Keeps the cpu nice and cool, I'm down from the mid 50s to the mid 30's when idle. Very good Fan doesn't perform right. I do not know if it is broken, or if it is just a poor style, but it does not report its rotational speed to the pc -- regularly at rpm, and I get a warning just about every time I boot that the CPU fan is not working. Incredibly irritating... thankfully, my motherboard permits for boot with no this info... numerous do not! I simply don't have the time to play RMA games with this, so I have to keep it -- even although it isn't operating right. At least the CPU is cool sufficient.

Uncomplicated to install. Getting that enormous fan on there truly quiets the thing down. I originally had a giant copper heat-pipe, and it was as loud as a box fan. I don't even hear this one running, which is a vast improvement. Red is kind of obnoxious... but then once again, I like obnoxious. Wouldn't hurt if it had some structure more than the fan to maintain wires from rubbing against it.

It looks neat. Worst บ investment I've ever made. Not installable for anyone but a Incredibly skilled installation tech, with quite superior tools. I've been constructing computers since the dinosaurs utilised them & this was THE most tough CPU cooler I've ever installed. In reality, I damaged MY CPU & have to replace it. Invest a different five bucks & buy some thing greater. I wish I would have. IF you do decide to acquire this, maintain in mind that the power cable may possibly be on the side away from where it plugs in to you motherboard. I located that in order to install this, I had to mount it backwards. I also found the removing the energy supply & video card gave me a lot much more space to function & were a huge help.As a lot of other people have mentioned, the fan is Massive & tough to work around.

Fan is super quiet compared to my old Spire cpu cooler. Heatsink installs in a snap; the clamp fit onto my Socket A with one motion. Massive copper surface. Comes with pre-applied square of thermal paste. Heatsink is Huge. It just BARELY fit on my Gigabyte mobo. Check the dimensions incredibly carefully to see if there are any capacitors in the way.Fan feels really affordable and flimsy. I'm giving it four eggs due to the fact it was a painless installation and my motherboard doesn't complain at all. I haven't checked the temperatures however, but frankly, this is on an old Athlon XP 2600+ with not a entire lot going on, so it's a situation exactly where either it works or it doesn't. I'm docking an egg for the low-cost fan. Yes, you will need to take the fan off the heatsink ahead of attaching the heatsink. Isn't that pretty much generally the case? This aint no Thermaltake unit, but it works, and it does so quietly, for fifteen bucks.

Copper Base. Low RPM. Low Noise. Heats up my amd athlon xp 2000+ kinda hot... I think its due to my thermal paste though. I applied Artic Silver five but I will need to reapply it because of the extremely challenging installation. Make positive you take the fan off before installing this feel. Took fairly a bit of bending of the brace in order to get it on there. Its far better than my screaching stock cooler atm.

Looks cool, wasn't too loud. After trying to install this fan, laptop or computer did not post, just got beep codes from the motherboard. The motherboard was somehow damaged in the installation. I'm no stranger to installing cpu fans/heatinks, in particular for socket A. Granted the board was around 5 years old, but I've never killed 1 doing this just before. Extremely quiet fan with an RPM of 2250-2300. Has cooled my AMD 2200 Athlon XP from roughly 50c렕f on a rather warm day ࿺f) to 40c렀f which will no doubt prolong the life of any processor. Recommend -:) Rather complicated to install but with the use of an old thin flat blade screw driver that i put a slight bend into i managed accomplish the installation.

cools large It was a little tough to install simply because of it's size. I had to take the fan off, install it, and then put the fan back on. It seems to function terrific. I have an athlon mp 2800 slightly more than clocked.

Just answering someones elses issue. Just answering someones elses concern. To the gentleman with the Abit mobo concern. ş update your bios. Š if that is still an issue check your bios settings. And if all else fails shut off the thermal protection. There is a number of approaches to fix the problem but i would get started there. I am truly shocked that a mentor such as yours dont know this info. Then again i have a A+ cert. in harware. The slower fan speed results in longer life but that is what results in the lower frequency. Your bios is just either outdated or by no means capable of that technologies. Doesnt say much for Abit to be honest. Fan is a excellent style. Note that you can also just checnge fans on that heatsink to a quicker rpm fan and your mb will work just fine.

really quiet compared to stock AVC cooler AV-112C86FBL01. was easy to install, i did get rid of the fan to install it, but that took me a whole 10 seconds to do. this factor is heavy compared to the stock unit. not a enormous difference in temperatures from the stock unit, though there is a difference. i bought it for the low noise level, that isn't an problem to me. excellent, quiet cooler for a HTPC.

This is fairly good size compared to the original 1 fan. This fan is truly queit. I can't hear it run at all. The energy supply fan is all I hear. I have no cooling concerns. This laptop or computer is mainly employed for typical personal computer use. None. I had no issues with clamping this to the motherboard. I did get rid of the fan very first to make it easier. If you are seeking to quiet your machine down this is your answer for a excellent cost.

Some attempt to maintain their cars running, some attempt to keep their old computers running. Some like me attempt to do both. My MSI K7T Pro 2-A with 1mgz. AMD from 2000 WIN98SE nonetheless does what I want it to do, at least until unknown heat issues toasted my PSU 20pin on four wires. Numerous Google searches showed me the appropriate fix, but with incredibly limited funds, I did a "field repair" with some hi-temp epoxy as insulation. No more unexpected reboots and power downs! I filled my empty case fan cage with an 80mm cooler master from newegg.com and this helped. Began monitoring temps immediately after downloading SpeedFan 4.35. Original (cpu cooler brand?) heatsink and fan a bit whiny at 5600 rpm & I believe the guy who built this setup (upgrade from 133MZ Packard-Bell) for me employed cheap parts, in all probability sleeve bearings on the fan & the PSU was low end . Finest I could get was 46-47C idle & 52+ at load from running Prime95. Soon after new cooler install - 35-36C idle & 41ኆC at load. I'm impressed, new life for the old box! Not genuinely a "con", but the oversized fan needed to be removed to make the clip job simpler. Thanks to reading the other reviews I had anticipated this and simply removed the fan via removal of the four screws, no major deal. For some reason the Fan1 rpms no longer register in BIOS or SpeedFan. As I am additional temperature oriented, this is an acceptable trade-off. My particular MOBD has some room to spare for this slightly oversized heat sink. A screwdriver did come in handy to make a deft but gentle pressure to get the other side of the clip secured, but that small snap when it locked house on the socket A mount gave me a start. The thermal pre-grease on the heatsink saved me a few bucks by not having to purchase a entire tube of the stuff.

SO much quieter than the hair drier I had cooling my old 3000+. I don't care whether or not it runs hotter or cooler, as lengthy as it is quieter. After moving to a new residence, with a quieter office and hardwood floors, the fan noise on my old desktop has seriously been bothering me. This decreased the noise by half -- not silent, but a Large improvement. Appears to move a lot of air to keep it cool (no overclocking or anything crazy) N/a Gets me a small a lot more use out of this program so I don't have to make a key upgrade quite however.
