Comment:
Quite, very rapidly. This was a great investment that I was reluctant to make and now can't image going back to spinning ferrous for OS. I totally underestimated the joy of this drive's performance. I don't know how considerably quicker it runs programs, but it loads lightning rapid and easy upkeep tasks like scanning drives for viruses, loading computer software, defrag and such are really fast. I can load programs now in seconds rather of minutes. Windows is up in a few clicks. I located the install really difficult, having to discover all the tricks for the PCI-E install. Took very a though with a lot of forum assist. Could do an additional in a couple of minutes though. Just new strategy. Wow, I can't image going back. I've mirrored this drive onto a SataII and start off-up takes many minutes the old way and as soon as you get to the "fireflies" with this drive, it's up in about 2 seconds. I've practically maxed out the readily available 110GB on extensive plan loads, so I hope I can go the distance with out needing a lot more space. I'm sure I can delete some of the bloat, if necessary. Love this drive.

Scores a Windows Expertise Index of 7.9 on Window 7 64 bit Household Premium, really effortless to install and set up, just download the driver from OCZ and when you go to install windows click LOAD DRIVER and point to it (I utilised a USB flash drive.) Also require to tell the BIOS to use it as boot drive (shows up as a RAID drive.)Every thing loads super quickly on this drive, no stuttering either like older ssd's. none. Comes with a swift-commence guide, all the details I required to get it up and running

Outstanding throughput and insanely low latency. If you are undertaking something that is heavy I/O, this will clear up that bottleneck. I have an SSD drive that doesn't compete, but I'm also on an older X38 motherboard. Speak about bring it back to life. Ought to have gotten a larger 1 and put my OS on it to start with.

Fast, that is all you will need to know. None I utilised Acronis to Clone the drive. It created it bootable automatically. Soon after the image, you disconnect your main HDD and your new SSD runs the show. Make confident your BIOS is set to SCSI or look for the Silicon drive sort. Great to go.

Set this up as the boot drive with a Sandy Bridge system using ASRock P67 Extreme6. I have 6850's in XFire and have the Revodrive in the 3rd PCIe x16 slot Ɣx electrical).I loaded the driver during Windows 7 install and every thing has worked as expected. It takes a few seconds to get to the Windows 7 desktop immediately after the BIOS has finished. No driver included in package. I had to download it from OCZ's internet site and put it on a thumb drive. It's rapidly. I haven't bothered with benchmarks since I have SSDs in sufficient other systems to know they are fast. And, according to OCZ, it's not the finest notion to entirely fill a new SSD with useless information.

Installed in a new GA-X58A-UD3R as the primary drive.Immediately after post, Win7 64 is up and running in ten seconds.Quick, really quickly. New technologies, I had some Win7 install concerns but cleared them by removing the X-fi sound card. It was causing the BSOD and I required to have a USB stick prepared to load the REVO drivers to get it running once again. Read up on istalling this drive when making use of it as your main drive. I have a SATA CD/DVD for the Win7 install and USB thumb drive for the initial driver install when loading the OS in the advanced setup.Early internet-search directions can be complicated and could not apply but the brief instructions that come with the drive worked properly for me.

This drive was uncomplicated to set up. My Gigabyte X58A-UD3R recognized it without having any problems immediately after loading the driver from a USB stick. Windows 7 installed in record time and within moments I was up and operating. Programs install so rapidly on this factor it is practically instant. Massive programs such as Adobe Immediately after Effects or Photoshop with a lot of plugins start in about two seconds. If one of the arrays on this factor fails then the whole drive will cease operating. That's the only downside to having the fastest drive out. Of course it is the identical with any Raid array. Best bang for the buck of any boot drive correct now. If you are on the fence about this or a regular SSD, get this it is worth the little additional expense. If you want soemthing even more quickly grab a RevoDrive x2, but with double the controllers and arrays there is a higher opportunity of failure, so I got this and I am quite content.

