Installed with out a hitch, looks fantastic, looks like a P-4 man fan. This was not expensive. Someone will almost certainly say the clamps will be tight, and they virtually broke their mobo. Nicely, tight is excellent, loose is poor. Just lay it out and take your time it is an straightforward install. This one particular came pregreased with thermal paste. If you do not like the grease, get a rag take away it, and apply your own. Pretty good heatsink and fan for the funds really simple install. PLUS THIS Factor WAS SHIPPED Rapidly. The last pro- this item did not have a rebate. Soon after not receiving 4 out of 4 rebates. Nicely, I don't even contemplate typically the a lot more costly products with rebates. Mainly because, I know from encounter that a deal that sounds too very good to be correct most likely is. Newegg ships rapidly, customer service is usually super, but a lot of respect, particularly trust and alot of income was lost as a direct result of promoting those mail in rebates. Those for confident belong in the con region. Pun intended. None = Rosewill Rocks This is my third product from Rosewill. That firm takes care of its customer base. Just installed the Rosewill fan on an older Asus P-4. A.K.A Guppy. Looks fantastic and works good. Also, bought an ide to sata adapter from China and installed a 150Gb 10,000 RPM WD SATA RaptorThen installed a tiny Geforce graphics card with S-video out, the monitor is my 60 inch wide screen.

neat seeking, quieter than the stock Intel HS&F and it's uncomplicated to install/remove Keeps my Intel Pentium 4 processor Prescott three.2, three. and 2.8 / Socket 478 at minimum idle 7 degrees HOTTER than the stock Intel HS&F combo and way hotter underneath a load. Tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and use patience, ie... tried handful of various thermal paste (from radio shack's silicon grease to Arctic Silver five) giving every single lots of live run time to cure just before judging. Also a couple of diverse Prescott 478 processors, considering that it states its produced particularly for them, all with the same outcome. low ambient temp. and case is an Antec Three hundred with Ɣ) 120mm Ɠ intake 1 ehaust), Ƒ) 80mm fan (HDD intake), Ƒ) 140mm fan (exhaust above CPU), power supply exhaust (not intake), ram cooler, north/south bridge and vga active coolers, so airflow was not a difficulty. If you are purchasing this as an upgrade to stock, stick with stock. If its a replacement to broken/no HS&F its decent.

Operates fantastic inexpensive. brought temperature down considerably for my Intel P4. At almost complete load its operating at 34C which applied to run about 75C. Had difficulty with thermal paste in stock fan but nevertheless I don't think I could have accomplished this efficiency by replacing just the thermal paste with stock fan. The clamps to mount this point are simple to use but not very intutive I had to think about initial how it would fit and then figured out not very obvious at the initial appear and there is not direction in the box. would advocate it to everyone.

it was low cost it's created inexpensive. It's loud and it doesn't cool extremely nicely. I'm trying to cool an older P4-3.2, I'm lucky if this issue gets it down to 55C below it's normal load (about 30% usage). I'm gonna have to swap it, it's for a mythfrontend, my wife doesn't like the amount of noise it tends to make.... I don't either. not many Socket 478 coolers out there even though. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer,We are sorry for the inconvenience this might have brought on you. We attempt to give the most dependable goods to our consumers. This is a fantastic fan. I have an older Computer that I turned into a dvr, but the fan was so loud that I had to move it into an additional room. Once I purchased this, the noise level decreased significantly and it has been on non-quit for the past four months and is nevertheless running powerful. I have read some of the other reviews about the difficult installation, but with a tiny finagling it was a rather rapid install. I guess it would be easier if I had youngster sized hands.

its sooo quite and it keeps my cpu cool too. idle temps about 30 celsius on a p4 three.2ghz. working with arctic silver ceramic paste on it and it operates excellent. fits fine in my situation even with the side intake installed (was kind of concerned). go to arctic silver web site and adhere to downloadable directions for applying paste... they pay pros to figure out the right way to do it, it only takes a tiny. no directions but its not rocket science. also came with thermal paste pre applied but i didnt trust it so i scraped it off and wiped it down with rubbing alcohol....easy fix

Really economical, I don't want to say affordable since it doesn't feel like a cheaply produced item. It's definitely worth the ผ I paid for it, I'd say it's worth ฟ at least, and I was surprised to discover it as low as I did. The clips have to be applied at precisely the similar time or it jostles your CPU and could damage it, but that's fundamentally the situation with any clipped heatsink. I bought this to replace the stock cooling on my P4 Prescott. I've got it overclocked to 3.15ghz up from 3ghz. With this heatsink everything seems to run much better, no crashing any a lot more, and I can play games longer with no fear of slowdown. The subsequent step is of program to upgrade to a multicore method, but if you're still on 478 and you want to boost your cooling, this is definitely a excellent way to go.

It's affordable. It seems to function, so far. Of all my years operating with computer systems, this heatsink/fan was the hardest part to set up, of any sort, that I have encountered. It is completely ridiculous. It looks like it ought to be simple, but because this was an upgrade instead of a new Computer, I had incredibly little area for my hands to work, and you will need it for this a single. On that note, it isn't terribly quiet. I think I may possibly have pressed down on the fan instead of the physique even though trying to force the heatsink/fan in. I at least assume it was my fault, mainly because the fan is *rated* as getting quiet... Would not buy once more... unless for a new personal computer. Yes, it's inexpensive, but the install is a nightmare. For a dirt inexpensive new Pc, I might assume about it. If you are operating with a motherboard that is not currently *in the case*, you may be fine.

