I got this to give me a couple internal SATA ports and an added IDE channel to connect a zip drive and my IDE slave was going out so I believed why not upgrade to sata and join the modern age. I have two 1 TB HDDs (WD and Seagate) connected to the internal SATA. I'm not sure if I have the jumpers set proper for the external SATA ports, the directions say you can adjust to where all of the ports function. It could also be me not getting in a position to visualize the right configuration from the directions. I ordered an external enclosure with an e-sata connection and I'll attempt it with that. Occasion Viewer reports errors on each HDDs, I don't know if the challenge is the HDDs themselves or the controller card but both are nevertheless running fine.

Installed of the card was effortless. Installed this card in a old Micron Client Pro tower that did not have any SATA controller. Installed Ubuntu 10.ten on the the difficult drive. Went in with no a hitch. Initial drivers loaded from floppy. Installed utility for CD. Tested in all modes and functions perfectly. Comes with all the cables necessary. Operates for flashing 360s. I can't say I've had such a good client service knowledge ever. That's fairly sad thinking of the big name brands that I've had to deal with. I'm so glad I purchased Rosewill from Newegg. I program on buying a lot more from them now. Any doubts I had about lousy assistance (if there even was help like some brands I've played with) have been removed. Got it in four days and threw it in instantly(well installed it) and worked flawlessly. Didn't even install drivers for it. Im running Vista 64-Bit Intel Dual core . NONE! I have heard of these card becoming in a position to connect XBOX 360 DVD drives and I would agree. This can read IDE and SATA. IT has 4 Sata ports and Come's with molex to w/e it is SATA drives use. Using it For additional external Harddrives because USB just isn't quickly sufficient for me!

I've owned this card for two years and have flashed quite a few 360s with it. I have flashed just about every type of drive. I have flashed using WinXP 32bit and Win7 64bit.If you can't get your pc to recognize your xbox drive it is NOT this card's fault. Just make a note of your jumper settings so you're not guessing which ports are activated. Though most flashing methods advise uninstalling By way of drivers I have had success with some 360 drives by leaving them installed. It's quite tricky often obtaining a drive detected by windows device manager, and most of the time I can't even get jungleflasher to detect them either. Even so, Dosflash v1.8 has often detected the drive no challenge. I'll read/erase/write with dosflash and use jungleflasher just to extract the original essential and spoof to new firmware.No single on-line flashing tutorial has ever gone as planned for me, most of the time I've had to feel of solutions on my own. Be ready to do the very same, but know that this card WILL assist you get the job done.

On the initial install it caused havoc with my boot up. After I upgraded the bios with file from the RC-212 product page it worked fine.I got this to replace a flaky Sil 3112A onboard chip. So far I've only tested sata and ide with difficult drives, no DVD. I would have preferred esata on the external ports, but with no cost shipping the price was low enough to ignore this flaw. I currently had a esata to sata cable so it wasn't to a lot of a issue.