Install was easy. A rapid performer. That's where the fun stops cold. Experiencing data corruption due to improper shutdown. Right after a week of combing the OCZ forums and some general suggestions from OCZ tech support (IE: Appear here, attempt this, go to this forum link, etc.), I spent this morning on the telephone line with Asus USA Tech support.I ought to have referred to as Asus 1st instead of a fruitless week of trouble shooting with Asus Sabertooth x58 Rev 1.02 and RevoDrive card combination. Ultimately my case was elevated to a level two technician. He informed me that the RevoDrive (as a boot drive) and their motherboards “generally don't work properly together.” As far as my MB, the Asus tech said that 0702 is the newest BIOS and that there are no BIOS hook adjustments offered that will stop Windows Event 41 with RevoDrive serving as the boot device. He also said the PCIe BUS is not powering off prior to the MB power shutdown. At this point, from my limited knowledge, I conclude the RevoDrive compatibility as a boot device may be a genuine variable and that the consumer need to be aware of that prior to purchase. Newegg will not allow a return of the RevoDrive (other than replacement) but will permit MB return with restocking fee and shipment etc. I have create may well 25 systems in the last 20 years, some with sophisticated SATA & SCSI raid configurations. Each had it’s little bugs but cleaned up nicely. But this specific encounter has left me with a incredibly poor taste.I do need to know what x58 motherboard does perform properly with the non-returnable 120GB RevoDrive as the boot device. Any help would be significantly appreciated. Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry that you are having difficulties. The concern comes down to the motherboard BIOS, and since most boards will function fine, we are confident that this problem could be fixed by the manufacturer. Even though we cannot make specific brand recommendations here, our forum support staff really should be able to make some board recommendations. Thank youExternal Link(s): OCZ Support Forums|

It's Rapidly... it's actually, genuinely quickly. It was easier to install than I thought it would be.This eliminated my method's bottleneck. Low capacity for the cost.Others had compatibility troubles (although I didn't). I had a lot of hesitation obtaining this device with it becoming non-regular... plus some of the horror stories in the evaluations. On the other hand, this factor works properly for me. Install was straightforward and it is running smoothly. It was regular for me to sit at game loading screens for 5 minutes or so. Now I get by way of the exact same screens virtually instantly (yeah, my last HDD was awful). This upgrade was worth the expense for me.My motherboard is a Gigabyte X58-USB3. It looks like this drive plays properly with Gigabyte mobos (as far as I can tell from the other critiques). So, there is that.

Quickly, actually fast! 7.9 on Windows 7 efficiency rating! Effortless sufficient to install, while I had doubts at first. If, and when, I create one more laptop or computer, I'll surely put one of these in it! That is, of course, unless there's something superior by then. None, correct now. It positive hugs my video card. I hope there's not going to be a problem of it overheating. I was told when I contacted OCZ technical support that it must be use in my second PCIe slot and that's proper under my video card. There could be 1Ǟ inch of clearance. Perhaps it would function in my PCIe 3 slot???

Blazingly rapidly, like obtaining a new CPU Like a prima ballerina, gets along with my other components as long as it gets it way - no raid excepts Revodrive's, no overclocking, install with a clean cmos, vanilla configuration. GA-EX58-UD4P mobo,i7-920 cpu, 300gb raptors, 1.five tb seagates typically in mirrored arrays (before Revodrive). I'd give it 4 eggs if it played nice with my other components. Maybe they'll all get along with my newer Asus Rampage III Formula motherboard.

Special solution for too couple of SATA ports to do SATA Raid. Far more costly and much less fault-tolerant than dual SSD or triple SSD with RAID card. Fastest commercial drive = 150MBps, so if a Mobo has 6 RAID-able SATA ports, you're only going to style 150ƪMBps of bandwidth into that motherboards SATA controller even if it's SATAII and can do 300MBps per port. Installing any additional than three 285R뢵W SSD's won't help; the bottleneck is between the chip and northbridge. RAID cards are the same way; want to do four RAID0 you will need an 8-SATAIIport or 2-SAS port RAID Card to handle them.Performing the calculations for that type of space and power, this card does not scale well cost-wise. SSD's a new market so they can get away with it.

The box is good. It must appear good on the bookshelf awaiting the obtain of a “New” laptop or computer to put it in.For most it may seem rapidly since it is a fresh install, but on this “Loaded Vista 64”, it seems only mildly quicker than my when/no longer Ư raid.In addition, a single SSD loaded Vista 64 faster than the Revo on my personal computer. Where’s my raid? For most men and women that only have 1 drive you won’t even notice, but those of us that have raid , Ư, or multi raid will sorely miss them. Moreover, you will be pulling a lot of hair if you attempt to keep the raid. In their forums, one poor soul spent 3 lengthy days “Beating his head against the wall” attempting to make this work. I spent 3 hours and eventually came up with the same conclusion this guy did after 3 days. (His was a 680i board, mine is a 780i)Too poor I “Stumbled” across this post following I bought this drive, or I would have Never ever bought it!My recommendation is to get two SSD’s and use your MB raid, and save the headaches! I’m not happy with this drive for two reasons. Initially, I lose my raid drives. Second, if this drive dies, then I’m up that properly known creek without a paddle. I feel that OCZ misrepresented this drive as functional on most computers. Only 6 mother boards are listed on their sales “Description” as getting issues, and no mention of disabling the MB raid functionality. In the forums I was told “You're issue is with EVGA not the drive.” I beg to differ, for my laptop or computer was working fine until I installed your drive. Your drive has issues with my computer, sir! Manufacturer Response:Hello, we aplogize for the difficulties. No Cables, Increased FD Tansfer Rates, Moderate Install.Potentially a giant leap towards the bottleneck and spin drives. Worked nicely with Biostar T5 XE with P55 and ASROCK X58. I was really incredibly impressed with the ASROCK BIOS. Extremely Limited BIOS support from most mainstream MB manufacturers. Price. Excellent Control on the p-line.Didn't work effectively with ASUS x58 STOOTH/P6X58D, MSI GD45,GIGABYTE UD3R. RAID? What Raid.... These boards went essential right after two weeks and needed to be reformatted. I would purchase the 50G until you locate out if this type of drive is going to work with your MB without having a BIOS update. I feel it has the possible to be a excellent item. I would wait for PCIE 3., USB four, X68?, and the new Intel Sandy's. The new X68 will get rid of any trim problems. W7 SP1? Any person....?

