RAZER Black USB Wired BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Cons:-Very loud when your typing at night!-Takes up two USB ports [not really a problem for me]-The glossy finish has to be cleaned every couple days.-Must get used to the macros being next to important keys like CTRL..

Pros:-Performs as specified!-Attractive design.-Multiple settings for back-lit keys.-Media buttons built into the F keys.-Cable is in a net jacket which my cats do not like to chew on!
Comment:
I am really satisfied with my product! I've seen these go on for $99 but I was happy to pay full price and receive a $20 gift card.Anyways, the keyboard is just what I wanted. Perfect for gaming or even typing an essay. The loudness of the keys is a little much at first but I know when I strike a key which can be important in some games.

RAZER Black USB Wired BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Cons:LoudFingerprint Magnet

Pros:Mechanical keysTactile FeelBlue LED backlighting is per key which makes it evenly bright
Comment:
My particular keyboard had an issue with one of the keys where the LED would sometimes go off/flicker. Manually took it apart and pushed on the LED a bit to make sure it's getting enough contact. Sure enough, that fixed it. Otherwise, no problems here. Overall, a decent gaming keyboard with great tactile feel. I've forgotten how good mechanical keyboards are. I personally prefer my Das in terms of quality over this but for $100, don't think you could get a similar keyboard with backlighting anywhere. MX blue switches are loud btw.

RAZER Black USB Wired BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Cons: macro keys just get in the way, no dedicated media keys

Pros: keys feel great, looks pretty, leds are very bright
Comment:
I really don't like the macro keys. If you can type reasonably fast but never learned the "correct" way to touch type then the extra row of keys on the left will probably throw you off. I've had it for 3 months and it still feels a little weird, probably going to try to find a different mechanical keyboard to replace it.

RAZER Black USB Wired BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Cons: -could use a wrist rest

Pros: -sturdy, well built keyboard-excellent lighting-nice look
Comment:
After a long and sometimes confusing search, I ended up purchasing this keyboard. Although I really like it, I do wish it came with a wrist rest. I needed the backlighting, and this razer does have excellent lighting, and wanted a tough, longlasting keyboard. Overall, I am pleased with the product....just not perfect.

RAZER Black USB Wired BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Cons: LOUDPiano finish

Pros: Really responsiveCherry MX Blue SwitchesOnly mechanical keyboard with backlit
Comment:
You don't have to guess when the keyboard decide that you pushed the key or smash it, with this keyboard you feel the *click*. I can't go back to normal keyboard after using mechanical it's just so superior but you can't type/game near someone sleeping or you will get beat to death because it's damn loud.

RAZER Black USB Wired BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Cons: -Full set of small, annoying flaws like friction, key labels, and connector positions-Only 5 macro buttons

Pros: -Top-of-the-line mechanical feel-Full featured, everything you can want in a keyboard (almost)
Comment:
Up front: this is a really great keyboard with a few annoying flaws.Good stuff first -- The keys are nice and responsive. The tactile click helps immensely with typing. Typing on anything but a chiclet keyboard (due to minuscule key travel) feels spongy compared to this. The macro keys on the left are useful and I've never had any problem with the drivers. The individual key backlighting is stronger than any other keyboard I've seen even on the lowest setting, so there's no visibility problems. It's clearly visible in a well-lit room. Can't say that about most competitors. Passthroughs are useful to me. The media keys are a must, and they're there. The whole thing is quite stylish if you don't get it greasy, too.The bad: USB passthroughs would have been more useful on the top of the keyboard because of thumb drives being easily inserted, lots of space there, and the small space lost due to the usb connector on the right. Audio passthroughs are fine on the right (except for the space lost) because Razer headsets have right-sided chords IIRC but other headsets have left-sided chords. Flico blue switches on the edges of your hand's reach are slightly awkward to actuate because the inside of the mechanism, when triggered at an angle, rubs against itself causing friction. Secondly, since release point is very high, double tapping instinctively takes some getting used to. Key labels are at times vertically reversed (eg 9 label is ABOVE the bracket label), which can be annoying. Lastly, the FN key would have been more useful on the left side since that's where your hand is during gaming.

Cons: Price

Pros: Keys feel greatIt Clicks!!
Comment:
Pretty pricey for a keyboard today, but you get what you pay for. The keys feel great. It is somewhat loud when typing, but that is a plus for me. I love the click of a mechanical keyboard.

RAZER Black USB Wired BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Cons: fingerprint magnetsecondary function of keys not lit up

Pros: mechanical keyboardindividually backlit keyscompact and simple design for a gaming keyboardpiano black finish looks great with bright blue keysheavy enough not to ever slide around
Comment:
I've been wanting a more tactile gaming keyboard for years, and Razer provided.Much more satisfying than my Logitech g15... I can hear and feel each keystroke, and easily see the keys - unlike most backlit competitors who only use a few LEDs to illuminate the whole board, this KB puts a light behind each key.The function key allows the standard F keys to double as media keys, eliminating a lot of extra real estate.

