Operates just fine. I haven't actually pushed it but although. What's up with me getting to place the heatsink on myself? Not that I'm above that but come on, it's not a cpu. The funny thing is, this card is replacing an Intel GB card that won't recognize effectively in an old AMD based MSI board I've got. Go figure. Kinda kills the "you get what you pay for" mantra. Also, I've been looking at the tips beneath about receiving the updated drivers. I didn't need to have them, maybe they're shipping with the new rev on the included media now. Also I Never give five eggs.

I'VE READ ALL THE Reviews, AND FOR ALL THE People WHO SAY IT DOESN'T Function, IT IS SLOW, IT IS JUNK, And so on. Attempt THIS PRO TIP.you got to set the speed/duplex to 100, then reset computer system, then go to realtek.com and download the november 2008 driver, which fixed almost everything i can see, and then reset speeds to either auto, or what you actually can use, and then do your speed tests. the low price tag is insane. Rosewill is superior. it utilizes the 8169 realtek driver. i have a number of of these cards. they ARE Quite SLOW with old drivers. Very Rapidly with new. PRO TIP:i employed JB Weld Speedy to attach the heatsink, and they will not ever fall off. sticky tape is for rookies. loose heatsinks are not very good and may possibly kill your personal computer.

Plug and play with Ubuntu ƙ.04) or Windows. I powered up my Linux server and it Just Worked, no configuring required. Inexpensive, rapidly, even comes with a low-profile bracket for slimline enclosures. None I can believe of.

Installed in Sever 2003. Had it working in no time. Speed tests were reasonable. Low profile option is nice for a tiny case. None Fantastic for the Cost.

Good solid gigabit card. Produces good transfer speeds and now have a full gigabit connection to my major gigabit switch. Other than getting a tiny pricey, I have no issues with this card. ภ.99 isn't to $$$, but with ten럼 cards promoting for just a handful of bucks every single, ภ.99 is a tiny pricey.

Good cost! Totally free shipping (I wish it could have lasted a week longer so I could buy the 3rd one). Simple to setup. Functions on both XP and Vista ࿠-bit). I like the 4 LEDs indicating the speed and complete duplex status. Not however. I purchased 2 cards. A single worked w/o issue on an XP Pro program. The other one particular was initially installed on an XP Pro program but was only giving 100mbps. Then I installed it on a Vista Ultimate 64-bit and it worked suitable away. After some thoughts I then purhcased locally an additional brand PCI card based on the exact same Realtek chipset (XP did not even bother to use the new driver) but used a far shorter cable and it is now running 1000mbps. Apparently the distance between that machine and the switch is too lengthy in my property and I was working with a 25ft Cat 6 cable among the machine and the wall jacket. Had I utilised a three ft cable the original card would have worked fine (I did not attempt given that I don't want to go by means of the complete process again, but I am particular!). So if everyone is having trouble gaining 1000mbps speed (at least to see that green LED lights up ;-) please check your cable length. The common calls for 100m룄ft+ length, if I recall appropriately.

+Cheap+Easy to Install+Fast+Heat Sink (optional) none Slapped this into a server I have on a gigabit house network. I produced the server out of an old Dell Dimension 2400. The onboard NIC was ten럼, so this was required... Worked fairly excellent, I can now send photos and music over to it very quickly...

Installs uncomplicated, tiny, functions perfectly. Truely plug and play. None that I can assume of. The Mounting of the heatsink is a bit strange.. although it appears to be ok for the moment. It just sort of sticks on with some type of thermal(?) adhesive. But has managed to remain on. (just make confident you center it perfectly just before applying the firm pressure to seat it totally)

Works good for my standard household networking purposes. Install was a piece of cake. Drivers are easy to find on the net.100MB/s transfers on the regular from my household server to the desktop with this card installed. driver cd supported appears to have ALL rosewill add on card drivers, makes it tough to uncover the ones you essentially need. purchased this lan card to add some reliability to my network connection as my onboard lan kept on have gateway errors.