Blindingly fast when it works. By no means works! Immediately after just 1 week I have installed Win 7 a dozen times. It runs fantastic...then you reboot and Nothing! I think I will RMA. I am entirely addicted to the speed now and there is nothing that comes close. SSDs in raid, Raptors in raid...can't touch it. The only good thing is it installs 7 in like 10 minutes...maybe much less. But, a 10 minute boot time every single time you boot is not truly saving me any time. It's quickly. Just plugged it in, utilised a migration tool to clone my existing method, then set the BIOS to boot from it, and that was all it took. It doesn't truly get rid of the SATA bottleneck. All it is, is a 2-port SATA softraid controller with two SSDs on the circuit board. What it DOES get rid of is the southbridge bottleneck IF AND ONLY IF you plug it into a PCI-e slot that sits on the northbridge. I prefer the flexibility of utilizing two (or a lot more) SSD disk drives on the RAID controller of my option. This product is also not as rapidly as they make it out to be. It's fast, but you won't get the advertised speed. At least I don't with HDTune. 𞶎MB/sec read and 𞴌MB/sec write is what I get with my X58A/Core i7 board. Just sick with plain old SSD drives and use a decent raid controller, or your ICH10R. I have two sandforce drives on my ICH10R in a Raid0 stripe and that array blows this factor out of the water. 3 wouldn't be close. Four would max out the ICH10R.

Very fast, For anyone running the above board you must install windows onto a regular drive , boot to windows then download the latest RAID drivers from OCZ for the revo driveand put then on the disk windows is installed on. Then insert  win7 into cd and click install. When asked select  drivers then install and revo drive will appear. FORMAT first then select  revo drive and windows will install PERFECT. Reboot and press del then select  ACHI for all sata sata2 sata 3 options and save exit bios then reboot and it will boot from REVO first into windows. You will have to choos at this time the first win7 from the boot menu and your off, have fun...or id upgrade bios to R3 R2 works as well. by the way my windows experience is now 7.9 lol to view pictures of it with benchmarks and the motherboard goto http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1669785515&sk=photos This review was modfied by poster d 05-15-11 10:42 PM This review was modfied by poster @ 05-16-11 04:17 AM

This is a perfect product. It is fast and compatible with almost every motherboard. I love it. But where can I buy this product. By searching the comments and reviews on Google, I went onto OCZ's official web site and confirm that it was compatible to my exiting computer setting. It good idea to double check with the manufacturer just before purchase an item. In their "Compatible Motherboards" List ... I saw mine is right there. I was like, "Awesome"! I bought it right after. So far so good. I saw comments "Marvel RAID0 with 2 HDDs, 2 C300s on the Intel controller with RAID disabled, and a Revodrive", yes, it works. It came in its fancy box, I shoved it into the gaping maw of my HAF X case, into a PCIe slot in my Rampage III Formula, and then the trouble started. Anyone bump into same situation? So, try to install or reinstall Windows 7 on Revodrive. I reinstalled Win 7 home perineum, then boosted again. actually reboots a couple of time. I spent a couple of hours. Finally got it works. Five star product for me.

Cons: Fresh OS install on this drive is very buggy.

Pros: Incredibly Fast
Comment:
This is a blazingly fast drive which physically installs rather easily into any PCI-EXPRESS slot. However, if you intend on buying this you should buy a SLI or Crossfire board to use the hard drive. It's major downfall is that motherboard don't support bootable pci-express devices that well. The device will work on a lot of motherboards but they cause problems. You must download the drivers from OCZ intially. Moreover, Windows 7 prefers to put partitions on many drives so you must disconnect your SATA drives before installing this. I had quite a few issues installing this drive requiring constant reformats. It eventually worked but many people have not been so lucky. The OCZ support board are filled with troubleshooting posts.