Incredibly quiet! I can hear my HDDs over the fan now. My old fan sounded like a jet engine. No complaints with regards to heat, and I continually have this CPU operating at 100% since I donate my CPU time to a distributed computing project related to protein folding. That I didn't do this years ago. Also, Socket 478 is a pain in the rear to get coolers on and off! A certain other brand's sockets are extremely easy. I had to take away the fan to make the socket effortless enough to get on, and reattaching the fan was ... weird. Nonetheless, not adequate to knock this cooler down from five stars. I am extremely pleased. Thankfully Socket 478 will die like the dinosaurs.

This is a very quiet fan. The red blades look good for those with see through side panels on their Computer. The clips to hold the heatsink down didn't fit nicely on my certain motherboard from HP, but I just applied the clips from the stock CPU fan that broke just fine. Excellent deall!

The fan has high cfm with incredibly tiny sound most likely simply because of the size ࿼ mm) any fan that size will be quieter. Its just possibly a bit louder then a stock cooler but has a lot much better cooling capacity I would say about 30 to 40c -6 from 40 to 50c -eight surely a good upgrade wont save a lot in noise but it will be cooler. The cooper is possibly the most significant Benefit for cooling we will see how lengthy the fan final it comes with its own past... i consider ภ bucks and cost-free shipping would be greater

The image tends to make it appear a lot bigger. It fits perfectly in my method within my microATX biostar and matches incredibly properly with the red. It spins good and doesn't make a lot of sound. Couldn't ask for far more. None Also the latching arms are great as well. Far better then the Intel OEM fan latches.

Ok, the fan is noisy, and that is a truth, every person that is use to Zalman noise will recognize the huge distinction. You wonder why is that not in the cons, properly it is not for me, and it ought to not for you as properly, you simply adjust the voltage that goes to the fan from 12v to 7v and...there you go, no noise at all, and the same time the idle temperature on the old P4 two.4 is staying 31-32c, after load in no way goes above 45c. So for me the price tag of ten$ (especially with free shipping) is great, it looks good, it gets the job completed, and it is not that hard to install. none So far I am pretty amazed by the spending budget merchandise by Rosewill, I have a couple of heat sinks and fans and they all work good.

Huge size fan that runs a small slower. Nearly silent. does a fantastic job. Watch out for the old plastic heat sink mount. The retainers are tight. I paired this mount with this heat sink. They operate together really nicely. Alpha and Omega EC-478-RM Intel P4륶 & AMD 462 Metal Retention Holder - OEM This mount is metal so it does not break. You will need it for this heat sink because of the spring tension of the retainers.

Solved my dilemma for a very decent price tag. Not If you need to have to resolve a fan challenge on an antique Dell, as I did, this is an inexpensive, comparatively straightforward and an efficient tool.BUT don\'t forget to also purchase a common replacement CPU base. This cooler will not mount into the proprietary Dell junk. WARNING: It also demands a fantastic quantity of force to secure this factor to the base/board. If you don't cautiously help the board when you apply mentioned force, you will be buying a new one particular. In the case of the D-3000 I have installed this cooler into, the MoBo and CPU are well supported by the case standoffs, but the pressure required to lag the cooler down was still sufficient to flex the board to some extent. Other boards in other instances would have been destroyed.

Silent. Very good looking. Value. It raised my Pentium's 4 Prescott 3.0GHz temperature by ten°C or so. With stock cooler, my CPU's temp was 42° - 43°. With this Rosewill cooler it raised to 52°C on stand by. Nicely, I believe I got what I paid for.

Excellent value for income, Quiet and operating cool. A little tricky on the installation. Right after reading a bunch of the evaluations I was questioning about the installation. I have massive fingers and frequently get frustrated with little parts. My tip for installing this fan is this, take out the motherboard. That way you will avoid cracking your cpu fan mount which would be a huge pain. Once you have the board out you can clearly see exactly where the clips require to go and it will go on rapidly. Also it will give you a opportunity to clean out the case like new and also rethink your cooling plan for the case interior. When you feel about it, pulling out the MB added about an extra ten minutes to the project. Nicely worth the effort when you think about this is your cpu you're dealing with. The fan's clips are a small bit on the powerful side which is great due to the fact you get maximum speak to with the cpu. But when the 1st one particular went on it put so substantially pressure that it kind of tipped the fan more than a small. You can hold down the opposite side whilst you attach the 1st clip.

Relatively quiet - Significantly quieter than the stock Intel coolerMoves a very good quantity of airGood braded cover on wiresUncomplicated install - even less difficult than the stock Intel, which is pretty easy Lousy at board games, but I consider all coolers are. I am operating a Pentium four 2.8Ghz processor (socket 478). I am not over clocking this machine. This cooler is undertaking a excellent of keeping it cool. The Intel cooler sounded like a jet on takeoff (I wouldn't have think it if I didn't have to HEAR it for myself). Even if this unit is not SILENT, it is night and day superior than the Intel cooler, and I hardly hear it (with the Pc on my desk about 1.five feet from me). If it were below my desk, I would not be able to hear it. I've only been operating it for a week, so I can't speak to longevity. With free of charge shipping, I am Very pleased with this cooler! Also, with the orientation of my socket 478, the fins on the heat sink open towards my north bridge. This cooler moves a lot of air also keeping my north bridge cool. If your points towards your RAM instead of your Northbridge you'll be in even far better shape. The install was pretty uncomplicated. I liked the two sets of "hooks" becoming separate. This made the install even less difficult for me.
