threeቫ񳏇 This fan is far more than I expected.. Now you think that fan is old, Yet the case I place it in is over 13 years old. So I had the space.. but most absolutely if you have a roomy situation, ie Antec, and are seeking to get rid of a noisy cpu cooler, consider no further. that rosewill doesn't make kitchen/bath vents fans for Broan,

It functions. Not unreasonably challenging to install but you have to eliminate the fan and possibly PSU. Cools far better than stock but not by considerably. Not as quiet as I'd hoped, my MB doesn't recognize the fan for speed throttling.

Substantial and apparently effectively created, with a thick slab of copper on its base. The fan is not silent, but is absolutely quiet and it moves a lot of air. Very good value. The fan I received is apparently defective. It does not signal the motherboard of its rotation speed, so the motherboard Fan Off Manage shuts the pc down quickly right after booting starts, to avoid CPU overheating. I tried two motherboards with the similar results. I don't want to shut off the Fan Off Control in the BIOS, so I can\'t use this fan. Posters right here say that the the heatsink is hard to attach. It's not THAT bad, but if you have in no way attached a CPU heatsink, this is likely not the one you want to find out on. I would have preferred a clip with the usual significant receptacle for a screwdriver head positioned on the outside. This unit has a tiny curved catch on the inside of the clip, which is tougher to access and calls for a relatively narrow screwdriver head. My CPU is lastly cool sufficient, that I don’t require a (noisy) 12 inch fan blowing on leading of my old (piece of junk) Masscool cpu cooler. The Heatsink & Fan is relatively large. It barely fit in my situation. The clearance on all sides are at a minimum. Following installing heatsink/fan, I wasn't sure if there was going to be enough space to re-insert my power provide. Installation was a discomfort, because of the pressure that is needed to get it clipped on each sides. I’m surprised that I didn’t harm the motherboard in the process of installing it. If you believe you have the clearance, absolutely get the Rosewill RCX-Z100 more than the masscool heatsink/fan. I have had nothing but difficulties with the masscool unit.

Incredibly quiet, affordable, easy to install. Keeps an althon xp 2500+ at 27C on idle. None I would advise finding one of these heatsinks over a stock socket a cooler if you take place to have a single.

Substantially quieter than the Thermaltake Volcano 7+ that I have had for years. It cools my XP 2400+ better as effectively. None As expected by reading the other critiques, the retaining clip does want some added force whilst installing. The moment the clip is installed, nonetheless, it works well.

Bought this to see if there would be a noticeable improvement in temps -noise ratio over a preceding and operating Dynatron purchased from Newegg. This one particular is noticeably significantly quieter and the temps are about 38C below load. The clips on this certain unit are extremely snug and a surprising bit of pressure was required to seat on my MSI 6570 mobo. Other reviewers have also commented about comparable tight tolerances ...just a noticeable more controlled pressure to lock it in. My mainboard 's bios does not display the cpu fan information ...oh effectively. Considering that I would much rather have a cooler cpu temp and also a quieter box, overall this a single is cooler and quieter than previous Dynatron with a copper base and 60mm fan.

Copper base. Great size heatsink. It's quieter then the 80mm fan it replaced. Fan runs at practically 2600RPM, instead of 2200RPM as advertised. I envision though this is the fault of my older motherboard. With the exception of the copper base, the heatsink is the similar as the 1 I took off. The CPU truly runs a tiny hotter than with the old 80mm fan. I utilised Artic Silver five in between the cpu and the heatsink. CPU is a Duron 1GHz. I can't accuratly say what the temperatrue is due to the fact of the motherboard. According to lmsensors, idle temps went from 48C to 52C. Bios even though reads about 39C now. I've by no means bothered to calibrate lmsensors even though. Also, I removed the fan when installing the heatsink. When I 1st powered it up, the fan made a racket. I should have twisted the fan housing slightly, mainly because taking it off and putting it back on fixxed it.