RAZER Black USB Wired BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Cons: USB and audio ports on side of keyboard, no wrist rest.

Pros: Back lit, solid build feel heavy for a keyboard, excellent key response
Comment:
The last time I used a mechanical keyboard was with my Tandy 1000SL,lol. It was a great experience then and something I've missed over the years but didn't realize it until I bought this keyboard.I like Razer products for the most part but I find that build quality can be sub par on one product line and superior in another, I'm glad to say the Black Widow's build quality is superior to their previous offerings in the keyboard market. First thing you'll notice upon removing the keyboard from it's box is how heavy it is. This will hopefully be seen as a plus for most gamers as it will mean your keyboard will be very stable during gameplay. One of the most obvious features of this keyboard aside from the mechanical keys is the back lighting. Personally I'm a fan of back lit keyboards as I game in the dark mostly and I admit that from time to time I have to look at the keyboard to find some keys. The lighting is adjustable and can be turned off. As mentioned by another reveiwer the font used by Razer is.....different almost distracting at first you won't be able to figure it out, then you'll notice very square letters, the #7 key is an upside down backward L, the r key is also an upside down L, the E is a sideways W and so on. It's odd but whatever to save money in this economic climate, lol. Two downsides to this keyboard one obvious from a gamers point of view and as such is unforgiveable from a company that proclaims "By gamers for gamers". Why on earth would they put the USB and audio jacks on the right hand side of the keyboard!! For a company that makes mouse pads and mice to not realize that 90% of gamers place and use their mice on the right side of the keyboard is unforgiveable! For example I plug in my Razer Charcharias headset and Death Adder mouse the jacks for which now project over my mousing surface, very annoying, preventing me from using the upper left hand side of my mouse pad without hitting the connectors. RAZER listen closely take a tip from the competion in this Steelseries and put that stuff on the TOP of the keyboard. Also while your at it add a decent wrist rest like the Steelseries 7G keyboard. Make those two changes and you'll be the uncontested champion of keyboards, guaranteed.

RAZER Black USB Wired BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Cons: not really a weakness in my POV, but to you, it might be a bit loud if it's your first mechanical keyboard

Pros: Much easier to type withi, personally, enjoy the loud clacks
Comment:
It pretty much had everything I looked for in a keyboard. However, it's pretty much a finger print magnet.

RAZER Black USB Wired BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Cons: -loud, although this is intended {talking on skype while typing generates alot of noise over the mic)-high gloss finish on wrist rest is a fingerprint magnet for those clean freaks who care.-

Pros: -Very snappy feel-High quality non-slip keys-5 backlighting settings, and they all look amazing-Heavy- not going anywhere-On the fly macro recording-Mic, headphone and usb ports-nothing strange done with key layout
Comment:
Got this keyboard about a week agom and I've bene living it ever since.I type MUCH faster because it's so much easier to press the keys and, I CANNOT stress enough how good the keys feel. It's amazing. The backlighting is superb, one of the best I've ever seen in my life, and the 5 settings make it even better. This keyboard is a bit pricey, but I assure you that you get your money's worth and more. This keyboard is simply amazing.

RAZER Black USB Wired BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Cons: I hate the font choice, fn key is on right side of space bar instead of left, and macro keys are too close to left side.

Pros: Mechanical keyboard, macro keys, LED lights.
Comment:
First mechanical keyboard for me, decided to get this over the basic simply for LED. Very easy to type on and the amount of force you need to press the key is so small its pretty amazing. Macro keys are too close as mentioned, and the function key should be on the other side, and the sound jacks would also be preferred on the left side. Key presses are a bit loud, bit louder then a mouse click. Overall pretty solid keyboard but the basic is probably a better price/performance product.

Cons: FontsPriceQuality

Pros: Feels GoodBright LEDSnappy
Comment:
Maybe I got a bad batch but my J and M keys weren't flushed so they were sticking together. You think for a $140 keyboard a little bit more quality control would be implemented. After 2 weeks my left SHIFT key started to get jammed, it turns out the little plastic holders snapped. What a piece of crap. My G15 lasted me 3 years and it's still good without any damaged keys only some of the LEDs aren't working on the numpad. After a week weeks some of the keys are starting to get a lot stiffer, the same thing started to happen with my SHIFT key. Overall the keyboard was awesome but now it feels like it's slowly falling apart and it hasn't even been a few weeks yet. Very displeased, will not be buying any Razer keyboards again in the future.Huge fail on quality control.

RAZER Black USB Wired BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Cons: no NKRO, macro keys a little close to the left side keys. Function keys a little to close together. Key font is garbage

Pros: Mech keyboard, macros, backlight. Very sturdy. sweet to type on.
Comment:
I like these keys better than the 6GV2, got a snappier feel to them that I find easier to type with. The keys have the worst font in the history of keyboards, the "R" key is an upside down L. Like the back life for the base, missed that on the 6GV2.This keyboard is close to perfect...a few tweaks and will be there. That font is crazy bad thou, so glad that I am a touch typist and don't have to look at the keys much.