Low cost. 1000Mbps. Linux/BSD compatible (supposedly). unrecognized, bargain-basement brand. Some extremely poor evaluations (including this 1). Sporadic functionality, when it worked (didn't truly function long enough to do diagnostics). Purchased this NIB to upgrade my FreeNAS system from 100Mbps to Gigabit/s. Right after installing and generating suitable changes to the program, the connection was worse than my 8+ year-old 10럼Mbps ?-brand NIC! Apparently some shoppers did have some achievement with this card and FreeNAS/FreeBSD, but honestly, for the cost it's not worth troubleshooting. FreeNAS did recognize the card suitable away, but that was the finish of the great news. Right after that, my FreeNAS was essentially unreachable via the file shares and sporadic through the web GUI. I messed with the LAN settings and lowered the speed to 100Mbps, but nothing seemed to fix it. Absolutely unusable for my setup.I'm certain Rosewill's Triage bloggers will write a "Dear Valued Customer" reply below this assessment, so ignore that. There's no way I'm spending any more time troubleshooting this product OR dealing with their supposedly poor consumer service to fix a ង$ NIC. Works as advertised. Superior price for a Gigabit card. Updated drivers were tough to locate, especially for Vista. Worked fine under Linux and XP.

Popped it in, booted, Vista installed the correct drivers on its own. Worked perfectly out of the box. Replaces Mobo integrated chip that died. None. Note in box indicated that the heat sink included was not essential. I did not use (but if I had some glue sitting around - I would have). These chips do fail!

almost too easy to install, comes with a mount for micro rigs, nice touch no cd required works vry properly at 1000mbps some assembly needed the heat sink was nifty but deemed unnecessary

expense and ease of installation. It did not function on a WIndows 2008 file server network. Installed 2 cards on windows XP machines to upgrade to Gigabit Speeds. After installing this these two machines started having several glitches with 2 of the four network programs they ran off the server. It would work 25% of the time for these two programs. I didn't get a lot of a opportunity to trouble shoot these cards simply because I installed them in a small business that wanted their stuff to function with or with out these cards. I believe these cards would possibly work excellent on a Windows 2003 network or with a P2P network.

does what it is supposed to do.is rapidly for the cost range Windows property server had some problems had to get updated drivers.conflicts with other nic cards onboard and pci. i had to disable my onboard nic for this to function correctly in WHS. as soon as i disabled backups rans fine. as for speed it wasnt the ideal nothing like an intel card. but for the price its good and still beats 10럼

Affordable. Supports most present Operating Systems. Rich list of capabilities. No dilemma driving 100' of Cat 6 cable. Easy to configure. A WOL cable might have been a good touch but not needed on newer motherboards or systems you don't program on employing WOL. Not a complaint at this price. I've applied these NICs for a few years and have never had any trouble. I will continue to use them as the want arises. As newer motherboards support Gigabit LAN, the need isn't as excellent.BTW, this NIC supports 7k Jumbo Frames. If you are getting issues, make positive the rest of your network hardware supports Jumbo Frames and that the function is enabled.

INSTALLATION SECRET - install card, insert the CD drivers, and it will autoplay/autoload the drivers. the card will connect, look excellent, but won't work. go to the advanced settings for the Realtek NIC, and alter the speed/duplex from AUTO to 100 or 10. must function now. Next, go to www.Realtek.com - downloads - communications network IC's - network interface controllers - 10럼񲿘 gig ethernet- PCI - computer software - choose 8169xx stuff (the second choice - choose 5.707 win XP 308k 2008ቧቴ use this and the card will rock. in evaluation, alter the settings from auto detect speed to a lower speed. download new driver. install new driver by using windows to "update driver". if this scares you, then get the D-Link card,or Intel which are PnP.

Didn't need to have driver disk when I install it in each Win 7 and Win XP. It is auto recognized and drivers auto-install. Rapidly, inexpensive, works well. None so far. Bought this simply because I suddenly couldn't (still can't) get the onboard LAN and HD Audio to function on an ECS mobo. Have tried Everything I CAN Feel OF!!! going into registry, diverse OS's, diverse drivers, going into services, researched ad nauseum for couple months in spare time, as I hate to take up slots on a mostly working mobo for cards that replace what need to function already (and did until I put the mobo in a new case couple of months ago).... finally wondering if 1 of the two mobo BIOS updates caused concern. ECS support is awful. After filling out the insane quantity of info they want for email support, they emailed back days later with "what's the serial number on the board?" Who cares? I told you the model#+vers., don't want to go household and pull stuff out of the comp to come across the SN sticker appropriate now. Just support. We adore paying low costs for Produced in Taiwan, but that comes with Chinglish, nonexistent support for it all. Thankfully, we can purchase far more cheap Taiwanese cards.