This is defintely a superior purchase for barely 20 bucks. I wish I could have performed some more testing to get some a lot more concrete numbers - but before I installed this heatsink my quad 6600 would boot at about 36c - now with this and a couple of installed fans it boots at 25c. I was impressed that rosewill support checked out the reviews and provided help as nicely. This stuff isn't high end, but it operates and does the job it's supposed to. Like all the new intel heatsinks, whoever invented the four pin install should be promptly fired. Virtually anytime you have to do a thing to the processor you fairly considerably have to take out all your components and unscrew the motherboard. It's one particular of the worse styles in modern computing. Possibly it offers more area for the processor, but surely a superior design could have been made from the most significant processor corporation out there. I pair this up with a silverstone fan, and a smaller 92mm antec case fan. I was having heating problems I believe mainly because I'd get tricky freezes. So far so very good, hopefully that was my issue. But I have noticed a distinction in the heat on the processor - I couldn't touch the metal fins it was so hot, but not it's pretty cool to the touch and I boot up at 25c. Unfortuneatly I didn't do any really serious testing beforehand on my temperatures, but I load at around 60c

Incredibly, incredibly quiet for a socket A CPU cooler (especially due to the fact there are so couple of becoming made these days). My original AMD cooler that came with the CPU was beginning to sound like an individual was loose in my case with a chainsaw, and soon after putting this new cooler on my computer is whisper quiet, even with out having an advanced quiet computing case. Also, the temperature doesn't appear any worse (I used the stock grease that was already on the heatsink), so it's a excellent way to quiet down an old AMD machine. Exceptional value also. Like most everybody else here, I had to take the fan off to get it installed. I got the metal clasps on on one side of the ZIF socket prior to realizing I couldn't get the other side on with no removing the fan, and that's why I took off an egg. Had they shipped the fan detached from the heatsink, or had they enclosed directions saying to take it off very first so that you don't discover you want to get rid of it Soon after obtaining it halfway installed, then I would have offered them five eggs. Make certain you have clearance on your board for this heatsink and fan, given that it is considerably larger than the original fan/heatsink shipped with the processors. That mentioned even though, the sides do slope some so you don't need to have the full 80 mm clearance till you get near fan level. Close to the base there might be some wiggle room on spacing of short elements are close to the socket. Also, you may possibly will need to take away your power provide when installing this as nicely. I virtually did even although I was performing the install in a roomy Antec complete tower. Just anything to look for ahead of you start.Lastly, it seems like the pre-applied grease on this issue is fairly average. If you have greater stuff, clean their stuff off and place the fantastic stuff on, due to the fact it will be quite tough to uninstall and do it later. My specs:AMD Athlon XP 2100+Gigabyte 7VRXP Rev two.

Largest (and it appears only) CPU cooler you can obtain for a socket A currently. Cools nicely; keeps my deughter's Athlon XP 3000+ at ㅾ celsius (they run truly hot anyway) Mounting is a headache. I didn't have to take it apart to mount it, but I had to take away the video card so I could get the prybar (screwdriver) angled in the proper way to clip it onto the socket.I could see how somebody could install a new slot into their mobo even though installing this if they aren't cautious. Looks fairly; Significantly quieter than my 7000 RPM copper cooler master (thank you Rosewill!!!)

With lots of life left in my old Athlon XP rig, I figured it was time to get a fantastic quiet cooler before they had been all gone. Got a new PS too. This is quiet and keeps the cpu a lot cool. Positive beats the hair dryer noise I had prior to. Like all Atholn coolers of this era, its not genuine easy to install. I did eliminate the fan to get the PS in, but also to get the darn thing clamped. My motherboard will not adjust the fan speed, but I dont care, it's significantly much less noisey than my old one particular. If you want to maintain your old XP chip operating due to the fact you know they surf just fine, then this is a good quiet replacement sink and fan.

Much quieter than my old cooler (made by Thermaltake). The fan on this new a single is a lot bigger, and spins at a lower RPM, which makes it quieter. This was my most important purpose with this purchase; the fact that it has cooled my CPU down about 30 degF is a good bonus. It was a little far more than i wanted to devote, and i did lose a small skin off my finger trying to get it in. Possibly my fault although :)Wished it was totally free shipping. Certainly a excellent invest in if you still have a Socket A cpu that needs cooling. Hopefully it lasts awhile!

