Small card with all case adapters integrated. Plugged it in and XP had it configured within seconds - no drivers required. Can't inform any difference in speed, other than my online connection works again. Can't complain. Don't waste your time researching. It's a network card, it's affordable and it functions excellent.

It worked right out of the box, and it was inexpensive. I am operating Linux (Mandriva 2008.1), so it is not a foregone conclusion that plug-in cards will function with my process. In this case, there are no complications. None that I can feel of. I bought this to get around a dilemma with an on-board ethernet NIC on a replacement mother board that does not perform with my Linux.Newegg delivered this in a day and got me back on the web.

Comment:
Cheap. None. I haven't seriously used the card as it was going to be a backup if I moved a workstation from a wireless place to my studio wǘ hubs as the on-board lan fried. I recently moved that workstation into the studio, operating Windows 7 as a testbed. At the moment the Rosewill RC-402 doesn't perform with W7 and is only recognized as a PCI Input Device. That's fine. I only half expected it to operate, hoping all of the Vista drivers would be ported to W7 (in its existing develop). I'll attempt some a lot more of the Realtek drivers found in the W7 network list to see if it'll function.

Employed this card in my dorm space to share an online connection with a wireless router (wouldn't operate when straight connected to the ethernet port mainly because of the strict network restrictions) so I could have my personal private wireless network in my space. Is nonetheless going sturdy 6 months later. For the value it can't be beat. None.

Fantastic price tag; simple to install. So far this card works like a champ. I thought this was supposed to come with a drivers disk, but it doesn't. My fault, so it truly isn't a con. I was worried at very first when my wife told me that this NIC didn't come with any software. But even with her limited encounter troubleshooting PCs, she was in a position to install this card with out any hitches. Following she installed the card on the mother board, she turned the Pc on, and Windows XP recognized the card and set every little thing up for her. This was actually plug and play.

Plugged card in, had to reboot when, XP recognized card and was back in organization. 10 minute job. none Newegg had the portion at my door the subsequent small business day working with typical shipping. Fantastic for us in the rural locations.

Operates It's not no cost It just performs. I haven't run any speed tests but I've heard these realtek chipsets aren't the ideal. It doesn't matter to me mainly because I just connect to the net and a 7Mb connection isn't going to tension a 100Mb LAN card.

Works fine on an old Dell with Windows 98SE that didn't come with a LAN port. A low profile bracket is included in situation you have a modest form aspect situation. I think about it a bargain at this low price. None truly. If you will need a Windows 98SE driver like I did, no driver cd is included. You have to go to their site and download it. Not significantly of a issue but the Realtek site address provided in manual doesn't exist. I still discovered it by looking on Rosewill's website. There is a V1. driver and a Rev. 1.. Use the Rev. 1. as the V1. doesn't perform. I utilized to use a USB wireless adapter but it at some point died and I had troubles acquiring new ones to function so I switched to this. I use an wireless AP client connected to the LAN port. Keeps this old W98SE Pc chugging away.
