Not pricey, outstanding positive reviews rating, Windows 7 (x86, x64) compatible. I purchased this modem for faxing out. I upgrade the bundle software FaxlTalk Messenger to the Pro 8 just to steer clear of blaming the software. Good little USB Modem Nothing! Getting a USB 1.1 is not a difficulty! A 1.1 USB transfers at a rate of 12Mbs and the modem transfers at 48Kbps, if you do the math it would be pointless to build this device with a 2. USB connection! Quite Wise Rosewill! BANG! five EGGS!I will be acquiring one more two of these modems from NEWEGG since they are more affordable!

Operates for me with the built in fax software program of Windows 7 x64, while I did have to install drivers from the Rosewill web page to get it to work properly. Price? Low-cost adequate so that when it went on sale I bought a different for my spouse's PC.

So far no complaints, windows XP/VISTA/ and now 7 operates fine, 7 loads the drivers from their own database, great.Excellent size, flexable tiny usb cord. Install disk doesn't usually function, install manually and point it to the CD.

All new laptop PCs *do* come with phone modems. New desktop PCs *don't* come with modems any far more. The computer I purchased did not come with a modem and I was unable to install an internal one due to a physical disability. None Plenty. I bought this modem for the caller id and TAM feature. Properly using the included and website driver, none of these issues work. I've tried connecting to the modem by way of the com port employing terminal emulator. I can see the telephone ringing (RING RING RING) but no caller id data is displayed. Trying AT+VCIDɣ or two does not result in any information. Also outgoing messages can not be heard by caller and records extremely faint incoming messages. So now I am out the ษ and the shipping. I am not positive if the faxing or dial up features operate, I do not have a need to have for those functions.

Works in Linux with no binary winmodem drivers. According to the the critiques I realized some couldn't get caller id to work with this modem. Modest, effortless install, & inexpensive. Works excellent with Windows XP. Does not work with Windows 7 64bit RC1. It worked fine with the beta version of Windows 7 64bit and the Vista 64bit drivers. On the other hand, Windows 7 RC1 will not let the Vista drivers be installed and the driver that comes with Windows 7 has no voice capability. As of now, don't anticipate to use this with Windows 7 and have voice capability.

No software driver required. Works on any OS with USB assistance.
