Fast! I have been with 7200 RPM hard drives up till this point. In no way GOING BACK! Time will inform how lengthy this will last.Bought a SATA II, different brand, mentioned to be 200mb/s and this blows past that!Shows as a 7.9 in Windows Index. Took a complete day to install it appropriate. Had to read in a forum that when you install the drives from a USB, you have to retain it unplugged till you need to have to install them, then unplug it right right after. It will just loop Windows install.Only likes getting in the 1st PCI slot. Zero mobility.Cant say if I'm obtaining advertised speed yet. Do your study. OCZ had a list of mobos that were compatible and with which bios version. That paid off major time!I went with this SSD simply because my mobo doesnt have SATA 6 and I didnt really feel like settling. If you dont have SATA 6, go with this.

Extremely quick. Faster than a traditional SSD even. This + Fresh Install of Windows 7 = Boot to Windows desktop in much less than 15 seconds. A small far more difficult than it really should be to the motherboard to recognize this as a boot drive. The directions were a excellent assist, but occasionally when overclocking if I fail an overclock the motherboard will default to SATA connected hard drive as the boot drive. Hardly a con, a lot more an inconvenience. AMD 1090T + Asus Crosshair IV Extreme

Comment:
Quick... ridiculously quickly. Immediately after upgrading to an i7 setup, every thing was getting choked by my 7200RPM HDD. Soon after upgrading to this Windows 7 starts up in much less than 10 seconds, and I can commence going as soon as I press enter (my old drives would take forever to initialize Windows following logging in). Roomy adequate for almost everything significant (using it as a boot drive and for important applications [VS2010, Adobe CS5, and so forth.]. Speed blows me away every day. Setup is just slightly harder than with a normal drive, but OCZ made it truly simple to load the drivers on Windows installation.Pre-RAIDed so no TRIM support (but making use of it as a boot drive indicates I'll largely be carrying out reads, so I shouldn't see as well substantially of an overhead). Installed on an EVGA X58 FTW3 motherboard no dilemma (didn't even have to update the BIOS).

Install and loading Windows 7 was very straightforward making use of the instructions included and downloading the drivers from the OCZ web page to a thumb drive. The ASUS bios 񡻍) recognized the card as soon as it was installed. The Revodrive ROM message was displayed upon boot and the OS was read off of the CD drive like normal. The rest of the install was as described by quite a few posters here. So if you are contemplating the ASUS M4A89TD PRO/USB3 and the Revodrive they do appear compatible. I am making use of a WD, 6 Gb/s drive as my secondary drive and like everybody else have remapped as substantially as achievable to this drive. None so far. This was a fresh install in a just assembled program. The speed is impressive. I hope I can say the exact same issue in 6 months.

Great SSD. Wonderful Price tag. Rapid Speed. NONE! You need to check to see if your motherboard can handle booting from "Other Devices" or PCI Express. Make confident you have the latest BIOS update. I've installed 2 of these so far. The 1 I purchased had no challenge reading from any of my four PCI Express slots. The second was my dad's card. At very first it wouldn't read the RAID but then I changed the slot from the second PCI Express slot to the 1st. The only reason I can think the card only reads in the 1st is since he had a ฮ MB. All Possibilities in the BIOS had been set so that it could read from the Second Slot, but no dice. My recommendation is get a motherboard that supports SLI or Crossfire. If you do it really should perform in the second, third or fourth slot.

Difficult to say what the Pros are given that I couldnt get it going. 1 con is that i can\'t return this item for a refund. But the Main con i have is that i just couldnt get the sucker to function. It is SUPPOSED to be bootable but no matter what I did, I couldnt get Windows 7 on it. Tried OCZ's forums and updated my mobo bios and even sacrificed a lamb to Intel but no great. This product ought to have been delayed in its launch to the market location till OCZ was much more specific that it could be utilized with little or no hassle. The cause I say so is since through my struggles and on-line research to get this issue to operate, I got the impression that several people are having the exact same situation I have with this item I guess i will try to use it as a non-boot drive and see if it'll work that way. possibly I will have a PRO comment then Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry that you are having issues. Ridiculous speed when moving massive file. Toys with gigs of information like they are kb. Relatively uncomplicated setup when you cease listening to everybody saying what you can and can't do.Boots in seconds (around 15). Took my only pci-e slot (not genuinely their fault). Cant have my Raptors in raid with it (again not their fault). I have an older technique with an M3A78 HDMI and a Phenom 9850 in it and when I posted that I wanted that to use the Revo in an OCZ forum even the OCZ guys stated no way...and but right here I am!!!! It took about 1 1ǘ to get it carried out,had to change my bios and disable raid and Ghosting 80 gb to it took much less then 20 minutes from a single Raptor. Everyone who has been performing this for a even though must know there are some bumps in the road when we break new ground, don\'t forget your initially SCSI array? Not precisely a walk in the park proper. I just wanted to post this in case a person was thinking, but not confident regardless of whether to get it. Fastest factor I have added to my quad machine to make it blazing quickly. It was not negative adding it and works fantastic as Windows 7 boot drive. Windows 7 boots for me now in less than 30 seconds. None really so far. Possibly size due to price. Constantly a lot more space on an SSD drive would be a plus. This replaced the boot drive (physical tough drive) in key machine that has 8G mem, Quad Intel, WD Black drives, etc.The distinction it produced was amazing. By no means had a machine so quick. Exceeds all other SATA SSD drives I have place in other machines.I would get teh RevoDriveX2 for my next construct for confident!