**Virtually no noise can't hear any noise from 1 foot away**Lowered my cpu temp to 40 C five min right after boot taken from bios** Particularly straightforward to install (took me ten sec) **Comes with thermal grease ... (saves you a trip if you dont already have one particular lying about)** Solid quality develop **Excellent product Didnt want to take any chances on the thermal grease that came with it so I wiped it off and put some I had lying around the house. When you very first open your personal computer and enter bios you will see your cpu temp reach around 32C which is great proper? Properly if you go and eat some thing and come back you will see that this temp slowly went up to 40C whilst nevertheless in bios. This is because when you turn it on it takes a couple of minutes for the cpu to get to its idle temperature simply because of the size of the copper block sitting on best of it. Men and women that stated that it lowered to 32 didnt wait and check to see the stable idle temp right after five minutes.

Better than stock cooling. Fairly quiet due to larger fan and low rpm. Inexpensive. Insufficient rpm for optimal cooling. Fan rpm is not being reported by my motherboard (Kg7). This may well be a limitation of my motherboard not reporting low rpm. My prior cooler ran @ over four,000 rpm and reported fine. Options for my old socket 462 are couple of and far among. Wish I had spent a tiny additional and got the Zalman cnps7000b-cu, which is nonetheless available elsewhere.

Replaced a tired out thermalake fan/HS. Wish I had this fan just before. I can't hear it. Genuinely, the loudest portion of the program is the HD spinning up. Access to the latch is tricky with the fan overhang. Remove fan, install HS, replace fan. Takes mucho force to engage. Athlon 2400+ XP maxes out at 46C with this fan.

It was easy to install for me. Wasn't expecting to have a tough time with it but only took me like 3 minutes. Thanks to the other evaluations, I knew I had to take out the fan first then install the heatsink and put the fan back in. Looks nice and it's quiet. It's not any greater than the stock a single, extremely disappointed. I got it since the cpu was running on 60c and even right after slapping this factor on it created no difference. I utilised artic silver as thermal compound and running a AMD Athlon 3000+. I expected this one to make a distinction given that it's bigger. I guess larger isn't better. I chose this a single over the completely copper DYNATRON one particular. Perhaps that a single would've been better.

Quite quiet fan. Excellent airflow on an Athlon XP 3000+ Processor. Anybody, who has ever owned a personal computer getting either Socket A (AMD) or Socket 370 (Intel), really should currently know about the clip on these heat sinks by now. If you know what you're doing, it is only a little bit inconvenient (removing the fan from the heat sink, removing the power supply unit, and so on.). The ones, who complain the most, are the ones who don't know what they're performing or are expecting this to install itself. This stuff "comes with the territory" on these older computers. Good product, but be cautious with installation.

Decent cost and as usually lightning fast shipping from Newegg. Looks cool. May well try utilizing it on a cooler cpu. Bulky. Loud. Had to take fan off to effectively install heatsink. Did not perform nicely with the AMD 񩰰 processor it was bought for. For the size of this HFC and the amount of noise it makes you would expect greater cooling than the stock HFC. In my expertise this is not the case. Although it has a larger heat sink and fan; the Rosewill part was keeping the cpu in the mid to high 40's at idle and into the 60's under load. Tried reinstalling a couple of times. Temps got worse but never superior than best case. Installed the stock HFC from an AMD 񩧘 and am getting idle temps of high 20's/low 30's and under heavy load in the 50's. Inaudible more than other case fans. quite low noise at 22.5dBEfficient cooling. The big 92mm fan pushing 44CFM onto a pure aluminum heatsink & pure copper base = almost everything your processor desires.Athlon xp 2800+ went from ェ-62C| \/down\/ to about ん-49C| '''Remove the fan''' ahead of you attempt attaching this like every person says. I tried attaching the bracket to the motherboard by means of the fan only to have my tool slip and snap one of the precious red fins (the outcome of carelessness). Absolutely nothing a little super-glue & some sandpaper can't fix-up. This is most likely the least expensive and most efficient HSF you will ever will need for a socket A motherboard.Case - eMachines W3052OS - Windows 7 32-bit
