus two or ideally far more sandforce drives. But you would be spending a lot more funds. next generation sandforce is just around the corner - so these are almost certainly going to be on sale soon

Scary quick and no troubles with installation. I thought that I had struck the challenging drive mother lode and was thrilled. Corruption concerns raised their ugly heads immediately after about 2 wks. The Revo WILL have troubles with some motherboards due to the way power is managed to the PCI-E slot. I have the 0803 BIOS and I have tried each and every tweak OCZ has suggested. I have erased the disks, rebuilt the RAID and reloaded Win7-64 twice. The corruption usually returns. Maybe ASUS will redo the BIOS, maybe not, but I doubt that the Revo is faulty. It is probably just not compatible. As for now, I have deleted the Raid and have 2 fairly quickly 55GB storage drives in this personal computer. I had to lose the Revo RAID mainly because I use two Raptor 74GB drives in RAID as the boot drive and the Revo won't let you have an additional RAID. I really can't give a high rating to a product that won't function in my system and "rushman," I do know what I am executing. There are several compatibility lists that people have compiled, but I would say, don't necessarily think them all. My P5E3 ran like a maniac for over a week ahead of corruption began--at 1st, and after every reinstall. If a fix comes out, either from ASUS or OCZ then I'll put the Revo back in action. If not, I'll use it in a future construct. Advances in technologies are frequently not painless.