This drive is simply remarkable in how it eliminates read/write performance bottlenecks for my process. I am working with Win 7 and installation, startups and shutdowns are rediculously quick. I use my personal computer largely for flight simulation, and have noticed load instances decrease by a element of 4 over my old sata ii ssd, but everything from browsing to photoshop, and workplace run instantaneously. A little pricey for the quantity of disk space, but still the best investment I produced for my new rig. Make sure you download the newest driver from OCZs site, installation ought to be fine right after that. Also, it's Incredibly crucial to make certain you update windows 7 appropriate away afterwards. There was a bug with the Revo drive blue screening after windows resumed from sleep mode. This was not a Revo Drive difficulty, but a windows delay write problem. Updating will correct this. Finally make sure your motherboard has the latest bios if it is not a newer board. 3 out of five eggsRating: 3ǛP5E3 Premium+Revo 120Pros: Scary quickly and no difficulties with installation. I thought that I had struck the tough drive mother lode and was thrilled.Cons: Corruption difficulties raised their ugly heads after about 2 wks. The Revo WILL have difficulties with some motherboards due to the way power is managed to the PCI-E slot. I have the 0803 BIOS and I have tried each and every tweak OCZ has suggested. I have erased the disks, rebuilt the RAID and reloaded Win7-64 twice. The corruption generally returns. Possibly ASUS will redo the BIOS, perhaps not, but I doubt that the Revo is faulty. It is in all probability just not compatible. As for now, I have deleted the Raid and have 2 fairly fast 55GB storage drives in this computer system. I had to lose the Revo RAID simply because I use 2 Raptor 74GB drives in RAID as the boot drive and the Revo won't let you have another RAID.Other Thoughts: I actually can't give a high rating to a item that won't function in my method and "rushman," I do know what I am see above Does the new firmware appropriate the above difficulties??

Difficult to say - installation of this unit brought on my program to hang at the BIOS Boot screen. Well, very first and foremost, if I had had any idea the number of problems individuals have with respect to compatibility I wouldn't have bought issue. I have an Intel DH67Cl, Core I7-2600K with 16G and Level ten RAID. The OCZ folk had been sort enough to appear at the issue and essentially I was told "the following motherboards will not function with Revo, Revo X2 and IBIS: DH67GD, DH67BL, DH67CL, DH67CF, DP67BA and DP67DE"It turns out that there are also all sorts of matter with RAID and Revodrives, and really nobody can say with any confidence that a specific configuration will operate. So, if you can\'t discover documented proof that the exact configuration of your method has been shown to function with Revodrive, stay away. I mean precise configuration motherboard, tricky drives and peripherals.I hope Newegg will be sort enough to refund some of my cash at least. All in all, it would be nice if this sort of nonsense didn't take place. Either one thing is compatible or its not. If it is so hugely technique precise, vendor need to but a loud warning label to the impact that such goods are not, in fact generic like graphics cards, etc.. Effortlessly attains the advertised transfer rates (I tested with ATTO and hit 500MB+ per second). Looks amazing and has great blue LED indicator lights. Little enough to fit in my Lian Li Pc-V350B mATX case. Windows 7 x64 boots faster than I can pour another cup of coffee. On sale b/c it's gen 1 but that's fantastic adequate for me! The onboard RAID may possibly not play well with a pre-current firmware-based RAID. If you currently have a mobo-based RAID you may well will need to give it up (I did). It has to do with pumping each sets of solution ROMS into BIOS at boot (limited NVRAM space).I actually got each RAIDs to function simultaneously but only if I didn't load the SATA controller - which would have meant no DVD drive. This is not OCZ's fault so I still give this five eggs.Due to the fact this card sports an onboard RAID 1, it can't support TRIM. Supposedly speed will degrade with time but I nonetheless believe this is a excellent item and an innovative version of SSD. My mobo isn't listed as compatible but with some time and patience my BIOS recognized the OCZ RAID and now it operates perfectly. It's an older mobo and doesn't list PCI as a boot alternative in BIOS but it located this card after I played with the SATA/RAID boot alternatives for a bit. I took the 趸 gamble and won.The final upgrade to my workstation!Asus P5N7A-VM GeForce 9300/nForce 730i mATXIntel Q9650 @ three.3ghz w/ Corsair H50Thermaltake Extreme Spirit IIA-Data Supreme Series Ɣx4GB) DDR2 880MHzOCZ RevoDrive x4 120GBtwo x WD Black 640GB SATA 3.LG Black 8X BD-ROMLG 24" 1080p LCD

Tried XP but did not install on the Revo at least for me. It froze. Critical to put prevoius drive on SATA plug 2 otherwise a conflict with two windows attempting to open at the identical time bluescreen. So rapidly, thinking I made a mistake ordering components for a new technique Issues, not cons: As a major drive, will it last? A lot of references to it slowing down more than time, so need to have to discover how to generate an image vs. a basic backup of the drive to do a format and restore if that occurs. This concern is motivating me to set up an on the web back up as properly - long overdue. Thinking of making use of crashplan. The firmware on the Revo is the most up-to-date for now.

Windows 7 loaded onto the drive with no dilemma. I am getting serious stability issues with the Revodrive and the motherboard resulting in frequent and random BSOD. I had earlier posted that the MB and revodrive were compatible but right after trying my very best to load the rest of the hardware drivers et.al. I have concluded that their is an inherent instabilty concern with the Revodrive and the ASUS M4A89TD PRO/USB3. Fastest mass storage architecture at a reasonable value I like OCZ solutions and this is not directed at their item particularly, but any PCI-e-based SSD. This architecture is simply not ready for prime time. There are too quite a few difficulties connecting a mass storage device to the PCI-e bus at this time. The primary dilemma is energy-down of the bus prior to completion of disk activity, resulting in chkdsk at practically just about every power-on. There are function-arounds, but I feel that there are just too quite a few Windows tweaks and such that make working with the device a chore. Hopefully, future motherboards and Windows 8 will be developed to seamlessly accommodate such devices.
